Unironically completely correct. I play Dedede against younger relatives and they have a great time. He's a boss character that actually feels like fighting a boss. Once you learn his strategy and patterns, he can be beaten readily.
My little cousins always ask for a rematch when I visit on holidays. They beat me in a 2v1 a little over half the time. The looks on their faces when they figured out how easy it is to hit gordos back, then the next match when they started doing it consistently and beat me lit up my heart. Apparently at Thanksgiving they want me to 1v1 a friend of theirs that they have been talking up, with Dedede of course. I intend to put that zoomer in the dirt. God I love this character.
