Planes Thread

Most games about planes nowadays are sim. We need more single player, story-driven plane games like Ace Combat.

>I want muh arcade game with story

Just admit you dont actually have any real interest in aviation and you play these shit games for the anime shit, which you can find in any other genre

There's nothing wrong with arcade and anime.

>story-driven plane games
Isn't it because the genre has been explored to the point of exhaustion?
How many spins on "shoot at hud markers while a voice talks in your ear" can you make?

As long as you admit it's for children and fags and acknowledge you never had any interest in real aircraft in the first place, and you just sub consciously began to associate planes with anime shit because of these games.

Where's my Project Aces Kotobuki game, Bamco?

Are all anime fags incapable of self analysis and being truthful? There's a huge difference in playing something because it's actually about flying and fulfills some interest you have in aviation, and playing something because it's purely anime arcade nonsense because that's what you like. It seems strange to simply refuse to admit why you play something when it's quite obvious what really draws you to it.

Yes.

You can't like arcade games if you really love planes.

it's disrespectful to the air flow.

I still have all the dlc on my Xbox... Multi was so fun. I loved hopping in turrets.

Any old timers around here remember playing Red Baron? That shit was tight af

can you imagine a multiplayer crimson skies game where you can command zeppelins, dock with zeppelins and board them battlefront 2 style, have people use the turrets on your plane, or climb out onto the plane to repair mid-air. commandeer an enemy team's zeppelin and use their zeppelin cannon against them, or sabotage it from the inside, parachute onto the zep engines and plant explosives, a multiplayer mode where you compete with another team to board a train and get it's loot having to defend your planes as they dock..

no but i remember playing some good old flight games for the amiga, a ww1 game like that with biplanes, and a few others, they were actually pretty good for the time.

Red Baron was awesome but brutal. You could play a campaign mode and get to be an ace with like 50 kills and dozens of missions and a single stray bullet could hit you the pilot and the screen goes red game over no continue.

it's not arcade more sim but i had fun with a game called a 10 cuba back in the day. it was difficult. also a game called mig alley, where you had a campaign where you could strategically take out objectives and try to win the korean war.

just imagine, someone steering the zep, someone on the cannon, some on the turrets, someone having to repair shit, and your pilots and also having to defend from inside if a plane docks, a mix between the classic crimson skies gameplay and third person, and some people manning cannons, all coordinating in battle with an enemy zep.

it would be the ultimate online experience.

Damn the Mig Alley game looks cool as fuck.

or use one of the larger planes to ferry a boarding crew onto the enemy zep and take it down battlefront 2 style, while on plane turrets and your wingmates defend you as you dock, and you can spawn from that plane.

why isn't htis game being made?
