I mean, if they kill themselves we won't have a game at all

Better than the a western company like rockstar working their slaves 100 hours a weeks

buy on rumor, sell on news

The market dip had just as much to do with them not announcing a streaming service, which is a good thing. Fuck investors

If you commit to a date then you stick to it or else you're insulting your consumer base.

>I'd rather have my games come out buggy and shitty
No

haha wow for a 1/2 delay, so terrible haha!

Attached: suffering.jpg (280x131, 33K)

OH NO NO NO

HOW WILL "MUH CRUNCH IS BAD" FAGS EVER RECOVER?

LITERAL 1 BILLION LOSS

Attached: 1551798892691.jpg (600x580, 98K)

Nintendo has support studios made for this and Animal Crossing is a billion dollar franchise. They have no excuse for not sticking to a release date.

It was most definitely Pokemon Sword and Shield that made the market value sink.
They just want to blame Animal Crossing for some reason.

nintendo has ridiculous margins, that's how they've succeeded for so long

buy the stock now retards

What if those studios are busy with other shit

I hate how game journos have exposed "crunch" in the game industry and forced devs to change. Why should we give a shit about the well being of the developers? I just want my games in a reasonable amount of time. If someone drops dead, replace them.

>people whine that devs are overworked
>Don't force devs to overwork
>People whine that games take longer to come out

Humanity is garbage

Hasn't this shit played out several times already? They have faith that the launch would compensate for the loss, and they've always touted that mentality of "good vidya first". Who fucking knows if it will, but that's what those Japs decided.

I wonder if taleworlds makes enough money off warband sales to fund this abomination of no game

STOP TORMENTING MEEEEEEEEEE

Attached: 162615e7c541111169d2a279b0bb1ae07d2d85e197ed0956e19eaf9192289314.jpg (831x960, 95K)

>If someone drops dead, replace them.
Well yeah that's how it works.
AC should take priority

>largest media franchise in the world that happens to be owned by nintendo getting major backlash
>it must be animal crossing that did it
no wonder they're stuck working as "journalists"

Sure, because that worked so well for Anthem, right?

Casuals dont care about the removal of a 9000 pokemon dex. That wouldn't effect shares. Even a majority of serious fans will still buy the game, and half of those serious fans don't really mind it. It's not going to effect sales at all, and shareholders would know this.

Investors are fucking idiots

Nintendo has incredibly high employee retention for a reason.

>yfw dumb gaijins blame dōbutsu no mori

Attached: 41B91606-F189-4ECB-AEBE-FA4A3D7B54EB.jpg (300x300, 11K)

Anthem failed because the devs were lazy fucks that spent 7 years doing nothing

The turkish government is housing them, they're "provided" for.

Attached: Prison.jpg (1200x800, 143K)

When did Yea Forums become stockholders?
>Nintendo decides to not rush AC into a piece of shit like Sword and Shield, which now has universally negative acclaim
>LOL LOL LOL BTFO!!!!!!!!!!

1 billion yens is like 2 bucks or something in american money, not that much.

>muh humanity
You need to go back.

Because if the devs overwork themselves and die, then you don't get any new games from those creators in the future
>If someone drops dead, replace them.
If Sakurai died, I doubt there'd be anyone with his obsessive standard of quality to replace him.
And even if you do replace them, that takes more time to get those developers up to speed on the frameworks and codebase. It's actually MORE time expensive to have devs leave and have to rehire (which becomes more difficult the more shitty your work environment is known to be) than to just treat devs with a little bit of respect and keep them around.
The Crunch thing is that game devs often don't set their own deadlines, the marketing team does. If Devs were able to set their own deadlines, the likelihood of Crunch and delays would go down

The difference is that even if S&S will be broken piece of shit, it will still sell 10M in a month

>listening to stockholders

anyone got that pic where there are nintendo stockholders who dont even like video games

soul/soulless

You assholes need to be necked for fucking up the western game industry. Pushing for more and more yearly releases and more shitty games come out as a result.

Have you ever made a game?

Fuck that, those shitty liberal dev cucks should go die in a fire if they can't make games, babykilling elitists can all go to hell

nobody cares, you arent making that money, the game will still be shit and hurt the Pokemon brand in the long run

Probably getting the Epic treatment too

If devs set their own deadlines, games would never come out.

>are nintendo stockholders who dont even like video games
Do any?

