Fucking when? It should have been out 12 hours ago
This evening apparently
I'll wait to get it on sale. look how cheap Crypt of the Necrodancer is going for in the current sale.
Crypt of the Necrodancer doesn't have Nintendo characters in it though. Cadence of Hyrule will probably never go on sale like most other Nintendo games. (yes I'm aware it's not actually a Nintendo game)
It's probable going up at 9am PST, I believe that's when the eShop updates.
They do go on sale, but hardly past 50% (for the bad ones), others never go past 33%.
The mario xcom game goes on steep discount fairly often, so there is precedent.
People keep teling me it's procedurally generated, but this clearly shows a typical zelda map, so which is it?
I think the major areas are in the same places but the inbetween areas are randomized.
I know dungeons are more CotN like being totally randomly generated each time you attempt them
things like enemies and items probably change each time even if each "zone" is generally the same.
Ubisoft published that I think
The overworld is semi randomly generated when you start a new playthrough, it stays the same for the entire playthrough which is why you get a proper map.
Dungeons are completely random everytime you enter them and work similar to the levels in crypt of the necrodancer.
No, games are uploaded when the eShop updates, that's 10am PST
Ubisoft also developed it
This didn't come out like a year ago...?
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN
I CANT WAIT LONGER
It was announced a year ago
2 hours and 30 mins
either 1pm est or 3pm est
I don't remember which time is when the games usually become available
FUCK
AMERICANS
I want to play this, but I suck at rhythm games. I read that there's a "fixed beat" mode, does that mean you can just play it like a regular roguelike?
shut the fuck up, namefag.
Necrodancer has a playable character that disables the beat and makes it turn based.
They haven't shown if Cadence of Hyrule will have the same feature however.
Splat2 and its DLC was 50% off during new year
t.mutt
Probably right after Treehouse demo's it and they suddenly go 'Available right now in the eshop' at the end.
im only hoping for a "bard" mode like in Crypt so my gf can enjoy the game too.
if not i'll just tell her to git gud
I wonder if there'll be other playable characters to unlock like Tingle or Beedle.
>so my gf
>play as Ganondorf, music goes into a slower power rock theme
>4pm
>Still not released
Why can't they just give us a fucking release time instead of just a date.
That'd be cool. Maybe they could add skull kid with some kind of rewind feature (go back three turns) for less experienced players?
becasue everyone who purchases from the eshop already know when it comes out exactly you retard
its either 12pm PST or 10amPST
I would get it, but I just couldn't get good at the original game. Can never beat any of the bosses.
This is the perfect time to learn. Zelda music will be a lot less grating to listen to than the original OST, and it seems to be open world to an extent so you can explore different places each run instead of throwing yourself at the same level endlessly. I was trash at 1 but I'm looking forward to Cadence still.
bitch fuck off , the original game ost was awesome
That's another 3-5 hours. It'll be 9pm in 5 hours. FUCK NINTENDO
thats 2 hours dude
I don't like rhythm games I like to do things my own pace.
It's so small I will probably redownload it and give it a go.
You misunderstood. I love the original OST too, but for a new player repeatedly starting over and over, you end up hearing the first couple of songs repeatedly. It's more the appeal of Cadence's free roaming that'll help new players stick. If you get sick of hearing the standard overworld theme, you can work your way over to the forest or Gerudo Valley.
>every boss name is a pun
So you mean PDT, not PST. That's much better, now it'll only be released at 8 o'fucking clock. Only 20 hours after the start of the fucking day.
>Switch only
Aaaand there it goes
Pacific standart time? PST i just assumed
It was announced in March of this year.
It's the best choice for this type of game since it's portable.
IS THE MUSIC BY DANNY THO
I don’t know what you were expecting.
apparently
Mario kart 8 deluxe was on a 50% sale in the eshop not too long ago so theyre starting to open up to sales on nintendo games
So how about the original Crypt of the Necrodancer?
Eh, their loss really
Nintendo used to dont do sales at all
but now it does them like any other store
>Use Nintendo IP
>Expect it on other platforms
you dumb.
Also boys, since Nintendo seems more willing to let indie folks use IPs, what's your dream dev/game scenario?
I'd want the Fast RMX guys to make a new F-Zero
I think it'd be cool if Yacht Club was allowed to make something for them but at the fucking snail pace they work at it might not be a great idea.
Fuck man, love Necrodancer but don't have a switch
on the switch do you play this with the analog stick or dpad? because the dpad on the joycon sucks dick.
I still can't believe we won't see King of Cards until 2020
That actually sounds really cool, though I'm hesitant to cough up $25 after shelling out $40 for Collection of Mana AND with Hollow Knight on my radar cause of the sale.
La Mulana/Zelda crossover would be cool.
This isn't gonna be anymore than $15 right? I feel like they're gonna get too bold having Zelda in the game and charge more
ÂŁ22
$25
I mean the other updates where only 8 courses each
King of Cards are 30 new courses
It's only ÂŁ5 more than Necrodancer, and presumably has way more content since it's open world.
I loved that about the first Necrodancer. I hope they it up with some good Zelda-based music puns.
