Dies Irae was better
WORMED
kys weeb
jesus christ the censored versions of these are unironically way better. gay ass mana recharging sex
I only care about FGO
Imagine playing anime games
I've yet to finish even Muv Luv
read fate, started next part, realized I was reading the same shit over again, uninstalled and never looked back
Is that screen real? Does the actual VN have sex scenes? Serious question.
I don't play good games
I just liked Zero.
By the time the tl came out, I was out of my Type-Moon high. May go back to it now, knowing how much worse shit has gotten, though.
yeah but they aren't good
>Is that screen real? Does the actual VN have sex scenes? Serious question.
Yes
I read all of F/SN, it was unbelieably shit.
Except for Heaven's Feel, that was kino/10 purely because whenever someone asks about the movies I get to see the look on their faces when I tell them what happens in that route.
I read fsn but not ataraxia
I have, and they were enjoyable. Fate/HA is miles better than FSN though.
people meme the church threesome with saber but my dick unironically fucking exploded at it, too horny to laugh desu
Fate/Zero is literally the best thing about this series. I wish I could've stopped there, everything else I've seen was retarded.
I talked to a person who bitched out th entire vn for that scene, saying it was fucking retarded for them to have sex when Beserker was hot on their ass and stuff. And I don't disagree but Nasu writes things because they are ridiculous on occasion.
Honestly the only scene I found hot was Saber's second scene at Shirou's place. Everywhere else had some wild ass dialogue
Tsukihime was better
That entire sister route made me uncomfortable and I stopped playing, and this is coming from a massive weeb.
I've had sex with a real person before
no you didn't. Yea Forums is just incels and trannies get with the program
>Nasu will never be a depressed, rebellious spirit who writes works about the uncomfortable taboos of society again
Old Type-Moon was pretty unique in how it flaunted genuine taboo and degeneracy with pride. I'll miss it.
Talk about any VN other that F/SN please.
Fate has atrocious stories and writing.
I'm avoiding it because I'm sure it'll tarnish F/Z in retrospect. The premise of Fate is cool but I doubt in a VN that lengthy it avoids becoming stupid shit after too long.
I'm waiting for obscene spider silk
>playing a book simulator
Demonbane is miles better
i remember i played the scene where shiki got his dick sucked by the maid while his sister jacked off the night before a test i had
couldn't keep that scene off my mind and nearly failed
I'm not as easily manipulated into parting with my shekels by weebshit as you are
How does HF end?
After watching fate zero i couldnt for the life of me watch fate/stay night its like going from watching the godfather to watching mission impossible 2
>but Nasu writes things because they are ridiculous on occasion.
That's not much of an excuse for it being shit.
nobody paid for this shit lmao
There's two ending to it but basically it's a fistfight with the shitty priest under the light of the corrupted grail as his body is devoured by swords from within.
then you get a timeskip and riders still hanging about the place in casual clothes which is why it's the best route
It's easily pirated, you can't even buy the VN outside of Japan, fucking dumbass.
shes mine Yea Forums
I played and regretted every second wasted.
>Nasu then
A whole route dedicated to the protagonist being bedridden for a week stricken by nightmares of murdering people and slowly going insane
>Nasu now
Giantess fetish and Dark Souls references
Shirou kills Kirei in a battle, and by that I mean gets the absolute shit beat out of him but since his body was turning into swords he won, goes to destroy angry mango but finds oh shot he is having problems moving because his body is being impaled, Illya shows up and reks angry mango for him and transfers his souls from his body into a jar and then later into a puppet. It’s a very good puppet though and he has a happy ending with Sakura and they have sex every day. The end

VNs are universally garbage, if I wanted to read a book I would just read a book and it wouldn't have shitty pictures, music, and voice acting getting in the way.
>only good entry in the series has a different writer
I have better standards than wasting my time reading a badly translated, babby's first shitty erotic novel written by some virgin nip.
The statanic verses is garbage and i am not reading a 2000 book retard
>Fate/Zero is literally the best thing about this series.
A challenger approaches...
I don't know what this is but anything with gil in it is sure to be amusing.
goddamn I want fate extra CCC's fantranslation to be done...
>that scene in Kohaku's route where Shiki goes on a murder spree, bumps into SHIKI and they have a coffee talking about how despite everything, they're unfit for society as a whole
Call it baseless edge if you want, but there were many points where the writing in KnK and Tsuki felt like Nasu expressing his own views of the time. It's actually a wonder that he's so straight-laced now, even with the money and the happiness.
I never cared enough to find a download
user. While all of days reads like a bad fan fiction, Fate strange fake is literally a bad fan fiction of something that already reads like one. And the powerlevels are fucking retarded
the best ones are self aware and deconstructing like subahibi
>Gil shooting Ea liks its 4th of July
That needs an anime adaptation asap!
The fuck is this
More like
>2019
>people caring for Fate
>that moment when you finally realized in the Kohaku-Route that all the weird shit happening in the other routes can be tracked back to the goddamn maid drugging and trying to hypnotize you since the first fucking night
>And the powerlevels are fucking retarded
Please the power levels F/SF are mild compared to the likes FGO and other Type-Moon works.
It's full of depraved bisexual people.
A very popular fan fiction that's technically recognized by the series as a whole as FGO took some of it's designs.
What if everything that happened in Near Side was actually just a Kokahu-induced drug trip and Arc/Ciel don't exist.
Why play when I can just want the animes.
lol, nope. Dies Irae is a cringy overrated mess.
I disagree besides FGO no grail war in the history of fate has had powerlevels as ridiculous as strange fake they are fan fiction tier.
I just finished Fate route and am about to start UBW. It has been decent so far, but I can't see this topping Tsukihime or Umineko.
>Fan-fiction
>Fate
You do know what series you're talking about right? And how is it a bad "fan-fiction"?
FGO is gatcha shit, I mentally delete that from fate stuff on princible.
The Fate route is mostly setting the stage for the other routes.
>fate
i don't play garbage
Because I'm not a sad weeb virgin with no imagination or friends.
You don't see Saber naked in the anime
i fucked a lithe 18 year old hapa girl last week and i'm currently reading subahibi
there are no rules, you have no imagination
Well for starters it is legitimately fan fiction. Now the reason it's bad is that the characters ave powerlevels rivaling dragon ball super and power level faggotry is the main base of the plot.
Sakura is so shit, worst girl in the entire series
>Sex scenes
>No childrens
Why they do this?
I did, it was fucking garbage, it was like someone trying to describe a DBZ fight to you
it's funny that the fate series turned into just loli yuri shit
I'm not a fucking idiot that likes 'interactive reading' games
based and Übermensch-pilled
Is this the best character Nasu has ever writte?
Based
Best Sakura
>only good entry
That's Carnival Phantasm, noob
That’s Prisma Illya
Carnivial Phantasm is excellent, seriously one of the best crossovers in fiction.
retard here, how do I get into this series?
>any fateshit
>ever
Start with Zero or FSN Unlimited Blade works anime. If you like it continue with the vn
That turned into shounen
Read the VN
Years after F/SN (not clear which route) some burgers tries to copy the Heaven's Feel ritual while missing important details (for starters, they don't know how to summon a Saber), causing that the servants summoned become too OP to handle and the HGW set in a normal USA town, making both the Mage Association and the Church crap their pants. Disasters and laughs ensues.
Unironically start with the Original Fate anime, the ugly one.
If you can stomach that and are interested in the setting, read the VN.
Start with fate/stay night VN first, avoid the stupid gacha shit, the guy saying zero or blade works is an idiot, those are both things that need the context of the original story, especially since UBW is route 2 of fate/stay night and skims over all the world building on the assumption you already did that shit.
yeah the original deen anime does a lot of the worldbuilding, even if they go "oh shit we have too many episodes to fill, start stealing elements from the other routes to try and fill time" two thirds of the way through.
Okay thank you anons
It seems like cheap smut with a convoluted plot. I don't like fate anything. Super pretentious waifubait. I like waifubait, but god damn, don't use King fucking Arthur for it.
Rule 34 my dude.
Casual. Fucking loli cat - now THAT was weird.

the smut is honestly shoehorned in and extremely minor and honestly badly written, you get one sex scene per route and it's nothing worth talking about.
no wait saber gets two scenes, I forgot about the fucking shack in the woods shit.
Why not? We can fap to anything.
What a fucking ending.