Rather a delay than them releasing an unpolished turd
Casuals are the one's who care most, they don't give a shit about challenging battles, interesting world design, lore, good balance or any of that shit. They just wanna check boxes in their collection.

Most share holders don't consume the products of what they're invested in

Buy the dip

Attached: 1560273246895.jpg (597x489, 28K)

> the game will still be shit and hurt the Pokemon brand in the long run
Just like Pokemon Let's Go which sold 10M despite being a 60$ port of the mobile game?

Fuck that mentality. That's how you get rushed shit.

>Nintendo: We arr deraying the gameru forr the sake of our emproyees hearth

>Western Capitalists: They're straying from the Path, release the Enforcers.

That's a dollar sign you blind goon

While still believing on their "Bioware Magic" which caused several people to take stress leaves and pretty much quit during the last months of development. It still applies and the last thing Nintendo needs is having their reputation tainted because of claims that they overwork their developers. Investors can go suck a cock and their market value is pretty much irrelevant as it always fluctuates by the smallest shit they do or not do.

Why do they think it was because of Animal Crossing specifically?
The Pokemon thing likely had way more of an impact.

You mean the game directors and shit

most that time was in pre production dont blame the programmers

Why is it ok for Nintendo to delay their stuff but when Sony does it its met with mockery here?

Attached: 1528299285494.gif (500x300, 128K)

>mfw Yea Forums always overreacts to any notable change in market value or stock prices like that shit doesn't always do wacky shit after big announcements or trade shows
>mfw it goes back to where it was in like a month and nobody even acknowledges this even happened

Attached: 1557857748551.jpg (401x479, 74K)

Such as...?

Uncharted 4

A delayed game is eventually good, a rushed game is bad forever. someone should tell Gamefreak that.

Any examples?

When Nintendo delayed Animal Crossing it still has a pretty loaded 2019 which includes fucking Pokemon.
Sony delaying its games is just acknowledging the platform's dependence on EA Sports and COD.

its being mocked here to while being defended by others like normal

Stop trying to always feel like the victim

When's the last time Sony even made a video game?

And this ideals are what gave us Anthem. Or the Towers of MK XI, or years of apologizing for the buggy messes Bethesda makes, that eventually lead us to Fallout 76.

>A delayed game is eventually good
DNF
>a rushed game is bad forever
WW

Gamers shall usher in the Revolution

Attached: Screenshot_20190614-003515_Twitter.jpg (1080x2220, 766K)

It's always a good thing when a game gets delayed. If you have it now then it will be buggy and lacking in content. You're getting it later and it's going to be a complete, polished package.

Attached: DdAf7EZVwAIY1TT.jpg (1024x572, 70K)

But I dont work there, I play games. I want my games as high quality as possible and as fast as possible too. If crunch helps me get what I want, then crunch is what I demand them to do.

If they dont want to crunch, they are free to go back to McDonalds

I don't fucking get the logic of some people here.

It's the hardcore fans of Pokemon that care about long term transfer. Casual fans, the ones who only buy one game per gen or even every other gen or just when they feel like it are the ones that don't care about transferal. They specifically lay to just have the Pokemon experience in a new world/lore/with new monsters.

You have it entirely fucking backwards in your head.

>You're getting it later and it's going to be a complete, polished package.
eteknix.com/miyamoto-announces-star-fox-zero-delay/
yeah

They actually do since they play pokemon GO and they wont be able to transfer their mons

Persona 5 was supposed to release 2015.

No it wasnt, you really overestimate investor expectations. If anything, it was the lack of new hardware announcements or mobile games. They know pokemon will sell a shit ton either way.

>Casuals dont care about the removal of a 9000 pokemon dex.
Animal Crossing fans took the delay lightly and are happy that the game is underway already. Pokemon, meanwhile, sparked the biggest uproar in its history.

Code Vein had a nearly year long delay and it looks just as rough as it did last year.

Fucking Star Fox Zero exists and that had delays as well.

This whole delay = good game" shit is bullshit. It's just an excuse to cover up incompetence.

I don't know why people hate on Zero so much. I thought it was very fun, especially in co-op. It's not the best Star Fox game but it's nowhere near the worst.

Imagine how much worse Star Fox zero would have been without a delay

It might be shit, but is it complete and is it polished?

Persona's delays are kinda justified since Atlus was tethering on the line of closing down forever in addition to having to port over the game to PS4.

You clearly have no idea the shit storm this stuff caused. Casuals care more about older content than new anyway. It's always been like this with Pokemon.