Stardew Valley x Zelda
you can date severeal Zelda girls while working on your LonLon farm
also small dungeons for fighting/getting ore
wait what?
nintendo doesnt do niche
Crypt of the Necrodancer wasn't/isn't niche?
It's a straight up toggle now. You can turn it off or on.
I'm not sure about specific devs, but imagine some kind of harvest moon/gardening crossover with Pikmin. You can change between large and tiny, and growing different plants etc will have an effect on the tiny world. Maybe you need to shrink down and fight enemies to protect your crops, or you can get dungeon seeds which will grow into new explorable areas. It'd be a comfy laid back game but with some combat and exploration when you feel up to it.
Play as King Knight, the gilded goon himself, as he travels through 4 new worlds and more than 30 all new courses, on a journey to best the Three Kings who rule over the land. With a high flying spin and a boisterous bash, he can crash through all who would dare stand in his way!
There are more stages in King of Cards but they're also shorter.
compared to the amount of people your idea of a game is gonna cater to , it isnt
They are playing Candence of Hyrule on the treehouse stream right now
I'd say farming games like Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, Stardew Valley are far more popoular
JUST AS KEKOLDS DO
All the people hating on this game on the chat
is this switch only?
yes
I want to watch, but it's coming out so soon I don't want to spoil anything. I saw the first room or two and it looks 10/10. I like how you gain free movement once you clear rooms, it seems like they're primarily focusing on combat this time.
Danny created remixes of the original soundtrack for this
I picked up the Necrodancer DLC a few days ago and zone 5 is pretty fucking brutal.
apaprently that only happens in the overworld
well it looks like its way easier than the original, enemies dont do that much damage
Would it really kill them to put this on 3ds?
3DS is dead, nothing else of note is coming out for it.
even Bill Trinen said to throw that to the garbage because its all about the switch now
Still not out?
Nope, it just finished up at the treehouse saying it'll be out 'this morning' in whatever godforsaken timezone it's still morning in
It's almost 1pm est, unlock already jesus christ
Just give ME THE GAME ALREADY NIGGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no foul language here please
Is danny doing the music?
WHERE IS IT???
It's 6pm here, rip
I'm so glad that piece of shit is dead. The Switch is just better in every way.
I'd like to try Crypt of the Necrodancer but I've heard that this game was kind of challenging and I'm such a huge sucker at those kind of games. Is Cadence of Hyrule going to have the same difficulty settings ?
it looked way easier than the original, enemies dont do that much damage
It looks way more manageable in terms of difficulty, it should be a good jumping in point. I got necrodancer on sale for switch (double dipped, already tried it on steam), but I plan on going back to it after I get more familiar with the gameplay in Cadence.
From everything we've heard it's gonna be easier yeah, but for diehard fans there will be a permadeath mode
who's the Aria of this game
Tingle
Yep
It's out!
It's up bros
W H E N ?
This takes much longer and I'm gonna get Hollow Knigger instead
LETS GO
Get both man, Hollow Knight is kino, also it just went up on the eshop
just came out
YOU CAN PUSH BLOCKS TO CLIMB UP LEVELS
That's what everyone is saying but I just bought Collection of Mana and my birthday is Sunday so one of my bros could have gotten me vidya, don't wanna drown in games
But fuck it I'm too much of a Zelda-fag, Cadence it is.
>Disco descend in Zelda style
Holy shit this is already starting out way better than I'd ever expect it to be
Fuck that price
Did you visit Link or Zelda first?
I'm tempted as the music was jamming and it looks cool, but the price is steep...should I buy it Yea Forumsros?
Lonk
Zelda
Support it so we get more collaborations like this one
>Cadence_of_Hyrule_Crypt_of_the_NecroDancer_Featuring_The_Legend_of_Zelda_eShop_NSW-VENOM
time to download
Love rhythm games and Zelda but fuck man $25? $5 more and I can get Monster Hunter and that has exponentially more content to the power of like 10
Link first. I want the full LTTP nostalgia
I never played Crypt of the Necrodancer.
Can I played this game just fine?
This is randomly generated at least
If you liked Necrodancer then yes
If you don't know what it is then I'm not so sure
How do you guys not have 25$ jesus fucking christ these games are hundreds of hours long
MHGU blows every game out of the water in terms of content. It's not really fair to compare to to anything else.
literally all nintendo games are going on sale though wtf are you talking about retard
Did anybody buy the game? Is it worht 25?
Watch yourself
playing it right now, I am really liking it
Music is great , i was worried it wasnt gonna be as good but Danny is the one who made it
DO NOT BUY THIS
WE ARE BOYCOTTING THE WESTERNIZATION OF NINTENDO IPS
I never played necrodancer before, though might pick it up also since it's on sale for cheap rn. Should I just pick up necrodancer first and then if I like it get CoH?
Yea, I want to pirate it too.
>Spend all my gold to get Necrodancer for free
>Spend all my gold points to get $20 this game
What do I do bros
This seems to be different than Necrodancer. Its more of an adventure game with rhythm when combat is involved. Does it have any random generation for dungeons?
yes it does
>double beat mode is a thing in the option
Oh no I bet coda is a thing too
Link's Awakening and Wind Waker music in this style are so comfy. I didn't get into the first Necrodancer but I love this.
please no
You're gonna do that Coda run and you're gonna like it
Crypt of the Necrodancer is basically 3 bucks now on the european and US eshop.
