Thinking about trading in my OG PS4 for a switch. Never really play the ps4 mostly just play xbox or pc. Thoughts?

If you've played TLOU and Bloodborne there's nothing else there, unless you're really into Knack. I'd say go for it, the Switch is good and getting better, the PS4 is being swiftly replaced by the PS5. Their release schedule is abysmal and hardly "exclusive."

I plan to, but I'm a little gimped since my Switch won't recognize the left joy con in handheld mode which is how I play most rpgs.

Shovel Knight

Want to get Hollow Knight and Final Fantasy VII while they are on sale. Which one should I start with?

Dragon's Dogma or MHGEN? What's more fun?

MHGU if you can convince a group to play it with you
DD for Single player
Both are massive timesinks but MHGU dwarfs DD. DD is 100 hours and MHGU could easily be played for 1,000

There's a ton of shovelware on the e-shop at this point, I assume there's a handful of hidden gems in there but I don't feel like sifting through everything

I'd probably bet on a hardware revision sometime in 2020 but Nintendo has always kind of sucked at those so I'm not sure if it's worth waiting for.

Oh dang, then how about them new models then? If It's this year, would that be worth It or is a minor sum of changes to actually matter

I bought my Switch over a year ago, hacked it and I literally haven't used it a single time since then. Pokémon and Astral Chain might make me actually use it but I think I'm just getting too old for video games and MMOs have honestly ruined singleplayer games for me.

Also looking forward to FFVIII Remastered, but there's no way in hell I'm paying $60 for a 20 year old game.

Most first party games run at 60fps, with the exception of open world games like botw or xeno
Also indies run just fine on the switch and are more fun than playing on a pc imo

What are some fun games for someone that didn't really grow up with Nintendo?

I want to get a switch because of MUA3 and Pokemon but I feel like I need to justify my purchase more as a lot of games I can play on my PC.

I never played a single Zelda game before BotW and I loved it. Really excited for the sequel now. I suppose you could emulate that on PC though.

Where even this hardware revision meme came out from?
Nintendo hasn't even hinted at it, it was l just a baseless rumor that got huge. And now that Nintendo actually debunked it, the earliest a revision could come is 2020.

Important question for Resident Evil games on Switch

Can you use the joycons to point like the Wiimote in Wii RE games? That was the most kino way to play RE and I genuinely miss it.

Attached: maxresdefault(3).jpg (1280x720, 135K)

Unfortunately not.

I know this feel very well user. There is no hope. Accept it.

only on revelations 2 afaik, and it rocks

Gonna buy the switch tomorrow. What first game should I get? I read everywhere about Zelda. Is it a good choice? Tbh it doesn't appeal to me too much when I watch youtube gameplays.

you idiits better be buying ctr. It's literally goty of all time.

What games do you like?

What games do you generally enjoy?

Is there a new switch model coming out? Don't want to buy it and a better version is released

Xenoblade 2. Finished chapter 4. Holy shit this game is amazing. Playing in handheld like most of the games. I dunno, playing everything in handheld feels... comfy for some reason.

Been playing Travis Strikes Back.
Waiting on the Mana remakes to hit hbgshop.

I will never understand why so few games use the pointing system. It was the best thing of the WiiMote and instead of being a gimmick like motion control it actually added immersion and reduced aiming time in shooters. RE4 Wii edition looked like a revolution for the genre back then but it has been completely abandoned now.

Attached: efd.jpg (403x392, 40K)

I'm about to play FFX for this first time. I was gonna play it on PS4 back then but I heard the bugs really messed up everythnig so I jsut forgot about it.
Anything I should know about before jumping in?

>What are you playing?
BOTW for the first time, my first Switch game and I am having a blast even though at the beginning I thought it was going to be quite boring. This and RDR2 are definitely my favourite open world games.
>What are you waiting for?
Astral Chain is my most anticipated game right now.
I am also kinda thinking of Cadance of Hyrule. What can I expect? I never played the indie game it's based on but the gameplay looks quite fun although I don't know what is going on there.

Switchbros please redpill me on Mario Odyssey.
Everyone is always raving about how its a great Mario game and its currently on sale on the eshop for 30% off which first party games rarely are with nintendo.
I'm intrigued about it but I see people saying that its as short as 10-12 hours long and maybe double that if you go for 100% and extras. I've bought games for a similar price in the past that are that short and I've only ever had regret about spending for a game that's done as early as one sitting. Is it really that short and if so is there any genuine reason to replay it or play it more?

can i hack it without getting banned yet (i want to play a couple games i own legit online)

>have demo of same game in your backlog as well
but why

fair enough

As the Splatoon 2 manual that comes with the special edition says, don't stress yourself, play whatever the fuck you are in the mood at the moment, have fun

it's meh

imo the appeal of BotW is playing your own way, moreso than normal open-world games. Watching someone play it just doesn't translate the same feeling of actually playing it. I'd recommend getting it physically, then just return it if you don't like it or want it digitally.

What's pokemon let's go like for a pokemon nostalgia fag who hasnt really played since platinum?