Yes.
What game is this
Like a mollusk.
It's called: Your FATE is to breed
That fuck shack scene really threw me for a loop. I mean I get the logic behind it, but why the fuck did Rin join in to help fuck Saber? It was just done so bluntly. I honestly thought it was just going to be a tender and embarrassing scene for both Saber and Shirou.
that screenshot is specifically from fate hollow ataraxia is memory serves me correctly, a.. sequel of sorts to fate stay night, it's hard to explain without spoiling the plot of that.
I get that sex is a quick and dirty way to transfer mana in nasuverse but yeah all those scenes are a bit poorly written, if you can live with the lore and slight plotholes created default realta nua has those scenes re-written to be not smut.
Step 1: Don't
Step 2: Go enjoy Tsukihime instead
There are millions of games out there and only so much time to play them. My not having played F/SN is in no way indicative of any disapproval of the game, I just have not got around to it.
It's nice that the sex scenes in HA were optional, I'm honestly not a fan of them
Not only wrong, but unbelievably stupid as well
>liking anime sameface generic personality moe shit
Incels
not videogames
>paying for VNs
fate's sex scenes have never been all that good, it was originally just a selling point to ship copies and they ditched it once they started making bank, the holy grail war was the interesting shit.
I loved Fate but HA's structure really confused me
Based
it's honeslty hang out with the various servants simulator that has a background plot.
Avenger had it hard man.
youtu.be
>TM will never be this good ever again
>it will be remembered as "that one company that made a mobile game about genderbent mythological figures"
Why live?
>fate is literally EASY money
>they know full well if they slap this on steam weebs all over the world would be dumb enough to buy it despite playing it 10 times already
>refused to make these easy shekels
They honestly don't have to, they're cashing in on FGO
Based subahibro
>not baiting the hardcore fans that hate FGO
>Dragon ball Z with swords.
I'd rather just watch DBZ at that point.
Has it convinced you to read Wittgenstein yet, user?
FGO killed the series for me really, I even enjoyed fate extra but FGO is just... fuckin why.
The good thing is Nasu recently stopped writing for FGO and is currently sitting on a pile of cash so the next project will likely be a passion one.
Nasu is a lazy fuck, he’s done writing
That's also possible. Curious to see what happens.
>foreknowledge foreknowledge
>the desert eagle is the world's heaviest, biggest, most hardcore and impossible to use gun but Shirou can use it flawlessly by being a rad dude
>foreknowledge
>if it was anyone else even attempting to fire a single bullet would break every bone in their body but Shirou was firing two deagles at a rate of one thousand shots per second without breaking a sweat
>foreknowledge foreknowledge
>it didn't do shit because his opponent is literally immune to gunfire but Shirou still kept at it for 30 minutes because I really like writing this cringeworthy shit
>foreknowledge
>Shirou got hit by some superhuman monster and broke twenty ribs but kept firing his atomic hand cannon aka the legendary desert eagle, the world's most insane and radical gun
>foreknowledge foreknowledge
>seriously, take a break and go jack off to Shirou right now
>foreknowledge
>eventually Shirou's opponent went away and was killed by someone else in the following chapter
>"Tch... I'm tired of this damn foreknowledge..." said Shirou as he used his deagle to light a cigarette while playing some totally sick guitar riffs with his huge dick
Masada is a true master, we might as well wrap up the entire genre because it doesn't get any better than this.
Because i don't want to waste 100 hours playing a dated VN
I havent read Ataraxia yet cuz its some kind of "WHAT IF" plot and I dont really care much.
I will eventually. I want to read some other philo beforehand to have a better understanding of the history/context.
Faggot
It was honestly the most boring VN I've ever played, unless you get off by reading chunnitext it's a terrible game.
It's really entertaining if you are into seeing the Holy Grail heroes in slice of life environments, the game gets a lot of entertainment value out of just how absurd it is.
It is the last good thing to come out of the Fate franchise.
That's good. The most general route seems to be Plato -> Descartes -> Kant -> Witt for the 100% necessary stuff, but it wouldn't hurt to read more supplementary stuff before Kant to better understand him either. The first two aren't hard to understand at all, so it's not as huge of a task as it looks like. Just read the essentials and then you can move forward.
>not being a Fatechad and DIbro at the same time
Cope
I finished Tsukihime and Kagetsu Tohya
Fate just isn't interesting and I got to start of the war
Thanks for the info, lad
Yes. She is the Anti-Sakura; Completly powerless in a world of superpowers and magic yet instead of giving up or lamenting about being unfortunate she enacts a thanatos-gambit where she uses Akiha to weaken Makihisa, then SHIKI to get rid of Makihisa, Akiha to get rid of SHIKI and then nearly manages to make Shiki and Akiha kill each other not out of malice or revenge, no its because she thinks that this is something someone in her position should do.
>some kind of "WHAT IF" plot
It isn't thought, it's absolutely canon across all FSN routes
>Completly powerless
But she isn't
Her and her sister's power is even important plot point
BBros, the wait is too much
These are the modern Fatefags. Nice.
>It is the last good thing to come out of the Fate franchise.
CCC?
Imagine even pirating western normie shit
Dare I say it, best girl?
>extra
>good
The fact that anyone can believe the Bazett/Berserker parts were a low point leads me to believe most of the Type-Moon fans today are flat out brainlets.
extra CCC is fun just for hanging out with gilgamesh.
Takeuchi peaked with Akiha
Why is UBW considered the best route?
>But she isn't
>Her and her sister's power is even important plot point
Just because its a plotpoint doesnt mean that its power on the scale of literally everyone else in the setting unlike the Tohnos or Shiki she and Hisui are completely human.
Nasu and Butcher think romantic relationships are based on hormones and sex/lust. Look at CCC and you get an idea of what Nasu's views are.
(true end)
>Turns out the evil nun was behind everything
>Kill her
>You and Sakura become real people on Earth, decide to fix the planet rather than giving up on it. Symbolic of getting your life together already, and fixing shit rather than living a cyber life of fantasy that doesn't amount to anything. (maybe)
>Say goodbye to your servant, symbolic of letting go to Otaku trends and becoming a real adult
>Mooncell resets itself because it can't handle this bullshit
>Maybe a new Hakuno and new war unfold in the wake, since all the contestants are reset.
Extella forgets all this and completely fucks up the theme about moving on. Decides that living a cyber fantasy forever is the best actually.
Nero end
>You and Nero become rulers of Mooncell, kinda like Extella
Archer end
>Archer fails to save you, but it flashes back/forward to the same year showing that Archer when he was still alive met and trained yourself on earth briefly
Tamamo end
>Tamamo beats up Mooncell and humans conquer it, but a new threat called the Tamamo Nine are now causing trouble in the Mooncell
Gilgamesh end
>Gilgamesh finishes the war with you in Extra route
>He can't handle Mooncell deleting you at the end despite you being the winner
>He teleports you and himself to an alien hub world 14,000 light years away
>Lot of flowery text over how this is what humanity can become if they reach the stars, and both of you are now Lv1 explorers of a new frontier that neither of you can ever have imagined before. Nasu's favorite end apparently. The dream of humanity to break past the planet and explore space.
You really need to kill yourself, you are oozing onions.
Because it focuses on the best character
>It's a fake fan outs himself as a poser by so much as suggesting any of the three routes is a "canon" route and more real than the other two episode
Eternally untranslated on a dead console.
my understanding is the translation itself is done but they are having a hard time injecting it into the game.
He can't pull off domineering expressions or body language to save his life anymore, it's a damn shame.
If she's the peak it's only because her giraffe neck makes her the tallest by default
>it's an user still holds onto the concept of Nasuverse and Zelretch despite the hack himself completely ignoring said ideas for years episode
It's the hypest route and Shirou actually grows a pair in it.
Other routes are just as good in different ways, but shounen kiddies gonna shounen
>mfw nothing ever made me as hard as Akihas monologue on how ruining a painting makes it yours and her schlicking to Kohaku sucking you off
Bet you think Ron is gay and Hermione is black too brainlet.
It's my least favorite, just even more reliant on asspulls than the other 2 routes and that's saying something.
A cat is fine, too.
What asspulls?
