I think Banjo is running for the first few strides and it switches to talon trot. I doubt it's a move, we've already seen all of his specials. I think they only attacks we didn't see are his tilts, dash attack, up smash, and a couple aerials.

Talon Trot is the dash, I think it just takes him a second to transition into it. At the end where he's running away from Ivysaur, you can see he starts to flip over and go into Talon Trot as he runs off screen

The talon trot dash with the delayed start seems like it's just to make the whole animation look smooth. As in if Banjo just went right into talon trot when dashing it would look jaring because there needs to be some animation in-between standing and troting.

The real cancer though is forcing others into that slot, (Wii Fit, Villager) when making them pugilists would've made much more sense, or designing cqc characters in such a way that defensive play ends up being their optimal playstyle(Mac) I think the only genuine rushdown addition we'e received since Brawl is Inkling.

The trailer makes it seem like he doesn't lose one for each attack the move eats, more like each time you use the move you lose another use. So you would have to think about when you use the move in what situation, and since its invulnerable the only other thing we need to worry about is if it's a kill move or a combo tool. If it's neither of those then it's useless

Not sure if it's complete invincibility (though the source material would imply it is) or just super armor but it seems more like a static distance rush forward, or if anything, it would be like Ike's. Add to that, there's some sort of resource management to it with the feathers so it's limited use and we have no info on how/if you can recover feathers during the match.

Talon Trot has me very curious. It's pretty clearly the dash and not a move but I'm wondering if there is some additional mechanics to it. It could be possible that Banjo & Kazooie have 2 dashes and maybe 2 dash attacks along with it (a roll if Banjo is running or maybe a beak lunge if using talon trot). How each dash would be activated would be the question though. Could be that dashing a certain distance swaps you to talon trot or maybe a certain input during a dash will trigger it.
Kind of similar is the egg firing. We see a crouched forward egg shot as well as a running forward egg shot so maybe those are the same move and the crouching shot only happens if you're not moving OR maybe the crouching forward egg shot is paired with the grenade egg as their down special and the direction and egg used is dependent on a slight tilt forward or backward when using the move.
It's interesting because Banjo & Kazooie seem really straightforward at a glance but then the more you look at it, you see possible hints of more interesting gimmicks to their mechanics. I'm really looking forward to seeing the actual moveset video to find out if any of these theories are correct. Also, I'm dying to see their forward aerial because I want to know if Sakurai actually used the aerial pecking attack from the games. It's such a no-brainer inclusion but the reveal trailer didn't show it which has me wondering.

I really wanna know what their Uair and Up Smash are. Out of all the moves in all the Banjo games, NONE of them hit above them, aside from Spring Shock Pad, which is their Up B. My idea for their Up Smash was Talon Torpedo, which would work like Snake's mortar, but Kazooie would home back into Banjo's backpack wherever he moved to after using it.
Aside from that, their moveset is EXACTLY what I wanted, I can't FUCKING believe Sakurai pulled a hidden move from the second game to be their FSmash AND IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED THEIR FSMASH TO BE

Talon Trot appears to just be the sprint animation, transitioning into it after a few steps, similar to Inkling's squid-form run. Considering that their roll attack had Kazooie out in BT, flowing from the Talon Trot into that roll (assuming that IS their dash attack, of course) would look just fine.

Anyone else notice how good the smash team is at creating situations that show what a move does without directly calling attention to it? Like this shows them blowing thru the spike thing without getting hurt, plus shows them hitting someone with it. Similarly, the clip with the grenade egg shows the move, but also points out you can grab the grenade eggs and throw them

unless their grab game is phenomenal or they have some absurd launcher/kill option in neutral, they dont look all that special
projectiles look clunky and bad for controlling space, more along the lines of ranged punish tools or combo extenders
and if kazooie isnt disjointed, which i doubt it will be, then the big hitboxes are just gonna get punished constantly by swordfags
having godlike recovery will carry them pretty hard though
also i get the feeling that like megaman theyre gonna be a decent counterpick for characters who need projectiles to approach because the eggs will probably clank/beat them
I imagine there will be some lag time in their moves to compensate, it's not easy to just pull a bird out of your backpack that quickly.
