I think it's actually really out of balance. The black suspenders are lost in the black sports-bra. The black spats are lost in the black skirt, the black socks add nothing but cover more skin. The long hair is also black. The gloves were supposed to go along with her eyes. The whole thing is now 85% black, 10% white and 5% red, I'm not saying it should be 33/33/33 but it's not even respecting a normal 60/30 ratio.

I'm pretty sure Tifa's model is going to get a bit detail later on. Her hair looks less detailed than say Aerith's, by this trailer. It makes sense seeing how the dev process went with KH3, too.

1.It wasn't censorship
2.It was actually because the old designs were shit and the devs even admitted back then that it was intentional.
3.You guys like a game the devs intentionally made shitty.
4.They're trying to make it better because FF7 was never special. The 2015 trailer was more faithful to the real FF7 but it changed now because it was made in house and because the real ff7 is just an ugly piece of shit which yet again the devs admitted.
5.Cloud was changed too, you know, because old FF7 was just ugly. I don't mean because old graphics either, it was just ugly because of bad execution.
6. Aerith doesn't look gross or have a gross presentation anymore. She was always one of the most poorly executed things.
7.FF8 is better and so is nearly any FF witht he exception of 15 which is barely a game.
8.FF7R might at the very least stand the test of time and become another meme game like 15.

That's true, because the US doesn't measure in cm. Anyway, the measurements are sound but not totally accurate for both iterations of Tifa. For OG Tifa, they're off a bit due to anime proportions. For Remake Tifa, they're off a bit because she's too fucking thin at the arms and legs. But otherwise the ratios are on point.

As things are, this game is still very heavily stylised. It's a happy medium for me. DMC5 is a visually impressive game but the face scanning leads to some very wonky results. Would've preferred to see the game without it. But Square is modelling faces and characters from the ground up. That's more money and more work, but I still it does wonders. VII isn't my favorite FF game but I can't think of any other game that could've been remade to such stellar results (so far, anyway.) Nomura is still in the company and, for all of his fuck-ups, he's doing some great stuff here.

I do too, but I genuinely think FFVIIR looks fantastic. I haven't really enjoyed any FF title since XII. XIII scorned me and XV is a pile of shit. But VIIR does capture that feeling of being a kid and playing VII on my PS1. It's just that everything is bigger and grander, but still very recognizable. I hope that this game does well, and I hope that whenever a new numbered title drops, it captures some of the magic of the old games while doing something new. Because putting it simply, Square hasn't made a good Final Fantasy game in years.

Having a simple, streamlined outfit reflects the mentality of a straightforward, no frills person whereas the pleated scene girl skirt and "trendy" thigh highs suggest someone who is flashy and wants to be noticed. Even though her standard outfit shows a lot of skin it's clear that Tifa is still mostly reserved when she gets flustered thinking about Cloud and Barret seeing up her skirt while they're climbing the Shinra stairs.

Seeing the edits now, I've grown to appreciate the undershirt. The white skin with white shirt doesn't have a nice contrast that feels pretty necessary with the realistic graphics. She definitely needs meatier legs though, those twigs aren't doing shit for me, and that applies with classic Tifa as well. All her fat went to her chest and it was always pretty dumb.