I like both
>"And there you go. You heard her, Iri. Our Heroic Spirit over there considers a battlefield to be better than Hell. What a joke. A battlefield is Hell itself. There's no hope to be had on one. There is nothing but unspeakable despair. Just a soulless crime we call victory, paid for by the pain of the defeated. But humanity has never recognized this truth. And the reason is that, in every era, a dazzling hero has blinded the people with their legends, and kept them from seeing the evil of bloodshed they bring. True human nature has not advanced a step beyond the Stone Age."
What did Keanu Reeves mean by this?
VNs aren't games, fuck off weebcuck
Is this not a game?
Umineko is better
>A visual novel (ビジュアルノベル bijuaru noberu) is an interactive game genre
>a form of adventure game
Kiara just wanted to fuck you.
Not what I was going for. My intent was to say don't take Nasu's word as gospel since he changes his mind all the goddamn time. The three routes are a linear progression anyway. Shirou even retains memories from one to another.
What version of Gilgamesh is this?
i played fsn back in 2008
Havent played fha since i stopped holding my breath for a full translation since 2009, i heard its translated but im so over type shit to muster any fuck to finally read it
>there are people posting in this thread RIGHT NOW that didn't beat all Hanafuda storylines
Tsuki and KnK really awakened my inner masochist. God bless the old, more jaded Nasu.
She WON
VNs aren't real games
Too complicated to implement
I have good taste and avoid generic harem flavor of the month animeme like fateshit where the worst girl wins
GTFO here with your disgusting hentai VNs. Take that shit over to /jp/ or /h/. Visual novels aren't games.
Her Prize was an Uterus full of worms. Its canon that due to Zouken her womb is barren and they will never have kids.
fuck you, the far side routes in tsukihime >*
Except the kohaku route which is basically Hisui Route:Endgame. Boring as shit until the very last night where you fight Akiha
fate zero kinda killed the series
No, it was FGO.
>Tsuki and KnK really awakened my inner masochist. God bless the old, more jaded Nasu.
What was jaded in Tsuki and KnK?
No. Fate is alive. Contrarians and new gen memers from Yea Forums killed fate threads
It's creatively dead. I have no idea why people buy into it as much as they do.
How good is the scene where Shirou shags Rider?
>It's creatively dead
What? If anything it is creatively alive. FGO has absolutely crazy lore, setting and concepts. Hell every new Fate game has crazy concepts. Look at Extella. It is interesting enough so people discuss lore 24/7. And everything happens in ongoing right.
>It's creatively dead. I have no idea why people buy into it as much as they do.
When did Nasu become creatively dead?
To be honest i would be fine if it got the anime adoption instead of apocrypha (no i don't care about that single OVA i want the entire thing)
>If anything it is creatively alive
A sakuraface is one of the evils of humanity, how the fuck can you call it creatively alive?
Also
>Extella
>Creatively alive
Did this shit ever got a anime adoption? I have a fetish for magus shit like with typemoon universe and index
Thats all you can post? Wildest simplification of game event? Are you secondary who just hates FGO? If yes, just don't reply.
Hell, a lot of people never beat the first route.
>To be honest i would be fine if it got the anime adoption instead of apocrypha (no i don't care about that single OVA i want the entire thing)
They can't adapt it until it's finished
VNs arent games also fate is a shitty series
Extella is Extra but with an even shittier story wherein fanservice is emphasized at the cost of everything else.
It's a series that has never interested me on a conceptual level.
What is so hard to understand about that?
not video games. Go to Yea Forums or /trash/
i dont read chuuni crap
>and Fate/hollow ataraxia VN
wait the translation was finished?
download link of a patched game?
>wait the translation was finished?
It took a hero, but it was indeed finished.
It's been done for years.... Just check the posts above or go to /typemoon/ general
I love this post.
>I've had sex with a real person before
Why are you lying on an anonymous imageboard user?
Extella has interesting concept such a quantum timelock. Nasu goes into meta and cosmology with Extraverse and FGO. This is beyond what he can do with DAA in Tsuki settings. Mahou magic part is close.
Today I will remind them.
I really want to read die irae, too bad i have zero patience or the courage on reading a 60 hour text with images i just have other things that i can play or i can just watch animes but i like the themes it has, it really sucks when you have a good pc rig and VNs turn you off because you can finally do stuff you never could aside from runescape and vns all the time
>her face
>her soul
Yes, like a year ago.
God I fucking hate it when japanese games have fully working 3D models that can show expression yet they force oversized 2D art all over the text box.
And then digimon cyber sleuth... holy shit that game was like a parody it was such a fucking mess.
For some reason I like Gilgamesh now more than years ago, even compared to the Fate waifus. Wish I had the patience to play FGO.
60hour text is around LotR size. "The Brothers Karamazov" book size.
It is PSP game after all
more like fate/GAY night lmao
>does an eroge have sex scenes
jeez i dunno
>Wish I had the patience to play FGO.
Don't. Just read it on youtube. Camelot+Babylon+Time Temple is ~35 hours long VN
first day on Yea Forums huh?
It's psp game running 480x272 on 4" screen
As expected of the King of Jobbers.
>tfw nobody ever saved the whole thing because the only one who cared was a dangerously-retarded Lancelot fanboy
I want to know how it ends
Fate's Shirow turns into UBW archer, UBW Shirou turns into HF Archer, HF Shirou turns into Fate archer, its a neverending shit cicle
Yes, all the meta like “why we can have 20 versions of Saber and they are all the same but still different so spend more” or “let’s make another historical figure a girl for little reason”. The really intricate cosmology stuff is already there in KnK, the stuff from FGO and Extella is just tacked on awkwardly after the fact.
I made that image a while ago because I thought it was funny. Gilgamesh is freed and fucks off in vimana. Haven't finished the third "route" yet though.
That Saber suddenly turned into chivalry fag in zero.
I already tried playing FGO a couple of times but I just couldn't keep playing, its a shame since I really would have liked to have a couple of Gilgs to fool around and laugh at nerds.
Shame it shits itself for 3 routes and adds garbage for depth.
Anything with wilhelm was kino tho.
Come on user
.Not only adaptation was probably worse than Umineko and Tsukihime except maybe last 3 episodes but company itself is now bankrupt. They tried to run on gacha train and lost everything.
Why the fuck did they get mad at him for doing what no one else was willing to do? He just wanted to give everyone a gift and these autismos spat on him. Seeing someone accomplish such a good deed and seeing it go unrewarded isn't right
Yeah that was kinda fucked up considering she tries to straight up behead Ilya upon first meeting her in F/SN.
The image I posted was from a dogshit musou called Fate/Extella Link. Not worth playing. None of the Fate games are good.
Just read the VN -> Watch Fate/Zero -> Watch F/SN: Unlimited Blade Works -> Watch the HF movies.
He doesn't show up there either.
Uro butchered get it the characters of Kiritsugu, Kirei and Saber to try and forcefully inject drama into his story and the whole series suffers for it. He literally couldn't get an effective argument against SN Saber despite her numerous flaws so he had to turn her into a weak-willed strawman little girl he could force to cry.
Fan translators made a clique and held HA hostage out of spite. Gamecreater16 put a fire under their asses and forced them to finish the job.
Because he stole their thunder and exposed that they were lying about the scope and difficulty of the project to stretch out attention and praise.
Already done that user, just except to watch the HF movie. Read the vn when Extella wasn't translated yet.
There is a reason their gatcha can't make any money.
That’s what a hero of justice does
I meant to say Fate/hollow Ataraxia.
Yes! Yes!
inb4 he posts that sales chart of F/GO at the end of a literal three-week period with no new rate-ups and pretends it's taken from the release of new units and is flipping
I really wish they gave her a route.
Translation is serous business. KnK was untranslated for decade. But when one guy translated everything in 3 month his translation was trashed on BL. Quality of translation is always hot topic in /vn/, Yea Forums and /jp/. Even JOPs shitting at each others.
>immediately starts trying to take it down
He should've told them to suck his nuts, what a beta.
One glace tells me Fate is garbage.
The fuck?
Kotomine fused with Lancer?
So that shit happened before Prisma Illya?
I don't play generic weeb shit.
What the fuck are you on about?
Retard. That's just Lancer with his hair messed up.
Takeuchi just can't draw worth shit.
Like how Archer has massive fucking gorilla arms.
I'd think you love generic shit considering the generic reply you just gave.
This is advanced retard.
Damn, I just hope he knows that he is a seigi no mikata for going against these corrupt assholes.
How did Uro butcher Kiritsugu and Kirei?
