I recently played a Hat In Time, good game, but it just wasn't mentally engaging enough to take my mind off things.

Earthbound, is a pretty happy game... but not the sequel, Mother 3, that one is depressing.
Night In the Woods is pretty good, I ended the game wanting to keep playing because the characters were fun and I enjoyed the dumb shit you could do with your pals.
You could also try to play one of those open world games full of secondary missions like Fallout 3 / New Vegas or Skyrim, it takes a shit ton of time to complete them.
Psychonauts is also a pretty good game, it have some dark moments but not too many.
I don't know what else... Undertale?
