I played Banjo Kazooie as it was one of the few games we had on the N64. I didn't really like it. Don't really intend on buying Banjo or any of the DLC fighters, but good for those that enjoy them.

I agree.

If you've never played a Banjo game you should go and play them because they are amazing and I hope Banjo in smash convinces you to do so.
Ftfy

If you can't 100% Banjo Kazooie in one sitting, then you don't deserve to main him

But why would I play such an old and outdated game?

I still have my N64 and both games.

based prophetic post

The best part of Banjo Tooie is the multiplayer. Nothing says great like watching that fat bitch Grunty kill Jinjo with a single grenade egg.

*sniff sniff* Stinky Steve? Is that you?

Why not?

They're average games at best

He's a sneaky one, that Steve.

Lol same here, I played it a lot as a kid but then again I had so few games that I would play whatever the fuck I had, I also played a shit ton of DK64 and I don't remember it being a good game either.

Based, I wanted to rip out the throat of everyone who "totally mained" Joker without even playing a second of P5

Bandwagoners are the scum of this earth

but P5 is shit

I played the game for 10 hours on RPCS3, does that count?

Easily the best platformer of its era and a top 5 platformer by today's standards.
But I'll settle on 'worth playing' if you prefer.

Based bandwagoners deserve to be publicly hung I fucking hate these niggers.

I can't wait to stomp all the banjo and erdrickfags day 1

I tried but the Nuts and Bolts one was just so bad

Not that user, but would you recommend one or two gameplay wise considering mechanics, level design and tedium? I thought about checking one of them out but I don't think the story is really that engaging, so I'm considering the sequel as well.

Because they have no right to pretend like they always wanted banjo if you can't even recognize what a jiggy is get the fuck out you don't deserve banjo.

Oh look, it's a shitposter pretending to be an obnoxious banjo boomer to make banjo fans look bad
guh-huh

One is way better in my opinion. The level design is not overwhelming.

Is that really such a bad thing? Joker and Persona 5 seem interesting enough, I'd like to play them but I can't get the console for them right now.

When i was a kid, i used to go to McDonalds and play on the N64 station they had, which they had like 3 other TVs and consoles set up in a booth area where 4 people can go at it. I remember playing Banjo Vs. Mode there and I wrecked all the other kids that challenged me, i felt so proud cause that was the only game at the time thaat i was actually winning. I used to play with my older cousins N64 since i was the youngest I always ended up last in StarFox64, Smash64, and Perfect Dark (wtf were those controls)

If that’s the logic then same goes for every character in Smash.

played a bit of banjo-kazooie one day and it wasn't my cup of tea, sorry

BK is very short and tight but a bit rough around the edges. BT is much more expansive but can get tedious.

Personally I prefer BT's level design and gameplay more but generally people seem to like BK more.

Op here and I agree that goes for every character. Fucking faggots playing Richter and calling him Richard pissed me the fuck off

Got it with the Star Fox 64 system bundle on my 6th Christmas. When I got Smash on my 7th birthday I was confused that Banjo wasn't in it.

This is my watershed moment in gaming, I couldn't feel the happiness that FFVIIR or certain other big gaming announcements brought, but I feel the full weight of this.

Kazooie has better level design. They're small but they feel large bc the space is used very well. I'd also argue the puzzle solving is way better in the first. Tooie has an interconnected world and a stronger narrative but you'll end up playing that if you enjoy Kazooie anyway.

I only played the GBA one, am I in the clear?

this
smash fans are always secondaries

I also use DK Vine

Tooie I do think is actually the better designed game. It still has platform challenges and great exploration, but asks you to solve more puzzles and remember more details. I like that about it.

I'll always prefer Kazooie as a chill out nostalgia trip though.

>When I got Smash on my 7th birthday I was confused that Banjo wasn't in it
I've always felt that Banjo belonged in Smash from the start, or at least from Melee onward. He's long overdue, but at least it happened at all.

Get fucked, faggot

If you’ve never played Banjo-Kazooie, you should go play it though. It’s one of the best 3D platformers ever made Tooie is arguably better or at least as good as BK. Definitely worth a playthrough anyway

I always hated that he didn't get into Melee because then maybe that would've been enough to get Nintendo to retain the rights to the franchise.

I don't know if they'd have done anything with the IP in hindsight but fuck was it frustrating to think about that.

He was too new for the first game, BK came out in Japan a month before Smash 64

Not everyone grew up with an N64 or bought a single Xbox, dood

maybe when they remake the games so that they're playable I will

I was born a week after the first BK game came out, played DKC1 and 2, conker but never played BK or ever will.

Suck it 90s boy.

You're right.

Me when I was 7 didn't have that context though.

They did. Over a decade ago. And Xbox 360's are common.

Collectathons from that era have aged poorly, Banjo included. It's still a decent game but it's not going to provide the same experience to someone not from that era who's already had the chance to play modern platformers.

I once played it on an emulator, but I only ever got to treasure trove cove. I still had a lot of fun with it. I should emulate it again.

N64 emulation has been a thing for over 15 years. I first played it on an emulator in the early 2000s.

Ive owned the game on n64 cartridge for years but only got halfway through.
Im picking it up again and goddamn I dont know why I stopped, this game is incredible.

Tooie is great but I feel that it's more tedious than Kazooie in more ways than one.
>Levels designed like a maze with load zones between areas instead of being designed around a distinguishable locations around a central point.
>Several step Jiggies across several worlds that feel more like you're stumbling across a solution instead of solving a puzzle.
>More backtracking in general.
>More cutscenes and such due to the larger focus on the story.
Still a 9/10 in my eyes. Both games are well worth playing.

Oh but I have.