I don't play fucking furry shit either
>S/N Kiritsugu: Emotionally dead wannabe hero that does extremely heinous things to achieve his goals, but "winning" the war cost him so much that he cast away his ideals and embraced his family, Shirou, above all else. Spent the rest of his life desperately trying to rescue Illya from the Einzberns while directing Shirou to stay away from his lifestyle to spare him the pain
>Zero Kiritsugu: Man-baby who pulls his punches through the whole story to avoid harming innocents, completely blunting the point of his example to Shirou. Has a childish, insane grudge against Saber to introduce a conflict that didn't exist in the VN's version. Also, lol shoote dotter for edge value
Hit enter too early
>Instead of trying to avert Shirou from a hero's lifestyle happily passes on the burden in his last moments.
>S/N Kirei: Thoroughly evil, introspective man who questions the value of his own life if he cannot do good and cannot see the worth in good deeds as God intends. Seeks to create Angry Manjew to answer the questions about himself and his own nature he never found a satisfactory answer to.
>Zero Kirei: Utterly blank slate who only exists as a foil for Gilgamesh and a random encounter for members of the Emiya/Einzbern faction. Is caught up in the Kariya subplot which automatically lessens the quality of any character it touches.
Yeah stuff like fate and dies irae is for braindead monkeys who drool all over themselves thinking they are so deep when they are not.
Yea clearly biased against Zero Kiritsugu who is tragic character unless this is copypasta from Fai.
>He literally couldn't get an effective argument against SN Saber despite her numerous flaws so he had to turn her into a weak-willed strawman little girl he could force to cry.
Which was asked and planned by Nasu, he told Butcher to make Saber's character about "getting bullied" by Gilgamesh and Alexander. Butcher just wanted to write the Matou family and Waver.
The only thing Nasu shot down from Urobuchi was Kariya's original death scene, which Nasu thought was so over the top and cruel that he forced Butcher to change it. It's unknown how Butcher originally wrote the scene, but it was enough to piss off Nasu and make him ask "WHAT COLOR IS YOUR BLOOD?!"
About Gil FZ was the one that gave him popularity, not CCC. Nasu obviously wants to upstage Uro's version of Gil so he wrote him into CCC. The reason why Nasu cares so much about Nero is pure inferiority complex. He accepted he made Nero in order to surpass Uro's Iskandar, and she turned out to be a big failure. He keep pushing her because he still wants her to be better than Iskandar. Of course his pride is shattered when he realizes people don't like Nero.
>Accel Zero
All we know is that it was darker than Zero, and his main input was "Would it be fine if I just killed these characters and ended it there?". To which Nasu said "That's not what this story is supposed to be about".
Nasu's stories have always had dark elements, (the Church's basement, Angra Mainyu, the entirety of Sakura) but at least these things fit and make sense in the general context of the story . They are supposed to make you recoil in disgust, it's why the basement doesn't have a CG as your mind makes it worse just by imagining it, but Uro revels in the disgusting shit.
IT would be an interesting story to take this fantasy and turn into a mystery. A certain detective would have fun with it.
I really want to see Beato use Tsukihime as a game board against Battler and see if he's able to discover the mysteries of this. It's not actually that far fetched since Ciel is in Higurashi and you could even have Lambdadelta give Kohaku her blessing for her determination towards the singular goal of no longer being a doll.
How does Zero ruin him when he’s like the way Shirou remembers him due to the events of Zero? I legitimately don’t understand what point you’re trying to make, everything you hear about him is purely second hand accounts
Gil is an absolute non-character in F/S N that is only made to be the ultimate opponent to the MC (the chad that has it all and tries to steal away your gf in the shitty romantic route/the absolute incarnation of the Saturday morning cartoon villain in the retarded heroic route) and the writing's strings are so visible it's painful. Nasu didn't even know what to do with this guy in HF so he used it as bait and switch to show how reality-breaking Sakura is. At least, based Uro made him a truly consistent and interesting characters in Zero
>user exclusively criticizes Kiritsugu, Kirei and Saber
>Shitposting urofag immediately tries to derail the argument to try and make it all about FZ Gilgamesh and "defend" him from things user never even said
What the fuck is wrong with you
Where does it say that? Zouken said he was going to use her to get more Matous
it disturbs me how shitty the cgs, character sprites in tsukihime are
but the art direction on akiha looks a few years forward
>user
>urofag
You just exposed yourself.
Have you ever heard Fatefags whine about "secondaries" and assumed they were being elitist fags? Well, they were, but they're one of the only fanbases with a legitimate reason to be that way, because this is what Fate secondaries are. Absolute cancer.
Tell me with a straight face that I'm wrong, dipshit.
My computer died after I started Heaven's Feel. I could just watch it online I guess, but I'd rather go through it myself.
Ciel was pretty cute in higurashi
>The melty blood reference in those after chapter talk sessions where she btfos Keiichi, Ooishi, Tomitake, and Irie with her Arc drive
SOUL
You use tern "urofag". You're typical shitposter and I'm sure samefag. Classic F/Z vs F/SN thread shitposting.
>heaven's feel ending shirou is just a cheap copy that can't even trace and will die if he stop fucking girls
why nasu hates shirou so much? i refuse to accept heaven feel as canon.
I have better things to do than play some shitty VN
ETERNAL reminder:
>Uro: Unlike Fate/Zero, where all the main characters are older, this one has lots of cute heroines! Fate/stay night was originally conceptualized as a bishojo game, so the very individual theme of "romance" was placed at the core. It had to be written from Shirou's point of view. So then I thought, I have this really powerful core idea of all these Eiyuu (heroic spirits) engaged in a Battle Royale, so why not draw their story from multiple point of views? That's why I tried to work more main characters into Fate/Zero other than simply Kiritsugu and Kirei.
>Nasu: I had no other choice but to make Fate/stay night the way I did for that bishojo game format. That was one of the reasons why I once said to Urobuchi, "I don't think I can make bishojo games anymore." The more you pour both what the author wants to draw and romance elements that will excite the users into a work, the more distant they get from each other... that was my dilemma. I think Fate/stay night does lack that "battle royale" atmosphere, but I really wanted to make it a work that would make the users want to get to know Saber and Rin better, or cuddle with Sakura.
I really liked the part where Irie uses his "Maid in heaven" RM to save everyone in the last episode.
>You called me a mean name and triggered me, that means I don't have to acknowledge anything you said
Actually a fucking baby
>lives with rider who is able to exist even after the ritual ends because sakura has a billion MP
Eh, Worth it.
He has to train but will be able to access his magic again, and the fucking to live thing is both temporary and a non-issue with Sakura around. Jesus user you're almost as bad as the people who think HF is the only canon route.
>wtf why do prequel characters act differently than they do in the original work
The only thing I agree with is Saber, the rest of your criticism is non sensical
Takeuchi just poured SOUL into her CGs
i love her bros
The reason I have no interest in getting into Fate is because every time someone asks a question like this there's inevitably a response like "don't listen to these retards. Here's the order. It's the only way that makes sense", and there are immediately five other people disagreeing, each with their own proposed orders. Miss me that bloated clusterfuck.
No, user. I just can see through your ruse. Nothing special.
Gilgamesh was popular from F/SN. You're overestimating the influence of F/Z. The only reason secondaries fellate it as much as they do was because it had the first decent anime adaptation.
Vampires aren’t real though
The fandom is better off without an additional 30 iq cretin like you.
don't listen to these retards. Here's the order. It's the only way that makes sense
>1. Fate/stay night
>2. Fate/hollow ataraxia
>3. Fate/zero
people who say to watch f/z first annoy the hell out of me, it outright spoils some shit thats supposed to be a surprise to learn about in f/sn
Me too user. She made me fall in love with pretending personalities. I don't love anyone else nearly as much as her except maybe Misaki
>Gilgamesh was popular from F/SN
Are you sure?
it will be announced at this year TGS r-right bros?
Fate Zero is unironically worse than Fate Stay Night fuck secondary fags
Not being a literal face of the franchise doesn't mean he was unpopular. He got plenty of love in the fandisk despite it being made almost concurrently with Zero.
So how do you explain the serial murders that were happening during the time that Tohno Shiki was in his room?