RPG creed, never delete anything.
At least until your inventory maxes out

Well, pokemon has multi-player option, and it is really well made, you just need to buy a non hacked switch because you are pretty much banned from the online, plus Mario Maker 2 allows to play with another 3 more players at the same time now.

just bought Cuphead on sale. Want to buy a AAA game soon though. Im undecided between FFXII and RE4. I loved RE5, never played the others and I’ve played most FF games except this one and FFXIV. Which one should I cop?

The same thing happened to me, but played it for the first time six months ago, now it's my favorite game of all time and the first open world game I actually enjoyed

Yeah NBA 2K20 is gonna come out like right after the All Star Game so like about 3 months.

If I hacked my Switch, can I continue to use my existing saves?

You post pepes, of course no one gives a shit about you.
You should delete them all and stop being a loser.

i can't be dealing with sitting at a PC more than I need to m8 , sometimes I just gotta lie down

theoretically yes, but you need to stay offline after hacking and every time you want to go online, you will have to flash your backup of the untouched nand/firmware, which will get rid of the custom firmware and all installed games. iirc the internal nand is 32 gb. flashing 32 gb takes a while, you'd be better off getting a minimum wage job for a few days and buying a second switch.
sxos (paid cfw) apparently has emunand, which is supposed to prevent bans in theory, but last time i checked it modified the partitions on the internal storage, which would be trivial for nintendo to detect. ask for more up-to-date infos.

Where's the best place to get a good deal on a switch in the UK?

>You post pepes

Is the Pro controller really worth $50 when I could buy a $10 Gamecube controller adapter?

Try Base . com, refurbished models on Amazon, Shopto, Simply games

It's no masterpiece

Just bought Blazblue Central Fiction SE, the physical asia version because literally everyone got it physical except america.

Pro controller has gyro. Kinda necessary for some games. I'd say the hd rumble is nice for Smash too.

if all you play is smash bros: no
if you want to play other games, the gc controller is sub-par, it's missing buttons and the layout isn't all that great for games that weren't designed with it in mind.

Good (technically great) game though some of the praise it got felt a bit superfluous, needless to say it was probably one of the best games from 2017

Any Nintendo game, that's the thing Nintendo has, their games are addictively fun

If you're talking about eshop games, Lumines Remastered is God Tier. Also Cuphead obviously.

Final Fantasy 12. Once I beat this game I’ll probably go for lapis x laberyinth or mega man x collection.

Splatoon 2 (especially with Octo Expansion) is a must buy. It's also very anime
Odyssey is fun, even fi you dont play it in big bursts
XB2 is good if you like adventure RPGs
Octopath is pretty anime. It's not the best JRPG ever made but it'll scratch the itch.
It's also got some indies that are good for anime experience, like Battlechef Brigade.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I was holding out hope there would be some extra shit that made it more enticing than a small dungeon creater

Good to know.
I'd love to see Nintendo's take on Strategy/4X games.
Pikmin is basically an RTS game, but I'd love to see their take on a 4X or grand strategy genre

BotW is fine for people who don't like traditional 3D Zelda. Its a different genre of game,
MHGU is great
Really though if you don't like ninty games you shouldn't buy a ninty console. I play PC and Nintendo exclusively now because nintendo has the only exclusives I want to play

CTRNF and Astral Chain. I already did my first set of tickets on Pokken and Splatoon 2, I'll chances are get a second set for Astral Chain and Xenoblade 2 given I already got Smash, and games like Oddesy and BotW I just know I'll never finish if I grab them.

>white trash stole my game boy pocket and pokemon silver when I was a kid
I know your rage, better than I'd like.

Are you doing them in Master Mode?

Music is 10/10

Nah. Just added the DLC when I was mostly done with my first playthrough, saving Master Mode for later. I think the farthest I've gotten is like level 12/13 when most of the place is lava and there's a bunch of asshole black moblins

Got my Switch this month.
>playing
SSBU, going to try to pick up a couple games this weekend though.
>waiting for
I'd have to go back and review what all's coming out, but I guess it seems like some cool stuff's coming down the pipeline.

Oh, you should be ok then. Doing them in a normal playthrough was challenging enough for me, in Master Mode it was just pure hell. I might just be a shitter though.

>Pokemon is really well made

No More Heroes 3

Good to hear. Maybe I'll do a Master Mode when BotW 2 is almost here. I still feel like a scrub though. Any tips as someone who's already run through them?

why is nobody talking about the new /mecha/game?
did i miss something?

looks like it's 10fps

It's been a while since I've done the trials but from what I remember it's best not to try rushing through them. You'll inevitably die over and over again so try coming up with a strategy for each level that works. Some can be surprisingly easy. I actually remember the middle trials being more difficult than the final trials. Also make sure to not waste the ancient arrows you get in the final trials, it will make the last few levels much easier.

Well i can live with that
Presentation looked pretty gud

Just bought Pokken. Thinking about picking up Crypt of the Necro-Dancer, Cadence, and Wargroove.

The demo just wasn't fun.

well fuck me, missed the demo...

The demo they did earlier this year had framerate issues up the ass. The recent trailer showed those same issues being there. It's Armor core yes, but it's like 10 FPS armor core and that's a hard pill to swallow.