The fairies are cute
It is
Is this game on sale yet?
why is my procedurely generated kakariko village full of niggers
How long and replayable is it?
I rarely spend more than 15 bucks on an indie
I played it for a bit.
I'm a huge necrodancer fan and this game is giving me that feel of "I'm not getting exactly what I thought I was so I don't like it."
I just gotta remind myself that Dark Souls felt the same to me after Demon's and Mario 64 gave me the same feel and just power through it.
is the first one worth it? it's just 3 bucks on switch but I could also pirate it on pc
Few hours for the first run
After that you're basically playing a randomizer mod
Yes it's an amazing game. played it like 170 hours.
There's also permadeath and more unlockables to get.
>dying within the first few screens
Yeah I'm still garbage at necrodancer.
I've already died a ton. I already feel like I'm improving though, and I'm not getting pissed at it like I did with the original. How about you?
The speedruns on the leaderboard are 4 hours, 13 hours and 20 hours. Either this is a long game or two of the three people who played this early really suck at it.
get hollow kngiht for sure
cute
I hope they get my nigga familyjules on the soundtrack
Are the jams good?
is this game as sjw-filled as the original?
I liked necrodancer's soundtrack better.
Does it? I might have to give it a pass if that's the case.
Wishlist: Hollow Knight, La-Mulana,
Wanted: Risk of Rain, Bastion/Transistor, Cave Story
Would be great: Cuphead, Shovel Knight, Iconoclasts
it's really good dungeon/rogue game with rhythm game system tieing everything together also the music makes a a 9/10
>Filled
Shut up autist
so how varied and fun is it?
I love Isaac and Enter the Gungeon but I didn't like Dead Cells because it was too simple and runs weren't much different from each other
yes, as soon as you start zelda says she is a lesbian and that link is asexual
Man this looks amazing, the graphics work well and the music is just as good as it was in the original game. Almost makes me want to get a switch.
Where are my odd time sigs
Is this only on the e-shop, or is there a cartridge version?
>when a indie game nails the zelda look better than modern nintendo
shameful
The map completely changes.
Bitchin'
Digital only, $25
It looks fucking amazing.
I just got started with Crypt of the Necrodancer so I'll wait until it goes on sale, but I'm definitely getting this at some point.
Gonna co-op the hell out of it with a bro who is as much of a zelda nerd as I am.
help
how do i get past the blowing things with zelda in the cave on the first mapa fhe castle
Literally how did such a game get to partner with Nintendo? It’s small time indie isn’t it?
Aonuma played it and liked it.
How long does it take for a new release like this to get a sale?
not teh old nintendo thats for sure
No clue.
Crypt of the Necrodancer often went for dirt cheap (like 4 bucks) but since this is a Nintendo exclusive I doubt it'll ever go below 15-20 bucks.
Still, I don't pay 25 bucks for indie games on principle.
ign.com
>To find out, I spoke with Ryan Clark, founder of Crypt of the NecroDancer developer Brace Yourself Games, and Kirk Scott, Nintendo of America’s Manager of Publisher-Developer Relations and all-around Nindie guy. While Clark says they initially approached Nintendo to potentially use Zelda in some smaller way like DLC, the mutual interest in working together grew faster than they were expecting.
>“We were considering making a new Nintendo Switch project,” Clark explained to me “and we imagined how cool it would be to have Zelda characters appearing in NecroDancer; say as DLC.” But Nintendo’s interest apparently grew beyond a simple DLC. “To our surprise, Nintendo was extremely interested in the prospect, and before we knew it we were working on a completely new title, mashing up NecroDancer with The Legend of Zelda!”
>On Nintendo’s side, Scott tells me that “developers are always reaching out to Nintendo to include IP in their games,” but clearly something was different this time around. “When you look at a case like Cadence of Hyrule, there’s special cases in some instances where our Japan team see content and see titles that they want to work with and [the interest is] a two-way street, really.”
It's pretty neat.
I was gonna pass since i thought it was just more necrodancer with a zelda skin but today's treehouse sold me on it.
Maps randomized so no idea what you are talking about. might just need to come back later with more items.
>link
>asexual
link is nothing but a cock loving slut
That's dumb. You're dumb.
>Hey can we borrow your characters as guest DLC for our IP
>Hey you know what? Can WE borrow your IP as guest DLC for our franchise
What an exchange that must have been. This really is like an idol responding to fan mail with a love letter.
So cadence is going to be the indie rep for smash right
what would her move set looks like?
Echo Assist Trophy
It's nice that it's a roguelike with random maps but, can I actually replay it hundreds of times without getting quickly bored?
are the runs unique?
Since you keep weapons on death, every playthrough will feel samey eventually.
What's different is which equipment you find in the overworld first (cane, deku leaf, etc) and which order you take equipment in the dungeons(hookshot, boomerang, bow, ice rod, etc).
Unironically give me Coda difficulty.
I want to feel pain in its purest form.
literally randomizer runs with beats
Nintendo NEEDS to let Team Cherry do something with their IPs. I'm sure they're very much on Sakamoto's radar.