Who cares? Remake will be untranslated.
pussy hehe
You can rest easy, they even say it in that pic, the man became a LEGEND, the absolute madman
Well we just talk about F/SN. F/HA made a lot characters shine.
that one is a dream so it's not canon
Well, Shiki is adopted, right? But Akiha has mentioned a brother by blood. What happened to THAT guy?
According to old ass character popularity polls, yes.
EASY, his non-blood related brother with the same name carried out the murders, with there also being no proof of any sort of magic mumbo jumbo due to there being no witnesses. Get fucked witch
Umineko hijack LOL.
Post F/SN? Isn't we only have post F/HA?
>Hollow Ataraxia identifies the precise moment UBW Shirou busts a nut inside of Rin and conceives their child
I'm pretty sure that game is where my impreg fetish comes from.
im pretty sure i will lose my virginity before it happens so in approximately it will release in never
I'm struggling to find character pre-HA character polls on TM's shitty website, but I don't think HA had any major character developments for Gilgamesh, and surely a couple of goofy scenes can't account for the entirety of his popularity.
I'd give saber my burger if you know what i mean
Say, uh... what kinda boigah you got there? Looks tasty...
gilgamesh is a major villain for 2 of the 3 routes of course he is popular
He DID get to go ham in HA at the end.
BBros we're getting the translstion this year, right
I know fujos likes his character type.
>Remake will be untranslated.
The international TYPE moon fanbase is like 100x bigger now than when tsukihime fan translation was released in sure it will get translated
For the sake of clarity I will use SHIKI to refer to the brother of Akiha by blood and Shiki to refer to the one that was adopted. The dates as given aren't specified so the timeline of the events will be referred to as days 1-11.
Now my post will contain a red truth that will undo those feeble theories.
So what's your response?
Only FGO shit.
Fate extra is the only good game in the series
Ironic because Hisui is his favorite character
Saber before Saber
The murders of the remaining nights were carried out by a copycat killer, clearly. Perhaps one of the maids?
I intend to defend the illusion of the vampires of the town till the very end
How about season 5 bitch?
Is that the best you could come up with you stupid idiot BATTTTTTLERRRRRR. With a single flash of red your theory shall be destroyed like a corpse with a small food bomb.
Taiga is best girl.
Fatefags, for all eternity you'll have to face the fact that Gacha killed your franchise lmao.
I like S4. Despite bad direction and CG.
BLUE TRUTH: Shiki had an accident when he was a child that left him traumatized, that alongside with the stress of moving back into the Tohno house had him develop a second personality - S H I K I. This way ''Shiki'' didn't commit any crimes!
Could be worse. Could have been killed by a GT-tier "sequel" anime that ruins all the old characters. Or by a shitty fetish like anal or NTR completely subsuming all doujins of the series.
no less embarassing than the Fighting game made in 00s
Very true.
You have no idea
>BLUE TRUTH: Shiki had an accident when he was a child that left him traumatized, that alongside with the stress of moving back into the Tohno house had him develop a second personality - S H I K I. This way ''Shiki'' didn't commit any crimes!
AHAHAHAHA
youtube.com
This is the best a stupid human can do? Let me dispel this stupid notion. How else can you work your way around this?
Nobody will even debate this.
Bruh even CCC isn't translated yet and it has a shitty event in that trash fgo.
>that one doujin of sakura getting carried back to a homeless man's shack to be used as a cumdump and drink his piss
>"playing" anything Fate related
the call of duty of visual novels.
I've got it! SHIKI and Akiha WERE the ones performing the killings, but the true murderer directing their actions was Kohaku herself! She has the motive and the means, and we already know her current personality is a mask - it all sounds like an elaborate cover to me.
h-heh heh...Nobody saw Shiki at night after SHIKI died so it couldn't be Shiki
Because i'm not huge on VNs and Fate doesn't really interest me. I liked EXTRA.
Truth
Dies's gacha never came ou, the company folded
Hollow Ataraxia was so great. Really glad it got translated after waiting for so long.
Yeah, now I just need an anime ending.
Of course
She is also the strongest
>I've got it! SHIKI and Akiha WERE the ones performing the killings, but the true murderer directing their actions was Kohaku herself! She has the motive and the means, and we already know her current personality is a mask - it all sounds like an elaborate cover to me.
A loveless human can never understand a witch's heart.
I have no need to respond to such a stupid statement.
You can't "play" picture books.
But there's only two fate visual novels which released 10 years ago.
I read FSN and UBW essentially back to back fucking ages ago, they were my first VNs. But then I got burned out so hard I still haven't read HF or gone onto HA. And then I learned VNs had multiple endings which I also should've gone for and that's pretty much my story. I want to say I've read them all but I've pretty much given up. Really annoyed at dropping it before HF though because apparently that's the closest thing to an Illya route there is.
I don't play VNs.
Read Higurashi and Umineko
I don't play gay ass anime games because they are for lonely losers
Remember to stop reading Umineko after chapter 4. No enjoyment to gain afterward.
>Shirou even retains memories from one to another.
Fucking brainlet speedreader
This user is witch. Don't listen him
I read Umineko entirely and I'm in chapter 3 of Higurashi but can't make myself read more
It was a mistake to start with Umineko, I miss the incredible music and the magic debates
Is this some meme list?
Hate me all you want for speaking the truth, it won't change this fact. Chiru is garbage and stop focusing on what made Umineko so great in the first place!
At least chapter 5 and 6 did, I dropped it after getting to the end of 6.
While I agree that Carnival Phantasm is the most ambitious crossover, I like F/Z too
I'd have to slog through a seibah route and a slightly better redman route to finally get to the interesting route
But I enjoyed it quite a bit. Episode 5 being my favorite.
The way I proceeded through Higurashi is I challenged myself to figure out the cause of the murders and the culprit. I also really liked Bern and wanted to understand her better. Especially after reading her letter.
youtube.com
What version are you reading for Higurashi?
Because Chaos; games are better and if I want porn I would just play a Lilithsoft game.
Wherever you are doujin user please slap me with a update.
I should also add that with Saku being added soon that I feel like Higurashi has given me a lot of ideas on what might happen in Saku.
Higurashi gets good music starting at chapter 5
HA was great. Less tedious to read due to the structure, more backstory to servants and it had bazett. I far prefer it to stay night
>And then I learned VNs had multiple endings which I also should've gone for
Excluding bad ends (of which there's really only 1 must read in HF), there's only alternate ending for UBW and for HF. Fate route only has 1 ending. You really should pick it back up. HF has some of the lowest lows, but easily the highest highs of the whole VN. Always remember that you can read the endings you missed on youtube. I've never gotten UBW's good end and I've been a fan of Type-Moon since ~2008.
>Really annoyed at dropping it before HF though because apparently that's the closest thing to an Illya route there is.
In the original VN, yes. Prisma Illya is the true Illya route, though.
I'm reading the steam version with the patch, it looks like this
Yeah, I read that one of the best composers made free music for Higurashi
Fate hit its peak here
>But I enjoyed it quite a bit. Episode 5 being my favorite.
I'll never be able to understand that. I pretty much skipped half of it because the writing took a nosedive and the blue cunt existence was so insufferable I couldn't enjoy reading her at all.
The mystery also took far, far too much space instead of focusing on characters and Ryukishi kept preaching his fucking bullshit ''truth'' hard enough that I felt legitimately insulted as I kept reading. I don't need a 6+ hours rant to know that ''truth is subjective'' you fucking hack.
The atmosphere of the story changes so drastically that I found nothing enjoyable at all. It's such a tragic waste of phenomenal potential.
is there any way to play it in english on either a psp/vita, 3ds, ps3, or switch?
it's not a game
>Chiru is garbage and stop focusing on what made Umineko so great in the first place!
If you fan of mystery detective parts - yes. I understand why. But I'm was ready for "genre" shift. Can enjoy both.
I think he's busy
I was actually enjoying the characters of Umineko and the Ushiromiya family far, far more than the mysteries.
type moon peaked with KnK
>he STILL hasn't played Fate/stay night and Fate/hollow ataraxia VN
>What's your fucking excuse?
im not a faggot like you
I still remember this. It was a hot summer day and I had finished reading SN a few months before and was playing through Extra. The meltdown on BL and from that faggot Jack was amazing. Bless gamecreater, wherever he is.
is narita's shit worth reading
figured I might as well read the rest of DRRR since the chance of another season practically doesn't exists
Any porn with Illya?
anyone?
