About to play Persona Q2. I guess there's no more 3DS thread on /vg/ I can hit up for info anymore, so is it like PQ1 where some characters are basically unusable and some are broken or did they manage to balance things better this time.
Well Naoto isn't broken anymore but Aigis is still stupid strong because god forbid ATLUS makes her reasonably strong iinstead of overpowered, so most people use her.
Besides that you can use pretty much anyone you want
Leo Ortiz
It seemed a lot more balanced. Mitsuru is even a good binder. Also is it just me or is the fourth dungeon kind of fucking long
Jacob Cook
She's a robot, she should be overpowered
Camden Long
It's not just you, the fourth dungeon is pretty fucking long, iirc it's the longest one in the game
Ian Myers
Its a game where you summon demons and shit, robots aren't special.
Noah Cox
Do the Q games have an easy for mode for people who suck? I can only beat Persona on very easy.
Its an etrian type game, its an entirely different type of game from normal persona. Its more of a dungeon crawler.
There's probably an easy mode, but etrian type games are known for being kinda ruthless almost like old SMT. But the current age of games usually has pussy mode for you.
Benjamin Kelly
I'm using Akechi/Chad Thundercock/Aigis front Naoto/Joker on back for Risky. Between Akechi and Naoto the shutdown game is ridiculous. Yes, Akechi has shit luck, but his bind skill is so goddamn spammable. Yu is just solid all around frontliner and Aigis is broken.
Leo Roberts
The game is easy enough that you can take literally any party you want and still do fine, as long as you have type coverage. Subpersonas make everything casual as fuck.
Parker Lee
Hell if I know. I’m using Joker, Ryuji, Yusuke, Ann, and Morgana as my team for the whole damn game. Third dungeon so far with no problems with this lineup.
Adam Kelly
I wish they worked on putting actual 3d persona instead of 2d art I really wanted to see arsen again on chibi mode
Ethan Gutierrez
>chibi models of all six billion SMT demons The game would be like 10gb at that point.
Ryan Martin
>six billion demons
you're talking out of your ass maybe there's like five or six hundred demons in total and as I said it'll be chibi so I'm guessing the game size will 4 something gigz
Logan Baker
If you took six billion seriously, you need to turn off the computer. Just go do anything else.
Henry Roberts
Is Door a manlet or something?
Carson Morgan
Japanese people are tiny
Eli Hill
theres a lot less characters who arent completely useless compared to Q1 and some characters were toned down like Naoto (but still very strong). Aigis of course is still overpowered so if you want a handicap then dont use her.
My team was:
Front >Haru for floof tank with All Guard that can also hit hard when she wants to. Heat Riser for Chie. Axe Bulwark combined with Immunity Buffer makes her pretty ridiculous when dealing with physical attacks. >Akihiko for fast debuffer, elemental physical attacks and Armor Destroyer for Chie. Sonic Rush is useful as well. >Chie for Shura Tensei/Instinct bullshit while being supported by Haru and Akihiko. Can tank hits well when need to. Shura + Rakunda + Power Charge + Heat Riser + Armor Destroyer + God's Hand or good Aeon Rain roll = single target destruction (all of this can be set up in two turns)
Back >Naoto for bind spam with Salome's Kiss and ailment spam with Tentarafoo due to high luck. Magic attacker that has Megidolaon >Yukari for healing, especially Chie when Shura is activated. Made easier and less costly with Healing Hand. Also all-around magic attacker.
Justin Hall
Average height for Japanese men is 171.2 cm, so Door's about half an inch shorter than average. He probably was exactly average back when the game was designed, and that was probably intentional to give him more of a self-insert vibe than the previous protagonists.
Most (obviously not all but most) kids don't shoot up after high school, if he grows it'll be by a few inches at most because of his body hanging from the door lmao
David Jones
>Naoto isn't broken anymore Depends on whether or not you consider the single best binder + ailment caster in the game broken. Once she picks up a bit of steam, being able to bind every single enemy in the game except for the final phase of the final boss makes the game pretty damn trivial.
Lincoln Smith
Tbh this game has a bit of an identity crisis with it's difficulty. Example Kamoshidaman can remove his weakness and sleep and ohko you for a first boss. Then after that the early enemies in theater 2 fucking obliterate you at the start. When you get more characters, then the game becomes somewhat fair as you actually have more to work with.
Brody Foster
Every megaten game is fucking hard as balls at the start
Samuel Cruz
The battles get really easy after Kamoshidaman. Combined with the intentionally simplified dungeon design, overall PQ2 is kinda lackluster outside of the music.