Do I need to know anything story/lore wise about Cadence before I play this? Does it link to Crypt's ending, cus I never beat that game.
Team Cherry Metroid Dread
really hurt my feelings there user
This shit is really hard...
youtube.com
Catchy as hell.
Give or take half year.
Necrodancer is hard. Cadence of Hyrule is piss easy to brute force your way through since you keep your weapons.
they'll need a couple more artists probably, but hell yes
yeah just like CotND every beat of each song sends waves of subliminal messages through my head, slowly convincing me to go full tranny
any good indie shmup developers? Because Star Fox in the vein of Gradius has potential
Are there any good mods for Necrodancer that add content?
I never played necrodancer so it's really hard to me
Probably.
Having an other game where Zelda plays the the majority role in defeating Gannon would be nice, though.
its all trial and error, learning when its safe to strike and when not to. its easier for fans of the previous game because the enemies are going to share a lot of the same movement patterns/hitboxes
It's in the options menu. You can switch it to turn based mode.
Zone 5 in an All Zones run is a victory lap since you should be armed to the teeth by that point.
Zone 5 in an Aria run generally sucks balls and I still can't clear it consistently.
So I know it's replayable but how much?
I'm making the math on how many hours will this bring me for $25
>sequel to a game I liked is on an entirely different platform
This is the worst meme
I understand why but it still fucking sucks
HOW LONG IS THE GAME LADS?
Are the 4 dungeons the same ones every time? 3 of mine so far are a frozen lake hylia, lost swamp, and temple of storms.
yo how do you fucking climb on top of the half-blocks that you would otherwise just push? some sections in the game seem to require you do to that but idk how
been playing for 3 hours and I have 60% of the map completed but I don't think I did a single "dungeon" yet
This, it's a real kick in the nuts and just the kind of thing that makes me refuse to keep supporting the devs. Just like the extra content in dragon quest for the switch.
oh boy, this is absolutely nothing compared to KH before the ps4 collections
at least this is happening because nintendo funded it, but back in the day square enix just said fuck it, scatter everything on anything that isn't an xbox
I think you can only climb those if they can't be moved, also you get the gauntlet later that will let you move up blocks wherever
is it replayable?
this is what im wondering
after you beat it, is there reason to go back?
even like a random dungeon mode similar to the original would be enough.
I think link and zelda are different enough to justify it. I don't know about cadence since she's just become an npc giving out items.
overworld and dungeons are randomly generated
fuck I hope this comes to PS4 or at least PC...
Just bought this.
Does it really have multiple zelda worlds in it? Someone said something like that in the treehouse.
>I'll buy the zelda game when it comes to non nintendo consoles
lmao
I feel like link may be OP. He gets 2 shield upgrades and can attack while shielding.
Redpill me on this game /vp/
...
Huh. You can't actually play as Cadence?
Yes, it should be relatively easier than Necrodancer. Necrodancer is blisteringly difficult as a note.
item descriptions also mention cadence so she's probably unlockable after finishing the game
This shit is too hard and asks the player to learn too much too quickly. Every action is either pass or fail. There is no in-between.
Generally, games allow you to utilize less than optimal strategies while you acclimate to the game's difficulty and learn strategy. These strategies are usually safer, but slower and less rewarding. There's no such thing in Cadence/Necrodancer.
there's a daily challenge mode but it didn't notice if there is any leaderboards to go with that or if its just for fun.
you get to die without losing major progress and even purchase stuff after you do, once I got the lance in the game over screen I pretty much started steamrolling the game
There's a leaderboard in the pause menu.
CoH is very forgiving, you lose basically no progress when you die. Even in dungeons you only have to beat each floor once to permanently be able to skip it. I was expecting dungeons to be full areas like in Necrodancer where you have to beat it + the boss in one go
>once I got the lance I pretty much started steamrolling
this
I'm having an easier time with the rhythm keeping than I thought I would
Maybe I'm just naturally gifted at music
The OST is so fucking good
Just unlocked Cadence right before the fourth dungeon.
So have I. I feel like I have to get back into the rhythm and learn the enemy types
Sorry looks too calArts for me. Also piggybacking on Zelda is lame.
>buzzword
is it worth $25?
Watching the gameplay I like the hubworlds and adventure feeling. Did the original have that too or was it strictly thrown into a dungeon and crawling?
yep, the original was just crawling through floors, this one is pretty much zelda + rythm complete with inventory, map and selectable weapons
Necro was just dungeons.
Kys casualscum
You're not supposed to buy those items. They're the game's "accessibility options". The devs said so.
I love the sprites in this game
Holy shit they're so based
Tell me about the challenge mode.
Did they hint at adding characters at all? Would be sick to see Sorry, Tingle, Darunia and stuff like that to give some more varied options
It has more soul than some actual Zelda games.
Tingle is an npc who gives you the Tingle Dowser to help find treasure.
if you want all that shit go play Hyrule Warriors nigga
Hey guys, yay or nay?
Shall I buy this game today?
You'd like the original too, skeletons dancing from square to square and whatnot.
How about you stop typing so GAY
I've only found two things I can spend diamonds on. Items after death and upgrading weapons at the fairy fountain. So I bought a broadsword and put +1 on it.