But I literally just finished F/HA. What do I read now if I want more Nasu.
I did "play" FSN. It was shit. So was Steins;Gate.
Fuck VNs. Garbage genre only good for legitimate porn.
FGO's Camelot and Babylon. Though the anime is coming soon.
Tsukihime and related material if you somehow haven't read those.
Prisma is better than porn.
it's an animated picture book lmao
Become a DDDCHAD
>I'm reading the steam version with the patch, it looks like this
SO same version as me. It took me a while to get into it, but I really saw the beauty of it happen during the answer arcs once the characters' motivations are made clear.
>I pretty much skipped half of it because the writing took a nosedive and the blue cunt existence was so insufferable I couldn't enjoy reading her at all.
I didn't mind the writing at all during episode 5. I liked Erika because she forced Battler to understand why someone would hide the truth or cover the truth up. I enjoyed Battler being forced into a different view of things since it showed that he was maturing.
>Ryukishi kept preaching his fucking bullshit ''truth'' hard enough that I felt legitimately insulted as I kept reading
It never felt preachy to me so that explains that difference.
>The atmosphere of the story changes so drastically that I found nothing enjoyable at all. It's such a tragic waste of phenomenal potential.
To me it felt like the appropriate follow up to the mysteries and the characters in the first part. Especially in the 6th episode where Beatrice comes back.
>his translation was trashed on BL.
BL is fucking awful about that. Did the same thing to the CCC guy when several of their members couldn't even get out of the prologue. Any translation that doesn't come from one of their members is default shit. Funnily enough, one of their members works on FGO NA and that's widely regarded as the worst translation by far.
Isn't there also a bunch of manga related to F/SN and HA? Is any of that worth reading?
On an unrelated note I also have Maitetsu to read but 5 hours in it's still such a slog for me. Does it ever get better or should I just drop it.
>Tsukihime
Just wait for the remake. I've been waiting for 10 years. I wanna die.
>I didn't mind the writing at all during episode 5. I liked Erika because she forced Battler to understand why someone would hide the truth or cover the truth up. I enjoyed Battler being forced into a different view of things since it showed that he was maturing.
Which came as forced and far, far too late for me. He already went through plenty of trauma and maturing during episodes 2 to 4, keeping him as a moron really felt jarring.
>It never felt preachy to me so that explains that difference.
It's an underlying message that's never really mentioned but always understood throughout the episodes, but then ep 6 just come straight out and drowned me in a concept I already fully understood. It honestly felt like the author was ranting to his reader, which is never a good impression to get when you're supposed to be immersed in the story.
>To me it felt like the appropriate follow up to the mysteries and the characters in the first part. Especially in the 6th episode where Beatrice comes back.
A climax that was eroded of all feelings of joy as far as I was concerned for Battler was still an ungodly retarded moron who refused to grow, making the witches far less threatening. There was plenty of good stuff to follow up on from the earlier episodes but Erika just produced frustrating padding that killed all enjoyment in the story.
Deen's UBW
>Isn't there also a bunch of manga related to F/SN and HA? Is any of that worth reading?
Don't think they're written by Nasu though.
>there's only alternate ending for UBW and for HF
This I did not know. I was under the impression that all the parts had multiple endings, like upwards of 4, which is what I usually saw in other VNs. Thanks for letting me know. That misunderstanding is a lot of what kept me from going back because of how long it took me just to reach the ending once, its good to know I've at least completed FSN fully.
>read the endings you missed on youtube
Any particular channels you recommend or is this just something I search for easily?
>Prisma illya is the true route
is this for real canon or is that just the meme? Thanks for your help either way.
Yeah you're a faggot all on your own, don't need my help for taht.
>So strong that despite being a regular human, her skill shocked Saber and made her unleash her full strength because she forgot she wasn't fighting a Servant
I've never read Umineko, would you mind explaining to me what the red truths mean? I'd been assuming they were just facts revealed by a certain party/character, but if they contradict the actual truth of things then I'm a little lost as to their meaning.
>He already went through plenty of trauma and maturing during episodes 2 to 4
I never perceived that. His reasoning skills got marginally better since Beatrice had her furniture spoonfeeding him responses, but at the same time he was focused on the wrong things during the 2-4 episodes. He was more interested in defeating the witch rather than understanding the nature of Rokkenjima or people there. He was doing his damnedest to keep his head in the sand and for that Beatrice died.
>It honestly felt like the author was ranting to his reader, which is never a good impression to get when you're supposed to be immersed in the story.
I just never got that impression. For me it more felt like battler finally understanding the true nature of the game as a cat box done to hopefully help him understand Beatrice.
>A climax that was eroded of all feelings of joy as far as I was concerned for Battler was still an ungodly retarded moron who refused to grow, making the witches far less threatening
That's sort of essential to Battler. He's a moron who always forgets important things and that causes people to get hurt. It's also rule Z as stated in the Umineko manga.
The picture contains actual spoilers so you should only read it if you are already aware of some of these things.
But is she the sexiest?
Those were probably bad endings, which aren't really necessary to the story. Like I said, there's only 1 that I consider can't-be-missed. For the actual endings:
Fate only has one ending, though there's kind of an epilogue to the entire VN called Last Episode. You can watch it now on youtube if you'd like, since it only covers Fate route plot stuff.
UBW has a True End, which ends with you meeting up with Rin and promise to go to London with her, and a Good End, where Saber doesn't disappear, so you all live together and it's implied you have kinky 3-ways to help Rin maintain Saber.
HF has a Normal End (which you're forced to get once, I think) and a Good End (You get this one by reloading a save making the right choice; happens right after the final fight). If you don't stumble onto the bad end by yourself: either reload a save and refuse to get any more help for the last battle or look up "Sparks Liner High". I call it a bad end, but even the game considers it such a good ending that it doesn't refer to it as such.
>Any particular channels you recommend or is this just something I search for easily?
You'd be able to find it easily. It's been out for ~11 years, so there's plenty of silent recordings of it by now.
>is this for real canon or is that just the meme?
Bit of both. Check it out and see if you like it. The only downside is that it's pretty obvious from the outset that this is a different Illya. But stick through, it's a slow burn for sure but it gets better and better as time goes on. I recommend both manga and anime. Manga has much better art and less SOL filler, but anime is good for certain scenes.
Now get back to reading.
Undeniably so. She allegedly turned a prominent /vg/ shitposter into a lesbian
Most of the Fate manga are adaptations
You can just read the original LNs if you want
Besides a couple of ones like Emiya Gohan, CCC Foxtail or Prisma Illya
Tsuki no Sango is a manga that is based off a short story written by Nasu if you want to check that out. It just finished earlier this year. Or you could just read the book version
Sakura is canonically the sexiest and best girl.
Ep 2 is his lowest point and he gets better by 3, then 4 should have fully settled his place as a protagonist with what happened to Ange, but his continued retardation felt like an attempt to keep the story going at the cost of believability.
>I just never got that impression. For me it more felt like battler finally understanding the true nature of the game as a cat box done to hopefully help him understand Beatrice.
No, it went well beyond that. Especially with Featherine lectures to Ange in ep 6 and all the fucking bullshits about ''goats who can only perceive a single truth'' sounding like an allegory for readers who can't read between the line. It was a point that got beat over your head so fucking much that it sapped all of my goodwill to continue.
>That's sort of essential to Battler. He's a moron who always forgets important things and that causes people to get hurt.
It's a rule that should have been made more obvious in the earlier episodes, the fact it didn't and I ended up dropping everything at 6 is more than enough for me to consider this a total failure at storytelling.
I utterly despised Ep 5 and 6, there's no reason to subject myself to more; it's really a tragedy because the first parts were so phenomenal.
>I've never read Umineko, would you mind explaining to me what the red truths mean? I'd been assuming they were just facts revealed by a certain party/character, but if they contradict the actual truth of things then I'm a little lost as to their meaning.
Red truths are truths that can be technically true, but oftentimes betray the spirit of the truth. I will reveal the nature of how I was using the red truth to misdirect someone who wasn't aware of the nature of the story.
For the first red truth in that image
Kohaku never directed the murder of Makihisa or anyone else. She may have sent SHIKI loose after driving him crazy, but because he was like a rabid dog he was not directed to do anything. She also never directed anyone to commit murder. She was indirect in her manipulations. However someone who understood the heart of Kohaku would not be deceived by such wording
For the second
SHIKI and Akiha both commit murders, but never work together. By phrasing it as accomplices I can be truthful while also hiding the fact that they both commit murders.