>I don't know why people hate on Zero so much
Less content than 64, controls that are so bad Miyamoto mocked the fanbase for not liking them

only a retard would think it's a bad idea to delay a game until you've perfected and fix'd it.

Attached: star-citizen.jpg (960x540, 108K)

No.

Yeah, investors are probably upset Mario Kart Tour wasn't center stage, or that they didn't announce a Switch Pro or something.

I'd happily buy a Switch with more hardware grunt when docked

I guess I just didn't mind the controls. They took getting used to, but they felt fine once I did.

All right I didn't actually know. I am sad now that it's not true that delaying a game is always better for the game.

Attached: 1393096057581.png (592x511, 478K)

Casuals want to transfer their "bros" from past games and their shiny collection. And then you have the dumb kind of "hardcore gamer" that has boxes full of level 100 pokemon, as if that is an achievement, wanting to trade them over.

>excited for AC
>think its coming out this year
>lmao sucks for you we delayed it for a year
>date is now when I'll be underway for 7 months
Yeah fuck them. R* did this same bullshit with V.

My brother's a super casual normie who only plays Mario and Pokemon and literally all he cares about is "catching them all." I know he's gonna be pissed when he finds out but he's so fucking casual he probably doesn't even know yet.

riddle me this bros in support of overworking. Did wr not achieve this shitfest state of gaming by the crunch and rush culture in companies? yall faggots bitch about rushed buggy and unfinished games but then you all support what causes that nonsense

they will be just fine

Attached: nin.png (852x683, 50K)

> Let them release an Early Access Animal Crossing like all the faggots on Steam
GG ez, i guess

Was there ever a date announced besides "winter 2019"?
Because technically winter 2019 extends into 2020 anyways, and March is 2/3 winter on top of it.
And I'll take a delay for a more likely good game than a rushed pile of shit.
I'd honestly prefer starting Animal Crossing in springtime anyways. Winter is a shit season

>Casuals dont care about the removal of a 9000 pokemon dex
boy you are fucking stupid.
one of of those "9000" pokemon is someones' favorite. and seeing as they keep shoving Kanto shit down everyone's throat, let one Pokemon from Gen1 or Gen2 not be in the game.

>selling stock on a company that has been making more revenue every year since the introduction of the Switch
Some investors are just mouthbreathing retards.

> I cannot wait for a few months and rather have something shit like every Gamefreak game bc muh launch date

I mean ACfags are desperate enough to gobble it up

March 20th 2020

The world of investors just seems like random chaos. Like it's a bunch of people who have no idea what they're doing but somehow have inane amounts of money to just throw around.

>winter is a shit season
And you have shit taste.

They literally just wrote 2019 on its reveal(Isabelle's Smash trailer) so they were clearly ballparking for that year.

When will devs learn that we don't care about the, their well being, or their families at all? We pay sixty dollars not just for the game but for the luxury to not care. Just like, get another job then.

Attached: image.jpg (236x282, 22K)

WW could've been better
There are untold numbers of just rushed games are too ass for anyone to remember

>order food analogy
>Ok sir we will have that right out!

>Actually the cook felt like going home, come back tomorrow

Why are the devs problems our problems now, no other industry is like this. People dont wait longer for shoes to help sweat shop kids.

>Projecting your own feelings onto others

>you need to go back
Look who's talking E.T.

Man, fuck your entitled ass. Games are cheaper than they've ever been relative to cost of living. Take your money and shove it way way up your dickhole.

Restaurants get behind on orders all the time, so that's a pretty weak analogy.

Hard for you to relate since you surely don't have a job, wojaktard.

Devs getting toasty. You're a subhuman to actual tech workers.

The dev time for DNF is nowhere near the time between it's initial announcement and release. It was scrapped and changed studios so many times that dev time essentially restarted several times.

>order food analogy
Like... you go to a restaurant and you order a food analogy from the waiter?

The report that the articles are taking from says the investors are unhappy there was announcements regarding cloud-based gaming and Switch revisions.

I meant before e3, user.

Which means they could have announced it for Dec 31, 2019. Funnily enough nobody would have pitched a fit over that. March 2020 though? How fucking dare you Nintendo.

Sorry, I live someplace it snows. I hate the cold, snow drags out the most retarded people, and Fall is better.

There's a reason Valve named EA after you, EA ceo man.

OH NO NO NO! Now it's only worth about as much as...wait...one month ago? And still significantly up since start of the year?