Delete it then. One is to much.

Can I get pic source?

Anyone pick up anything from the current sale?

When is the new Switch coming out?

It's the one thing I'm waiting for, fuck buying 1st gen products.

I'm considering playing Cadence of Hyrule
Ya guys think it's worth it?

Thanks Anons. Gonna wait for reviews on this

I'm stuck between restarting Hollow Knight or getting Mario x Rabbids or The Last Remnant. I got to the Sunken City in HK but it's been like a year since I stopped playing so I'd want to restart it. But Kingdom Battle looks comfy and fun and I don't think I'll get a better deal on the gold edition. The Last Remnant looks interesting and I'm sort of itching for a new rpg as well.

Thoughts?

Also would FF8 be worth buying once it's out? I hear it's not very good but it's the only PS1-era FF I haven't played

Thanks for the tips. Good luck with your Master Mode run!

I bought Hallow Knight. I've only played like three minutes of it but I can tell I'll enjoy it.

I doubt I'll ever get through the trials in Master Mode but thanks anyways! Talking about it has kind of gotten my motivation up again though, so I think I'll try again tomorrow for the first time in a long fucking while.

THere was a thread before
It looks good, FPS is solved for most instances EXCEPT in multiplayer
The boss fight they showed off was good though
If they can spend the next three months just polishing up the frame rate, it’ll be golden

I've just started Torna DLC, it's pretty good so far, but I miss my husband Rex.

Finished Yoshi and RE4 yesterday.

I'm waiting for DQ11 and Astral Chain! But I will try Fire Emblem too.

Download some of the demos for games that look interesting to you on the eShop.

>Also would FF8 be worth buying once it's out? I hear it's not very good but it's the only PS1-era FF I haven't played
Wat. I often hear people saying its the best FF of all time.

For me, it's MUA3

Cancelled my Fire Emblem preorder, it just looks too shit. Still looking forward to Mario though. On the fence about Astral Chain.

I have a brand new LG C9 OLED tv, but the newest console I have is a N64. Should I get a switch?

Had to buy new joycons cause my right joycon is fucking up and moving my character everywhere and I can't play comfily

Did they ever fix it? I wanted to get it but heard the console versions have issues.

If there are enough Switch games that interest you, sure.

>Tfw I won't be able to buy vidya regularly like I used to until September
Don't get a girlfriend, bros. Shit sucks.

How is Fear Effect Sedna?

I want a non fighter online game I can waste hours on
Anything good I no that vein for the switch?
I saw paladins and smite but the former just looks like worse overwatch, which I already play, and as for the latter, I haven't been into MOBAs since I stopped playing LOL like 8 years ago

Rocket League is fun.

user I didn’t know Ninja warriors again was out. Wild guns reloaded is badass

Tetris 99

i have no idea. I like FPS but dont really care for COD, Switch seems like it would have some fun games I guess, Mario is cool

It's not yet. I was just listing remade Natsume games.

The pussy is still good, r-right?

Trying to earn more medals in Golf Story and played a few missions in Retro City Rampage last night. Waiting for Mario Maker 2.

puyo puyo champions

Pussy is good, but she'll gank you for money because women are terrible when it comes to finances. Why else do you think they marry rich dudes?

Definitely gonna try this some time though.

Otherwise I'm playing Smash and Labyrinth of Refrain

My exFat got corrupted bros..

Article just came out today saying it's still happening and that it was delayed to move production outside of China. Seriously just wait. Even if the pro is a joke, the mini will be worth it since it's supposedly dock compatible.

Anybody played Mechstermination Force? I heard it's Not-Cuphead made by the guy that did Gunman Clive.

Should've gotten the skull grip it's way better.

>Not having a gf who plays games with you

Not our problem you're a normie.

I just bought a Gameboy Micro Famicom for collecting and it's not half bad.

Reminder that Torna is on sale right now. If you loved Xenoblade 2, even a little bit, you should definitely get it. It also comes with a bunch of extra shit for the base game, including Challenge Mode and 6 new Blades (3 of which being crossovers from the other Xenoblades)

That being said, I'm currently playing Slay the Spire. It's a great port but I can't help but feel it's a little pricy considering I got it for 10 bucks on PC.

At least the autosaving is generous but yeah, they really gotta fix that.

Is buying Torna the same as buying the Expansion Pass? I actually didn't pick it up already because I thought the Expansion pass had extra stuff.

Attached: 1526530038964.jpg (399x399, 31K)

gooigi's mansion

Yes. Torna standalone comes with a code for the rest of the expansion pass.

If you have the expansion pass you have Torna. You can access it from the title screen of the base game.

Oh well then fuck yeah. Thanks user. I'll have to grab Torna before the sale ends, been wanting an excuse to pick XBC2 back up

you know how people said you needed a paperclip to hack the switch? Well to do it you need to boot into a special mode which involves pressing the home button on the motherboard. Well if you electrically bridge two joycon pins it acts as if the home button is pressed. A jig is just a 3D printed thing you slide in with metal connecting the right pins