For the third
I intentionally leave Kohaku in black and then use red to refer to that cheerful girl. I do this to create a situation where someone will assume the cheerful girl refers to Kohaku when it does in fact refer to Hisui from the time she was little.
For the 4th
Kohaku doesn't desire revenge at all. She feels empty after years of trauma and has decided to become a villain in order to escape her feeling of being an empty shell of a person.
To put it simply, red truths are truths that can be used to mislead. However, it won't stop someone who understands the heart of the characters from deducing the truth.
Should I play FHA before watching Zero?
>now get back to reading
kek, fair enough. Thanks for your help in answering my questions and clearing my misunderstandings. I'll be sure to get back into it and I'll definitely check out Prisma Illya. Out of curiosity though, if you had to rank the 3 original VNs and HA in order of best to worst, how would you do it?
Give up on Nasu, it's all downhill from there
Yes
Good to know. I have Tsukihime already so I figure I might as well read that next.
>Ep 2 is his lowest point and he gets better by 3, then 4 should have fully settled his place as a protagonist with what happened to Ange, but his continued retardation felt like an attempt to keep the story going at the cost of believability.
He doesn't solve a single mystery in its entirety in any of the episodes until the 6th where he seemingly realizes that Kanon and Shannon are both actually the same person named Yasuda Sayo. He just isn't good at understanding the nature of what's really happening. Why would you expect the primary protagonist to finish his development by the 4th episode?
>Especially with Featherine lectures to Ange in ep 6 and all the fucking bullshits about ''goats who can only perceive a single truth'' sounding like an allegory for readers who can't read between the line
You would hate episode 8 then. Even I got a bit annoyed with it, but at the same I liked episode 8.
>It's a rule that should have been made more obvious in the earlier episodes, the fact it didn't and I ended up dropping everything at 6 is more than enough for me to consider this a total failure at storytelling.
It was made clear since Beatrice decides to give up on Battler understanding her heart and lets herself die.
I hate to tell you this user, but you are the goat Featherine was referring to
HA>HF high points>UBW>Fate route>HF low points (cooking bullshit)
HF's fights are better than the ones in HA IMO, but HA is just consistently good outside of those fights so it pushes it to the best.
Only “played” the fate route but it was a load of horse shit. What little gameplay there is in making choices is completely disregarded when you secretly get locked out of the ending if you don’t make the right choices. Also even plotwise it sucked, every single enemy they face is defeated by asspull. How Saber beats Gilgamesh is a bigger asspull than any hack shonen writer could even dream of writing.
>He just isn't good at understanding the nature of what's really happening. Why would you expect the primary protagonist to finish his development by the 4th episode?
Because reaching the end of his development isn't necessarily the end of evolution; his resolve was settled so he should have been at least more competent. Still, Battler is honestly the least of my complaints, I liked him despite the incompetence; it's everything surrounding the atmosphere of Chiru that I ended up despising.
>You would hate episode 8 then. Even I got a bit annoyed with it, but at the same I liked episode 8.
It's honestly more a problem about how the general story was framed, the bloated state of the metaworld and all those characters that keep bloating the mystery with useless padding.
>It was made clear since Beatrice decides to give up on Battler understanding her heart and lets herself die.
No, no it wasn't I've read Umineko a few months ago and by that point were seeing everything from Battler pov so there's absolutely no way to know about the maliciousness going on behind the scene. He reaches the truth by the end anyway, so at least Bea didn't die for nothing.
>I hate to tell you this user, but you are the goat Featherine was referring to
I don't think you seem to understand what she was referring to. Each worlds had different truths, not everyone see the world similarly thus their truths differ from others. What I ended up despising is the atmosphere and the way the story was told.
I don't have an attraction to seafood
Each girl gets a couple sex scenes per route. But it's plot related because he has to "transfer mana" by fucking them in order to keep them alive.
how hard is it to 100% kagetsu tohya?
>Still, Battler is honestly the least of my complaints, I liked him despite the incompetence; it's everything surrounding the atmosphere of Chiru that I ended up despising.
Fair enough. I just wanted to respond to that point since you mentioned it.
>It's honestly more a problem about how the general story was framed, the bloated state of the metaworld and all those characters that keep bloating the mystery with useless padding.
I didn't mind it since it was clear to me the moment that there was no 4th Chiester rabbit that the witch's furniture was simply creative liberties taken with Maria's story to try to confuse Battler although some of them were based loosely off of real people. I could understand if you were more angry at the Church characters since it seemed like there were a lot of them. Ciconia may give reason as to why though so I will abstain judgment.
>No, no it wasn't I've read Umineko a few months ago and by that point were seeing everything from Battler pov so there's absolutely no way to know about the maliciousness going on behind the scene.
If this was episode 1 battler I would agree, but after becoming a player in the game and observing things like the Adults' mutual loathing for each other or shit like pic related, he should realize that something is up.
>Each worlds had different truths, not everyone see the world similarly thus their truths differ from others
Oh no I got that especially with the messages in the bottles, but I am more referring to the fact that there were somethings that were clear to me like Battler being an idiot that weren't obvious to others and that affects how the atmosphere is perceived.
I'm not trying to change your preference since all things are valid in the cat box, but I do want to make my perspective clear.
>I could understand if you were more angry at the Church characters since it seemed like there were a lot of them.
Oh yeah, they were my biggest problem. Stakes and rabbits were fine since they were established in Maria segment (which was probably one of the most painful thing I ever read.) But the sudden presence of all these new people unrelated to the island mystery was beyond jarring, it was downright insulting. Hence my problem with everything after ep 4; Dlanor, Eirika, all the metaworld expansion... it was all padding to distract from Rokkenjima that ended up a deal breaker to my enjoyment.
>Oh no I got that especially with the messages in the bottles, but I am more referring to the fact that there were somethings that were clear to me like Battler being an idiot that weren't obvious to others and that affects how the atmosphere is perceived.
I feel like something like that should have been a bit more expanded upon earlier, rule Z should have been a player knowledge without Battler knowing too because it would have made his mistakes much, much more palatable. Still, I just took it in stride, thinking he was just some young 20 years old lad in way over his head, so I don't have much of a problem with him outside feeling that Ange happening at the end of 4 felt like a total waste since he sure as fuck wasn't making any effort to return home.
Rin’s H-scene was Almighty-tier
100% needs a walkthrough to 100%.
Ciel gets her anus filled with spunk. Don't forget that.
I have taste.
>Hence my problem with everything after ep 4; Dlanor, Eirika, all the metaworld expansion... it was all padding to distract from Rokkenjima that ended up a deal breaker to my enjoyment.
For me it wasn't a deal breaker since I quite like Dlanor and Erika didn't bother me. For the nuns, I know at least one of them is in Ciconia so we have to see how she ties in with that and the Okonogi corporation or whatever.
>I feel like something like that should have been a bit more expanded upon earlier, rule Z should have been a player knowledge without Battler knowing too because it would have made his mistakes much, much more palatable
It'd be tough to do something like that in a way that doesn't blatantly spell out the mystery since the way it's phrased in the manga is "Somebody HELP ME. If you manage to solve the mysteries I will cease the murders and if it were him who stopped the mysteries then just maybe..." and if they mention a rule Z then it's clear that there is a rule x and y. Realistically something like "Letter from Bernkastel should've been released as a prologue to Episode 5 so that way people could be aware that there were rules that caused the tragedy without making it too clear what they were. It'd be hard to do something like that though since the rules are tied directly to the tragedy.
>so I don't have much of a problem with him outside feeling that Ange happening at the end of 4 felt like a total waste since he sure as fuck wasn't making any effort to return home.
It's not like it's possible for him to return home from the gameboard he was playing on. The only way I could see him making it out of there is on a different gameboard similar to when Hanyuu managed to reach Akasaka in Higurashi to change the gameboard. I tend to think Bern is trying to get her to wake up so she can set them free but that's my head canon
Wittgenstein? What's that?
fpbp
>For me it wasn't a deal breaker since I quite like Dlanor and Erika didn't bother me. For the nuns, I know at least one of them is in Ciconia so we have to see how she ties in with that and the Okonogi corporation or whatever.