Pls stop falling for this bullshit.

Attached: download.png (1560x902, 89K)

That's easier for some things than others. If you work at McDonalds it's easy to say you'll have somebody's meal done in 5 min (le ebin food comparison, I know) than say if you're building an office building there are more factors at play that can affect production time; if you hit bedrock, there's a worker or material shortage, or any other number of things can throw you way off of your initial schedule.

More companies should incorporate public devblogs for games.

What we're seeing:
>Game is announced
>Devs go dark for 6 months
>Only update on the status is a delay

What would be better for both developer and consumer:
>Game gets announced
>Developer explicitly states how far development is currently
>Dev releases weekly/monthly updates on how the project is coming along
>Consumers are better informed and understanding of setbacks
>Devs don't feel as pressured to crunch

Yes sorry buddy but Nintendo has actually proven to follow through with their philosophy. Every time they have delayed a game, it came out good in the end.

Other companies have to prove their own worth and if Code Vein looks as shit as it did before, than the company who made it is a shit company and you shouldn't believe them.

Just like I wouldn't trust Bethseda if they told me that because I know they're going to sit around jerking each other off since they're all butt buddies with no actual skill and the game will be as shit or worse than it was before.

You are absolutely correct. The logical and correct action to take then is to not announce a release date.

Uh

Attached: 220px-Sonic_the_Hedgehog_Next-Gen_Box_Art.jpg (220x280, 26K)

Okay

>releases the game being buggy and unfinished :^)

The stock market is entirely decided by psychology and mob mentality. It has almost nothing to do with numbers and inherent worth of the stock. If it did, companies like Amazon would have plummeted in value by now because the numbers literally do not add up.

>Every time they have delayed a game, it came out good in the end.
Literally Star Fox Zero

Yeah fuck artistry just get me my products faster. Same with Disney, I need more Marvel and Star Wars movies a year so they need to just hire more people and work them twice as hard so I can get more things to mindlessly consume like s locust.

>else you're insulting your consumer base
Know what else also is exactly that? Releasing a dogshit unfinished piece of shit.

Animal crossing is only part of the reason why Nintendo lost a buck or two:

Journos n shit kept screaming about a switch revision and even though Nintendo said no revision yet people were expecting a new switch at E3 and got pissy when it didn’t happen

Taleworld devs are Turkish? Omg preorder canceled

Why the fuck are people impatient to play this game? It doesn't look any better than New Leaf.

Attached: 1471823512267.png (429x410, 61K)

Most likely scenario:

>Sir, our fall and winter release schedules are stacked and studies have shown that the playerbase who buys Animal Crossing is the same playerbase who buys Pokemon, it would be a bad business decision to release both games so closely together
>Hmmm you are right, but we need Pokemon for the holiday season that is for sure, we need to find a reason to give the fans as to why we're pushing back the Animal Crossing release
>Well we certainly can't tell them the truth that would make us look greedy and uncaring... And telling them that we need more time to work on Animal Crossing would make us look incompetent
>HEY I KNOW, there have been a lot of articles lately in the gaming press about employees being pushed too far and burning out over "crunch times", let's spin this as a way to relieve the pressure from our employees!
>Sir you are a genius and now we get to reinforce the "Good guy Nintendo" image we've been cultivating for so long

Attached: 1558250014671.png (1125x2436, 495K)

>either you delay the game or it will be buggy
>Pick one

Why do people have this retarded mentaltity?
They can just hire more people to meet the deadline

The reason why Marvel Studios can release like 2-3 movies a year is because their logistics are just that fucking good. Plus money and all that but mostly a well done pipeline to get all the pieces together and make their movies.

>2 games DIDN'T turn out good that must mean they ALL don't turn out good!
Think for a second here.

Wind Waker and Sunshine both are rushed games and while it’s hard to notice, it shows through. Obviously Nintendo realized that they weren’t going to be able to put everything that they wanted originally and had to make cutbacks like halfway through development, that way they could still put the rest of the Nintendo polish on to make it play extremely well even if the content was lacking a bit or was shallow.

Sunshine had like half the levels that 64 did and some of the bonus levels were infamously bad or annoying (poison river, pachinko, etc) and reused bosses like Gooper Blooper too much

WW lost at least 2 to 3 full dungeons, Ice Ring Isle and Fire Island got relegated to mini dungeons, and Forsaken Fortress is a bit messy if you could count it as one. Plus lets not forget the massive triforce chart Hunt.