Gohmaracas was FUN
this fucking game is the most FUN I had in a while
NEVA!
It's just a seeded perma death run with a random character for that day. Today is actually with cadence.
look like crap
Is the locked mode where you play turn based instead of rhythm easier or harder?
Has anyone finished the game yet? What unlocks when you finish it?
So the character differences I've noticed are:
Link
>spin attack
>shields
>short sword
>long sword (2 long and you hold it in front of you)
zelda
>dins fire
>nayrus love
>dagger
>rapier(more damage from a lunge)
cadence
>shovel stun in a 3x2 area
>shields
>dagger
>greatshovel(broadsword that also digs)
The way projectiles also move to the beat is really cool
Asdf
Easier obviously, just like the bard from necrodancer. Enemies aren't that dangerous on their own, difficulty comes from needing to make split second decisions while keeping on beat
>chest that only unlocks if you take zero damage and miss zero beats on the screen
motherfuck
The archery minigame is still harder.
So hold on, I'm not supposed to buy anything with my diamonds post deathcause it makes it easy mode? Which one is that?
The wide attack sword?
Is the game as hard as the first one? Someone tell me
I actually got the heart container from it the first time after i realized you have to hold the bow for a beat before it fires. It was only 10 points. unless there's more to earn in there.
I'm surprised I've been to roughly 3/4th of the map and only encountered 1 of that gimmick chest.
Since the weapon is a permanent unlock, yes the game will be easier.
20 points for the bigger quiver. I could only do it once I got the piercing great bow.
fuck this stone golem cuck
Not that user but what about the heart container? Do you think you can max out your health without it or is it just a superfluous one they added to make things easier
speedrun game
But is there any interesting unlocks or challenging content? I'm not quite sold on it yet.
Right now the only thing we know of is that you can enable double speed and permadeath mode in the options.
Final Smash: A beat track appears at the bottom of the screen for a brief period, playing in time with the existing bgm. During this, opponents must execute their movements and attacks in time with the beat, taking increasing amounts of damage whenever they miss or move off beat. Cadence is immune from this damage, and can heal a slight bit each time she moves on beat.
>Link and Zelda's legendary weapons require hoverboots to obtain.
I probably missed an item in the overworld that would make it easier to get them.
>spooty is already #1 by a significant margin
OF FUCKING COURSE
CAN HE EVER BE STOPPED
how are you so good?
>love necrodancer
>one day it just stops getting updates entirely
>it's because it got a sequel for a different platform
WHEN WILL I STOP BEING ETERNALLY KEKED
He was a beta tester apparently, so he already beat the game before release and knows exactly how to beat it.
I played Crypt for like 5 minutes and decided that I couldn't get into it at all (I know, I usually give games a couple of hours before I decide if I don't like them) but this seems REALLY cool as a Zelda fan. Should I check this out?
If your issue is the rhythm, this game has a turn based mode without it
It's the same gameplay.
Spooty is not entirely of this Earth.
He's the first person to beat Coda mode in Necrodancer. When the DLC hit and the scoreboards were wiped, he was SPEEDRUNNING coda and beating his own time over and over. While being the only fucking person in the entire scoreboard.
youtube.com
So, nonstop practice and being unnaturally gifted and autistic.
Should I buy it while it's on sale to give it another chance? I only had it on PS4 and I don't have access to one right now.
Did anyone find out how to wake up the Zora Prince, if it is even possible to do so?
sauce
yes. literally keep dying to this faggot
If music is good as necromancer that not just zelda remix, I may get it.
I think I bombed 3 ghosts and the rest disappear.
Shit game with shit graphics.
Fuck nintendo and their shitty switch with shitty graphics. Their games are an embarrassment to the industry.
Thanks, I think it was the ghost in the top right that needs to blow up, as it is the only one that talks apparently.
Yeah I'm thinking that's one more name for the filter
I fucking love gungeon but I don't really get the varied argument. If you do 2 or 3 complete runs you've surely seen every possible room it can generate
>durability
why
why the fuck do they shove this shit mechanic everywhere they can in zelda games
It was in Necrodancer
This shit is so great
>The puzzles
>the music
>the faithful translation of enemies
I love it
Because people like you go
>Brainy go owie when thinkthoughts required!
not at all
CERTAIN items broke on hit, that is literally it
>spooty already at the top
bruh
It looks to me that the game is generous enough with giving you an inventory honestly.
so.. like this game?
>cadence is out already
Please tell me the music is as great as the first game?
Once you get with the winning team.
Zelda or link
Link is for casuals who can't time deflections and also want a super tank.
have you even played this game?
>they used hyrule warriors Impa
At least someone has recognized that she is objectively the best Impa
I just found out one of the guys that worked on Sonic Mania's sprite art worked on this. No wonder it looks good.
This game is really, really easy.
>Mindlessly mash my way up to the future hyrule segment
>Can't cope now that there is a dungeon longer than 1 floor.
Well no shit, most of the player base started with necrodancer. Go unlock coda mode and proceed too get your shit pushed in.
HW impa definitely didn't have dark skin, I think this is closer to SS
>the same easy game except you die in one hit so you have to retry over and over like a goldfish (Now With Wacky Floor Hazards Every 2 Steps!)
