Why do people ragequit in online games?

Because modern matchmaking is awful, and I'm not gonna sit through an absolute shitshow of a game for 10-30 minutes because the invisible hand of matchmaking decided to stack everyone competent on one team and I happen to be on the other with a bunch of people who don't even speak my language. I've been slowly giving up on multiplayer games that don't have a server browser.

The point of video games is to have fun, no matter how much MLG 12 year olds and soiboi movie makers try to change that. If I'm not having fun then there's no reason to waste my time on an activity I gain nothing from.

Im pushing 30 and Mordhau is the only game I have ever rage quit. It was one guy consistently dunking on me the whole game and I felt like a fucking dunce every time I died, I feel ashamed just saying it.

I quit team-based games if my teammates aren't putting in effort.

When you get paired with randos, the odds that your team having a few people that aren't trying is pretty high, and it can tank the team.

The only time I ragequit is if someone gets on the mic and they are a dick or an annoying sperg. I don’t mind losing to fun people, I hate winning against insufferable people. I just bail, not worth my time spending it with people I would avoid in real life. Alternatively if hackers are present.
