The first live action movie to come from Sony's new series of films based on their video game properties will be an adaptation of the PS2 game, Gitaroo Man
>Gitaroo Man is a musical comedy adventure following a boy named U-1 and his mechanical dog, Puma as they embark on a spaceward quest to find the legendary Gitaroos and save the world from the evil Zowie, while learning to believe in themselves along the way.
Due out in 2021. Sony is using this limited budget film to test the waters of potential bigger video game adaptations. It's not yet rated but Sony is aiming for a PG release.
While Sony initially described their new video game adaptations as similar to the "MCU", that was actually either a lie, or an ignorant assumption. The majority of films in this "series" will be contained in their own continuity, but tied together through similar themes, ideas, and possible Easter eggs.
If I were to guess, they want to use an obscure IP to avoid the risk of tarnishing a more familiar name on a bad first movie
Basically this would be their test subject to see what works, instead of something more lucrative like Nathan Drake
Evan Murphy
Using Gitaroo Man of all things for a post like this, you should be ashamed. This is as bad as that one thread a while back with a fake link about a new Folklore trademark.
Benjamin Gomez
>Gitaroo Man >Sony >live action please no, not like this
they literally already announced an Uncharted movie....
Jaxson Nelson
I just got more news, Sony is also doing a tie-in game to hype up audiences. It’s going to be made to appeal to western tendencies to get a larger following.
Henry Lee
Source, nigger. SOURCE, PLEASE. This can't be real.
Leave Gitaroo Man out of this movie adaptation bullshit.
Joseph Anderson
This better be fucking fake I can't even imagine how you could even adapt it that well ESPECIALLY in live action. Imagining how soulless they are going to make these scenes makes me sick. youtu.be/7zA9Agpz8fA youtu.be/3r959FXNmQo
Nicholas Diaz
>Gitaroo Man directed by Edgar Wright That would be sick.
John Lewis
>Sony making a movie adaptation of a rhythm game >Sony making a movie adaptation of a Koei property >not even making a Parappa The Rapper movie, which they fucking own
Sure thing, OP.
Jeremiah Ramirez
Oh yeah, like what happened with the Ratchet and Clank mov- oh wait
Liam Cooper
Those are the scenes that would honestly be easiest. I'm more worried about literally everything else