No thanks, I prefer well-designed difficulty. That shit's not fun.
>he gets hit all the time
So... the game is actually not easy then?
get good
thanks user I love you
It is when every enemy shits health out of every orifice.
First time playing a nintendo game, are all you people this insufferable when someone criticizes your games?
gay
SJWs strike again
>first time playing a nintendo game
what the fuck
I didn't have consoles growing up.
>First time playing a nintendo game
it isn't even a nintendo game
please drop the charade
If you had a pc then you had access to console games
>going out of your way to save only 3 dollars and not support a good game
dont be such a douche
It's a shame this won't get a physical release nor a Cadence Amiibo.
Okay yeah now that you mention it I did emulate a couple Pokemon games singleplayer and alone like a retarded kid so most of the appeal was lost on me
>Thought the two player one controller final boss was bad in the original game
>Now it's controlling all 3 characters at once
At least this game let's you keep respawning in front of the boss equipped with strong weapons.
Haven’t played the original Necrodancer but thinking about getting his, how is it?
youtube.com
Judge by yourself, I won't say anything
Wish I had a Switch. This game looks amazing. Original NecroDancer was also very good
>buying mods
Just tell me if the devs are SJW or not before I buy this
If that was true, they could have used Oracle Impa who is extremely fat
Yes
Is there anything big to dump diamonds into later or is it just bomb chus and shit after buying 2 hearts and a weapon?
I'm enjoying the turn based mode
What? Why am I getting this sad panda shit, again? I got rid of that forever ago.
>these are the same people that spam NPC memes everywhere
You can’t make this shit up.
2 questions please help Yea Forumsros;
1. how the hell do you kill deku scrubs? hitting seed back doesn't work because they always drop back down, and they never pop up unless you are far enough away so you can't use your sword
2. on the map I see what looks like stair icons, but there are never any stairs in the actual location.. wtf?
At the last dungeon, you can use them to buy potions if you remembered to buy the empty bottle.
>1. how the hell do you kill deku scrubs?
As link, you need to have 1 space between you and the shrub then shield and move towards it as it fires.
>stair icons
any kind of cave on that tile
>clear time 4:07:55
>steps 23786
>game overs 17
I can't into rhythm and I was still able to brainlet my way through the game easily.
cadenceofhyrule.nintendo.com
cool site
How does difficulty compare to the first game?
When Nintendo sees something interesting they're willing to give.
Read up on how the Star Fox collaboration for Star Link happened.
Yes he game was meh, but it's still a good story.
Significantly easier.
I just saw Mario + Rabbids physically for like 75% off
>>stair icons
>any kind of cave on that tile
I literally just used all my bombs on every area and now nothing is left but ground and there is still a stair icon
That fight was easy as hell. You don't even have to line up the characters they just lock in.
Bombable walls have cracks on them. Cut all the grass and burn all the dead trees.
I love the look of this game,
but I can't hold a beat to save my dinner.
>gotta go to the lake
>everything hints towards needing flippers
>can't find it
>bypass with wing boots
Interesting, it looks like there are more ways to solve things
DO NOT SPEND DIAMONDS
DO NOT SPEND DIAMONDS
THEY ARE ONLY AVAILABLE IF THE INTENDED DIFFICULTY IS TOO HIGH
DO NOT SPEND DIAMONDS
DO NOT SPEND DIAMONDS
you're supposed to kill the ghosts in the cave with the sleeping zora then he gives you the flippers
You can't tell me what to do.
How would you rate this game, Yea Forums?
Worth it? Having fun?
Why, what happens if you do?
You get locked out of the best ending.
That's a thing?
There's a turn based mode for people like you.
No, he's lying.
the war drum is really fucking good
>double damage for skipping a beat
not sure if this is true or bait
the game also never says anything about "they are only available if difficulty is too high"
>tfw I can hold a beat perfectly but suck at thinking on my toes
I just end up throwing myself into enemies until I die
hope for yuzu, maybe
It's just like activating easy mode. Like a mobile game where you pay $.99 for a power up to help you complete a level. The game is balanced around not having any diamond-purchased equipment. If you want to complete the game at the difficulty the developers intended, pass on the diamond items.
Are you locked into turn based mode or can you switch at any time?
and yet the game never tells you this, stop making shit up
Thank god, the original filtered me. Fun game though, but can only get beaten down so much until you want to do anything else.
>tr*nny shit
Gonna pass, you estrogent pl*bbitors should fuck off back to your favorite subpl*bbit
You can switch as you see fit
>om a lunge)
any master sword?
What happens if you don't match the beat? Weaker rewards?
