How many episodes is this going to have? Square confirmed that the first episode will only cover Midgar but in the original game Midgar was barely 5 hours long. FFVII was a 80 hours long game.
How many episodes is this going to have...
Well do the math:
That's 15 parts.
Cool.
3+ is my first guess. If every 'episode' is 80 hour long (probably going to more like 60 hours) I'd be fine with that, so long as they add a lot more content to each episode.
It doesn’t add up, they either make 10 episodes or the outer would is going to take a GIGANTIC chop
Ff 7 is 40 hours long and only if you're retarded
>FFVII was a 80 hours long game.
No?
Imagine Gold Saucer within a Remake? Surely that will be one episode? The content needed is kind of big when you factor in every square, and the mini-games alone. You know for a fact they'll also add in a ton of mini-games from other FF games like Triple Triad or Blitzball etc.
No.
>Kalm flashback in the Remake
I swear if they don't get the atmosphere right...
Sidenote: the Midgar sequence has one third of all mandatory boss fights in the whole game.
I wonder if they'll make a whole separate game for the Huge Materia quests or cut them altogether.
They are going to test the waters and see if they can get away with selling a 15 hour stretchered prologue. If it succeeded, then two more games. If not, and there is an outcry, one game.
At least that's what was whispered to me at E3. Take it as you will.
>inside the lifestream in the Remake
God they'll probably make you spend a good hour mashing through dialogue and include unskippable movie sequences.
My dad works at Squenix and he said 5 parts
Unless they go full walking simulator, SE has been pretty reasonable about giving players the option to turboskip everything.
>FFVII was a 80 hours long game
maybe if you tried to get the golden chocobo
>I don't want to be an illusion
The feels
Can't wait
I hope they all have voices like Barret too.
Midgar is literally one of the coolest cities in FF why are people mad its being upgraded
God, pls SE don't bottle this, I can hear the music already from the picture alone
Nah, they ought to sound like Gold & Silver from Godhand.
>some creepy, fucked up weirdo came to your whorehouse to get some action
>passes out in some messed up way
>Bubby shows genuine concern and massages him back to health
Is he the best waifu?
Honestly this. Why are people wanting a bare-bones remake instead of expanding upon everything?
FF7 is barely 30 hrs if you do main story + Yuffie's side quest
Midgar will be more expanded than any other area, because the area itself has so much the player previously did not get to see. Midgar is a massive both literally and in a figurative sense as to its importance to the world of FFVII. Only a few areas outside of it could possibly get so much extra content and attention.
Basically, what I'm saying is that Midgar is going to be a proportionally larger part of the Remake. Don't assume that every part of the game is being expanded equally.
Because anyone with a three digit IQ can see this project is overambitious and will never be finished. Midgar is a small part of the complete game and they're bloating it up into an entire game in its own right, so how fucking long is the whole thing going to take?
See the post above yours. Not every part of the game will get that treatment. Kitase himself said that "Midgar represents FFVII like no other location", there's a reason it's getting its own game.
>FFVII was an 80 hour long game
kek, whatre you talking about. the game is easily completabe in 40 hours or less even if you take your time to explore everything and even do some grinding. i guess you could argue its 80 hours if you level everyone to 99, max all materia and mindlessly kill shit in the downed underwater airplane for 40 hours, but that doesn't count.
On the other hand letting the player run around in the upper plate would be stupid for narrative reasons.
I clocked a bit over 60 with a 100% playthrough beating the Weapons, golden chocobo, mastering materia, Omnislash etc.
You could easily add more Sectors available and more Shinra HQ floors since so many were missed.
first game had 3 cds worth of stuff
probably 3 parts then
I just want Wheelchair Cloud in true remake style.
I can see 3 parts.
part 1 up to escape from midgar
part 2 up to death
part 3 is everything after
Anything more than 3 parts will be an absolute joke
Episode Midgar
Episode Flashback (Nibelheim/Shinra Mansion featuring Zack from Crisis Core and Vincent from Dirge of Cerberus) to Junon
Episode Costa de Sol to Corel Prison
Episode Gongaga to Forgotten Capital
Episode Icicle Inn to Junon Again
Episode Mideel to Midgar again
Episode Disc 3
Episode Advent Childern
Episode Dirge of Cerberus
>80 hours.
Maybe if you try to do every little thing, which 80% of players doesn't.
The main game is only about 40 - 45 Hours game
3-5 is my guess. also the DE of the first episode is 80 usd lol
that would be paid dlcs
People will be mad about anything. SE shot themselves in the foot by choosing FF7 to remake.
> it's WRONG if the characters look like the original cartoonish polygons
> it's WRONG if the characters look realistic
> it's WRONG if Midgar is restricted to a few sectors like in FF7
> it's WRONG if Midgar becomes a huge open world megalopolis
> it's WRONG if the old minigames (chocobos, bikes, snowboard...) are left as they were
> it's WRONG if they update the old minigames and add new ones
> it's WRONG if they keep the politically incorrect jokes (gay time in the hot tub, Cid abusing Shera, fat jokes with Palmer, trap Cloud...)
> it's WRONG if they delete these jokes
> it's WRONG if they keep the buggy, Bronco and airship as only means of transport
> it's WRONG if they add new vehicles
> it's WRONG if they make originally unrevisitable areas revisitable
> it's WRONG if they don't, I really wanted to go back to Gaea's cliff for Trine
SE has got some balls for attempting this, but the autism crew will never be happy.
Do you think they will cover Advent Children? Those guys have a hard time even doing the original fucking game.
>when the red flags don't even try to hide themselves
I'm just having a giggle
3 is the magic number for these things.
My guess is Midgar will be the first chapter and they will try to expand a lot on the Avalanch missions and the Shinra building.
Second chapter will probably be about chasing Sephirot. Considering it's most likely going to be super linear most of the exploration will be gone and they'll probably get rid of Kalm and maybe even Fort Condor and will focus on Junon and Nibelheim.
Finally, the last chapter will probably be Mideel onwards.
That's if they're "generous". Assuming they expand Midgard so much because it's an emblematic part of the story and they'll probably make other parts shorter removing sidequests and exploration. If they're "greedy" they can make a whole episode for Junon, another for Mount Corel, etc.