It just felt too much too quickly. Eirika presence ended up ruining my enjoyment of the gameboard and the nuns were total bloat, then the overall metaworld kept expanding so much that I grew apathetic to the plight of the characters.
It's a combination of things, the style of the tale changed so much that it became incompatible to my enjoyment.
>It'd be tough to do something like that in a way that doesn't blatantly spell out the mystery
Something like that is entirely the writer onus. Whether that's fair or not is one own opinion but I believe the story would have improved with the knowledge of something fishy going on with the gameboard/Battler mind.
I've been a gm for years and my own experience with crafting murder mysteries taught me that giving readers/players one important risky hint is a big pay off for their overall enjoyment.
>It's not like it's possible for him to return home from the gameboard he was playing on.
Yeah, I was mainly disappointed that the overall experience of 3 and 4 didn't seem to have affected him much is what I mainly meant.
>I've been a gm for years and my own experience with crafting murder mysteries taught me that giving readers/players one important risky hint is a big pay off for their overall enjoyment.
I mean there were definitely some risks Beato took in crafting her mysteries like in the first episode with the first murders. If George had checked Shannon's corpse that would've been game over right off the bat. Battler wasn't really a player then so that's not his fault, but there were a surprising amount of hints looking back on it.
>Yeah, I was mainly disappointed that the overall experience of 3 and 4 didn't seem to have affected him much is what I mainly meant.
I think it's because by the time that he fixes the Beato being dead problem he recognizes he can't go back
>I've been a gm for years and my own experience with crafting murder mysteries taught me that giving readers/players one important risky hint is a big pay off for their overall enjoyment.
I also should add that the people reading this are people who should be expecting a really challenging mystery that you wouldn't expect in a table top. What games do you gm for? I've done some roll20 star wars table top with some friends, but not much other than that.
I don't have PowerPoint installed
Fate/ Stay Night and Fate/Hollow Ataraxia are the only things someone need to read Fate related.
Everything else is trash and unnecessary.
This look like a VN and I don't play VNs

Hindsight is a beautiful thing.
>I think it's because...
A little something that should have been in the vn to be honest.
Anyhow, I guess we can be gentlemen about this and agree to disagree. I didn't finish Umineko because of the style Chiru went but I can safely say that episode 1-4 is a masterpiece.
>I also should add that the people reading this are people who should be expecting a really challenging mystery that you wouldn't expect in a table top.
Oh I know but it's still important to keep the reader enjoyment in mind; I think the length of Umineko was the problem since other mystery novels don't need that much time to give their important hints.
>What games do you gm for? I've done some roll20 star wars table top with some friends, but not much other than that.
It's been a long time since I did proper tabletop, I've moved my activity online. I did some good old dnd, freeform mostly so there was a whole lot of creativity thrown around; a bunch of adolescent with d20 can bend quite a lot of rules.
Got bored after route 1.
>Hindsight is a beautiful thing.
It is. A good mystery isn't simply revealed on the first read. It's revealed on every read after too.
>A little something that should have been in the vn to be honest.
It was in the last episode and it was alluded to by Bern in the 4th.
>Anyhow, I guess we can be gentlemen about this and agree to disagree. I didn't finish Umineko because of the style Chiru went but I can safely say that episode 1-4 is a masterpiece.
I can respect that. I hope I didn't come off like I was trying to convert you, but rather that I was hoping to bridge the gap between our perspectives, even if only a little.
>Oh I know but it's still important to keep the reader enjoyment in mind; I think the length of Umineko was the problem since other mystery novels don't need that much time to give their important hints.
The mystery in Umineko was rather brutal, but after reading it I was well prepared for reading Higurashi which had an equally brutal mystery, but I was able to figure out the core of it.
>It's been a long time since I did proper tabletop, I've moved my activity online. I did some good old dnd, freeform mostly so there was a whole lot of creativity thrown around; a bunch of adolescent with d20 can bend quite a lot of rules.
I feel like tabletops are better when you aren't a rule autist and have a more creative perspective. We don't need to roll for the size of the shit you drop or do a DEX check for constipation.
A German philosopher from the 20th century who wrote about the limits of language and perception, and is basically the most recent philosopher who everyone recognizes as great. There's one quote of his that goes, "If a lion could speak, we would not be able to understand it." Essentially, a lion's grasp of the world would be so drastically different from ours, that not even a universally human concept like food would be transferable to the lion. I don't really understand this myself, but anyways it's a major point of his, and SubaHibi's entire narrative is modeled after this in how our own perception shapes our mind, so that the world as other people know it becomes incomprehensible to us, and our knowledge of other people is like one long, unknowing exercise in projection.
That sounds pretentious, but there is something there to grasp - it's just very difficult. Imagine it like expounding Plato's cave allegory at length. I haven't read Witt yet, but I look forward to doing so.
>The mystery in Umineko was rather brutal, but after reading it I was well prepared for reading Higurashi which had an equally brutal mystery, but I was able to figure out the core of it.
I actually got into and finished Higurashi before Umineko and thoroughly enjoyed that one, mainly because of things keeping their roots in reality. Metaworld got way too distracting for its own good.
>I feel like tabletops are better when you aren't a rule autist and have a more creative perspective. We don't need to roll for the size of the shit you drop or do a DEX check for constipation.
You and I would be harmonious players then because I've always operated on the premise that narrative/story > everything. A good dm never shows his hand, even if that means manipulating rolls to keep things going for the sake of the story.
I've mainly been writing quests these days, best way to emulate tabletop online without needing too much time.
Of course, being a rule munchkin can work in roguelike sessions; those can be fun in their own ways too.
>I actually got into and finished Higurashi before Umineko and thoroughly enjoyed that one, mainly because of things keeping their roots in reality
I did like how they saved the heavy metaworld stuff till the very end, but that makes sense because you were playing mostly as the pieces in Higurashi's gameboard while in Umineko you were a player on the gameboard.
>I've mainly been writing quests these days, best way to emulate tabletop online without needing too much time.
I had an idea for a one-off where you were called in to take out some bees/ants and you find out that there is an infestation of them deeper in where they are giant sized. Could be done for a variety of settings as a fun quest. I imagine a queen bee/ant being someone you can negotiate with if you have someone who can communicate with them.
>I did like how they saved the heavy metaworld stuff till the very end, but that makes sense because you were playing mostly as the pieces in Higurashi's gameboard while in Umineko you were a player on the gameboard.
Which was handled poorly, I found the game world so much more compelling in Umineko. Alongside the flashbacks.

You'd need to identify for yourself what kind of style you want to run this story with and keep a somewhat consistent tone; could those bees be monstergirls? mutants? dnd monsters? Then you'll also need to set aside a good amount of time because, players being players, they'll inevitably deviate if they get interested in your tale. A one-off could easily be 10 threads if you keep being swept by the flow of your players; prepping has always been a necessity for me.
As for the idea itself, it sounds nice enough in my book.
Absolutely based 07thexpansion hijack. You niggas hyped for WTC5?
it's boring and long as fuck. will never get into such a gay convoluted series
>Which was handled poorly, I found the game world so much more compelling in Umineko. Alongside the flashbacks.
I suppose our primary difference is that I enjoyed the meta world even though I found the game board and the lives of the individuals quite compelling. It probably has to do with my love of the metaphysics of myths as representations of human ideals. The idea of the catbox relates well to my readings of Jung.
>As for the idea itself, it sounds nice enough in my book.
Thank you very much for the advice. I am a novice when it comes to that so you mentioned things that I hadn't thought of.
Absolutely. I am wondering what the Okonogi corporation's presence will be like.
>Thank you very much for the advice. I am a novice when it comes to that so you mentioned things that I hadn't thought of.
I've been running one for close to 6 years now. the best advice I can give you is that new qm often underestimate that quests are a commitment, you gotta be stubborn and keep at it with the few loyal readers you got.

Take a look in the archive for example, some people are running crazy high numbers of concurrent threads. Not gonna shill my own quest even if I'm tempted.
Getting something like a twitter to keep people updated on your schedule is vital too.
Thank you very much for all the civil discussion and all the advice. I appreciate it very much. I wish more threads on Yea Forums could be like this.
I can't believe this shit is still this popular.
I jerked off to Tohsaka's anus literally 10 years ago, and fate was old as fuck back then.
I think I will try Fate now.
of course you will
BB is best girl to tame and dominate
I love the entire big three, but Rin will always be one and only.
