Is it just me, or was Nintendo more ambitious with its games during the Wii era than it is now? Reviving forgotten IPs and making them into something new, creating unique concepts for older IPs, producing totally new IPs, and overall releasing stuff like this pretty often. Am I wrong? Why don't seem to do stuff like this anymore?
Is it just me, or was Nintendo more ambitious with its games during the Wii era than it is now...
Because most of the good companies that worked with them (CING, Noise, Treasure, TOSE etc..) either stopped making new games for them or went bankrupt.
Also the success of NSMB
>Before games were socially accepted as mainstream entities
>Demographic increases as more people play them
>This includes braindead retards who throw money at effortless rehashes
Not that a good portion of older games aren't retarded but at least they grew up on good games
Wii U was a huge disaster so they've been playing it safe since. At least they've been keeping Platinum alive.
>We have now reached the level when people say Nintendo was ambitious in the wii era
WOW when i browsed this hellhole in the Wii era people said:
>Is it just me or was Nintendo more ambitious in the gamecube/N64 era
No you fucking dingus NO they werent.
they deliver the same great output like always you retarded fucking nigge
And waht new IPS you dont see?
Splatoon?
Mario maker?
ARMS?
Splatoon and ARMs are good, but it seems to me that new IPs, ideas, and revivals were being produced at a faster rate back in the Wii era than they are now. Mario Maker isn't that ambitious, it's a fun time waster though.
I think its just that once a consoles lifetime has been completed and you have a top down view from all the games, it looks impressive compared to the titles just 3 years in a new consoles lifetime.
Yes but a lot of those games were shit
>boom blox
Wow, I haven't thought about that game in years. I played it so much back in the day.
>Mario maker?
WOW, SO AMBITIOUS!
>this retarded board is so contrarian it's now pretending nsmb was AMBISHUS
aren't you spergs ever tired of always being wrong
This is accurate. People will be calling the switch a top 3 console of all time when it finally gets botw2 and Prime 4 at the end of its life cycle and it's all said and done.
But what about other game?
I didn't mean NSMB was ambitious, it was just something new. At the time it came out, Super Mario World was the last 2D Mario platformer to be released.
Because you don't buy Sushi Strikers
Prime 4 would be a good swan song for the Switch, especially since it was essentially promised at the beginning of the console's life, but I would be a bit surprised if BotW2 wasn't a launch title for the next system. That's not to say that it couldn't also show up on Switch, but I imagine that it would create more hype for the new console in the same way that BotW1 did for the Switch
That's because the Switch is also used to revitalize all the games that sank with the Wii U, while the Wii didn't have to salvage the GC's library from falling into oblivion and only released some ports that would benefit from motion controls years later.
Daemon x Machina
Astral Chain
Sushi Strikers
Arms
This are new nintendo IPs, the fact that you are a faggot who only plays faggot games doesn't mean Nintendo is not making new things.
If you weren't a zoomer, you'd realise that New Super Mario Bros on the DS was actually worthy of the "New" title since 2D Mario had nothing but ports ever since Super Mario World. It is also one of the only 2D Mario game to date that has truly unique bosses at the end of every world (the only other games that did this were the Gameboy games).
I honestly expect BOTW2 to come out before Prime 4. And Prime 4 being the cross gen release, not BOTW2. BOTW2 will probably come out at that awkward period right before the next console the same way The Last of Us came out on ps3 a few months before the ps4.
But knowing nintendo, I do expect a botw2 port on the next Nintendo console down the line. But I think itll be primarily a switch game.