That's EA talk right there.

You didn't refute him at all.

I'm 90% sure they just use this excuse because the topic have been really hot recently
Excellent PR too, already seeing a bunch of people going "yasss nintendo the only good one left in gaming"

I highly doubt this game took any more than a year to make
They used to make full fledged RPG in less time

Attached: vlcsnap_01896.0.png.jpg (1200x800, 148K)

I mean the same applies to people saying all rushed games are garbage, FNV was made in a single year and while the launch had its issues, they were quickly fixed

This is absurd paranoia and delusion if it was some way right.
Why the fuck would Nintendo want to have two of their big games fighting each other for the Christmas sales?
Remember how Titanfall 2 got murdered cus everyone just waited for Battlefield 1?

Oh no. Bethesda is a completely different problem
They are just shit at making games. no amount of time or good working conditions would improve anything Bethesda makes.

Little capitalism troubles eh?

Haha... Yea I've been there...

Say, I've got this little book I think you'd just LOVE, I'm sure

All the answers to your problem

Here, I've got a copy in my pocket right now

Go on, take it

Attached: marx.jpg (512x600, 30K)

Oh I agree that neither one is correct and people are just going to extreme of both ends I know full well some games can come out quick and be amazing and others can come out late and do the same.

>Here, I've got a copy in my pocket right now
Lies. Germans never, ever write small books. Typical German handbooks are at least 1000 pages long.
That shit won't fit into the baggiest pocket.

What the fuck is your definition of casual? Why would a casual have a fucking shiny collection, something you specifically have to go out of your way to get even one of, or have extreme luck?

What the fuck? Do you know what casual means? How is having a fucking shiny collection a casual thing?

And all the movies are generic focus-tested trash, just like most AAA games

>telling them that we need more time to work on Animal Crossing would make us look incompetent
That's exactly what they said in the Direct retard, they're not gonna sit on their asses with AC finished just doing nothing.

Just like most comics so hey they're doing the one thing they're meant to do.

tpbp

>Yea Forums - hahahaha fuck wagecucks

Show me 1 (1) casual that actually cares

>Nintendo is one of the few Jap companies that care for their employees' well beings
>Jap stockholders don't like it
Wew, how shocking

Okay, lets start paying 200$ per rushed out game with over inflated online updates and 0 single player DLCs, I'm sure you'll still be buying

The actual most likely scenario is that they need more time to work in the fucking game, easy as that.

Or just wait you impatient cock

So many assholes here don't realize the type of shit people who work their asses on this game have to experiences. These game developers are people too. You fucking god damn assholes. Now I feel happy that the game is delayed because none of you entitled peices of shit deserve a new AC game.

They should just be better developers. Work for my money or fuck off.

Name a game that Sony has made.

Better yet all game devs should put their games on Epic Game Store because they are willing to pay up in front for the condition of a pre-order of hundres of thousands.

It’s trending on twitter

All of them?

That kind of shit is why we are getting a crappy pokemon game now.

no it isnt

>it isn't ok when nintendo does it

is this the real life?

>a billion dollars shaved off just by delaying some casual game
why

aw fuck you're right
"#bringbacknationalDEX"
Fuck these kids, social media was a mistake

Attached: uORXpYm.png (1010x630, 306K)

I'm glad for the delay because the AC they showed looks pretty crappy.

Asians just make bad programmers

Why do the villagers look like discount Miis now?

Wow Nintendo dropped by 1 (one) whole BILLION???!?1384?!
How will they ever recover?

Oh wow, 1 Billion.
Nintendone amirite?

Attached: The absolute state of Nintendo.png (340x313, 205K)

Just release it now amd patch and dlc the rest in.
FOR THE PLAYERS

Call me sceptical but aren't they just releasing it a few months later so it doesn't compete for Pokemon over the Christmas season and padding out next years first party releases.

>cowardly snake investors pull out because Nintendo won't work their work force to the bone
Sounds like a typical day of investors showing they have no souls or sense of foresight.

Investors are actually pulling out cause they fell for the game streaming meme

Getting slightly off topic, I am not excited for that shit. Paying a subscription just to buy games? Fuck off. And then everyone but Nintendo does it, so now I need to make a hard choice to either stay with my ps4/switch/PC setup or take it in the ass just to keep playing games when ps4 games stop coming out

>le ebic goldace.jaypeg
Yeah because going from 39k yen down to 37 means anything.

It worked for Mario spinoffs in the last decade