Can you unlock all characters in one run and switch between them or are you stuck with one character
You really gotta be thinking a few steps ahead. Relying on reaction time makes it so much harder, considering most enemies behave predictably. I find it helps to establish a holding pattern to keep yourself in relative safety while you figure out what to do next.
if you're not on beat you don't move/attack. If you don't miss a beat and defeat multiple enemies you get a multiplier until you miss a beat/get hit and some chests require you to clear a room without missing a beat
There is already plenty of testimony claiming that the game became too easy once they started buying gear from the death shop. Perhaps the devs figured that having these items available after death, and optional, was enough of a hint to the players, but it seems like everyone is just grabbing this shit and not thinking about it. Regardless if you don't believe that this is what the devs intended, its already agreed that the death shop items make the game too easy. What's your endgame for defending them?
yuzu-emu.org
>Crypt of the NecroDancer: Nintendo Switch Edition
>Compatibility: Won't Boot
Probably. I've only found the named versions of the broadsword, longsword, rapier, and greatshovel. The longsword is the only one that is actually more powerful than a titanium weapon (3 damage instead of 2)
The devs intended for you to do a no damage taken run only
Where can I download the NSP?
>leaderboard counts deaths
>classic Zelda games also used to do this
>Link's Awakening had that extra scene when you got zero deaths
>Cadence overworld theme is Awakening inspired plus the remake coming out means Awakening is on everyone's minds
Could it be that the best ending is a no death run, not necessarily a no diamond purchases run?
>Put fun items in game
>But DON'T use them
Nigga people can do self imposed challenge runs later
There is no Master Sword. Link's unique weapon is called Caladbolg and it is a 2-handed sword.
Have you never played any rogue-lite that has permanent upgrades after each "run"?
What about short short? Only Link can use them. I found a legendary broadsword in the final dungeon, so each weapon class could have a legendary weapon.
Nevermind faggots. Already got the link, holy shit is so easy to steal games, anyone who actually spends money on this is a retard.
hbg shop
ok, thanks for letting us know
The unique version of the short sword is the Kokiri Sword.
CoH is not balanced for permanent upgrades. This was intentional, but not made clear.
>not wanting to give money to people who would happily ship you off to a work camp for saying bad words or things that are true but go against their ideology
>wow you guys are the exact same wowooowowowowww
Fence shitting ""intellectual"" centrist shitters are far worse than sjws/commies, especially when it comes to their impact on video games. You faggots are the people who let shit get to the absolute extreme by enabling hardcore social justice or lootbox shit.
I'm having fun so far desu
>Using the word intellectual in the same post you post a pepe image.
What about buying the morningstar and empty bottle from Beetle? They cost diamonds.
Where do i spend Rupees? Already bought the Goron Charm, found 3 of the 4 temples and im around 1700 rupees.
Is there some expensive item somewhere? I don't want to lose all of it if i die.
so he's... a BEATER?
Playing the original crypt of the necrodancer for the first time.
Is there any punishment to not getting to the stairs before the song end? The beats turning red and the sound kind of makes it sound like I shouldn't let it happen, but I haven't really noticed anything negative about it.
Why shouldn't I simply try to loot as much goods from a level as I can even if the song ends? Why should I ever give up on treasure just to get to the stairs?
Whiteoid upset about scary pronouns detected.
Ahahaha I'm in 10th place for the fastest clear
Empty bottle and snorkel cost 80 each. Arrow game costs 20 per round, bombchu game costs 30 per round.
It instantly throws you down a floor
Is that the Cane of Somaria.
They call him...the Black Swordsman
It advances you to the next floor automatically and kills your combo. Like, a hole opens up underneath you, immediately sent down a floor.
Has anyone tried killing the shopkeeper while in a dungeon? In the first game you could get the crown of greed for killing him. Anything drop off him if he can be killed in this?
yes
Can I buy everything and disable it?
i accidentally angered one but got out without killing him. pretty sure you are able to, he just has a normal health bar
holy shit what a retard, have you even played a roguelike before?
how did you like kates contributions to this game Yea Forums
Nice.
You lose your combo because you're immediately sent to the next floor. Some gear depends on your combo string to increase their effect so it could potentially fuck you up the next floor.
is this that wife of egghead
Death shop barely has anythign itneresting in it beyond a few hearts and the broad sword. Everythign else is just consumables
What songs?
>ace combat
>kingdom hearts
>now this
Fucking hell.
Yes
You can get a lance which completely breaks the game.
oboe boss (or other oboe related things)
She's Wizzoboe and the Ice dungeon music
Might be that it depends on the character you play? With Zelda i only got the broadsword. And i'm pretty sure you can get all of the items in the normal world anyways, at most you get a headstart
Anyone know what to do with deku seeds?
Give 10 of them to Tingle and he doubles your Stamina/Magic bar
You should be able to completely clear the level before the beats even turn red.
>kingdom hearts
>GBA, cellphones, a browser game, Vita
I've always been an idort but following that series looks like a massive pain in the ass.
Brainlet here. What do?
Thanks, user. Didn't know who to take them to.
Has anyone found the first charm? I have the other 4 and cannot figure out where it is.
I think you need the glove to move the stones.
Nevermind, found it.
I can push them, just can't figure out how to stack them high enough to reach the chest.
Come back once you have power gloves or cane.
Where to farm hover boots? Or where do I buy em?
>can easily keep the beat
>still die to stupid shit like minotaurs
should I just take it up the ass and play bard instead?
>got necrodancer yesterday because it was on sale
>having lots of fun with it, reached zone 2 with cadence, eli and bard and nearly beat zone 2 with eli
>want to get this too but feel like it would be a waste to just ditch the first after a few hours to play this instead
What do?
Do you actually get to play as Cadence in the game after the intro? I got Zelda as Link.
>everywhere they can in zelda games
Have you only ever played BOTW or something?
>thinking apu is pepe
good job you managed to btfo your retarded ad hom in less than 15 words.
I unlocked Cadence near the end of the game.
I don't have a switch.
>buy Cadence of Hyrule now, finish Necrodancer
or
>finish Necrodancer, eventually get Cadence of Hyrule during a sale
Get in here if you want Cadence of Hyrule
Idk I think I like OG Necro better
This is a baby's Necro and hardly a Zelda
Hyrule Warriors is still the peak Zelda content
I'm notin the intended age group
Am I a casual if this game is giving me a hard time?
>Got Link
>Don't know where to go or what to do
>Cadence just fucks off
>Die
>Get to area where you can't miss a beat or take damage or else NO CHEST FOR YOU
>Die
>Find sleeping Lizard Prince, umm ok
>Enemies everywhere, move on my ass the minute I try to fight them
>Die
Fun game, nice concept, but wow is it hard. Came in thinking it was going to be a walk in the park like every other Zelda game, but looks like I was mistaken.
There is usually nothing keeping you from moving somewhere else, just skip areas and get the shrines for now and beat those you are comfortable with. It gets easier as you find items
Why am I having so much trouble finding these gears? I found only one so far.
anyone else watching zeldathon while marathoning this game?
They are all in that same area, just clear the sand in front of the flags to get to the caves
All 3 doors are buried behind sand in that 2x2 area. There's one extra gear on the overworld in the forest for some reason.
>They used the best Impa model
This game is full of surprises
Cool. Though the first gear I found was on a cliff puzzle and not behind these sand doors. So I had thought they were all over the map instead of where they are.
Just finished it. Pretty easy as someone that's played necrodancer. Missed a bottle, the flippers, and another passive item somewhere, unless you just straight up can't get certain items in a run.
Daily challenge run is interesting, but I'm not sure what the point is given each run is several hours long. Feels a bit like a ALTP randomizer.
I might just do one run per character. shame it takes a while to find cadence
I was able to fill up all my item slots when I went exploring after beating the game. You get bottles from the two Beetle shops and the shop on the beach.
You get enough time with both Link and Zelda in the hyrule castle segment. I could see doing the solo run option with Cadence afterward just to see what changes during the last two boss fights.
Attention: Necrodancer has high as fuck difficulty and Diamonds will not save you in most cases. If Cadence of Hyrule is different, then it's inherently worse.
How hard is the game if you don't spend any diamonds?
It's not necessarily worse, but it is definitely easier, specially for those who played the first. It has a different focus.
At the game over shop, diamonds can be spent on torches and shovels, neither of which is a huge advantage in combat. There is also a one time purchase to unlock either a broadsword or a spear which can be found in the game naturally.
The lack of difficulty comes from respawning in front of bosses with the same weapon and a huge health pool.
What's the focus then?
>cate
Is this an actual female or an (((FEMALE)))?
Zelda fanservice for mouthbreathing nintentoddlers
Slightly harder until you find a weapon naturally, then the exact same difficulty. No diamonds would mean you can't infuse weapons so you'd also have to find infused weapons naturally.
Puzzles, exploration and progression. It's a zelda lite game in the necrodancer style.
Don't misunderstand me though, I do think this game is not as good as Necrodancer but not because of its difficulty, but instead because it fails at capturing the same replay value as Necrodancer and also fails as a zelda game. It's just a fanservice game.
non casuals are smelly basement dwellers
she's egg "5000 isaac episode" northernlion's wife
Do you think they'll add more content to the game?
It looks pretty great with daily challenges and whatnot already but it would be neat to see more final bosses and whatnot over time
Well the game seems to be designed to let you beat it. You have to go through the entire game, but it lets you respawn from the rooms whenever you die, so it's structured like zelda if you're playing with the regular settings.
That being said, the real meat of the game seems to come from the fact that the daily challenge only gives you one life and you can customise your game to do that as well.
It takes longer to get the deku, good luck running with him though.
Anyone figured out who the 5th character is? I know about the Deku but there's still an empty spot on the main menu.
thanks for the info pirating it right now
How is the deku unlocked, and how is it different? That's the first mention of it in this thread.
Probably something with the seeds?
If you can get 20 deku seeds, and find where Tingle is, he'll give you something special if you talk to him twice.
He's pretty much Aria, half a heart, can only attack in a one tile range, can't use any other weapons/items.
>20 deku seeds
I got 12 and there are no more deku icons on the map.
Really? Do you have the treasure charm to see the hidden ones?
Maybe it's a seeded thing idk, would be wank if it was down to rng.
There's a cave room with 8 of them together. I don't remember where it was.
So is it good or not?
It's a fun game user, although for what it is it's probably too pricey.
>purchase Cadence of Hyrule
>it gives enough points to cover the entire cost of the original game
There are 8 of them in a cave in the lost woods. Search for a wall with cracks on it.
Are there pieces of heart in dungeons? I've cleared out the overworld and am missing two pieces.
>turn on switch
>$40 AUD
>turn off switch
>king konga with crown of thorns
gg ez
I only ever played a bit of necrodancer but this is really fucking good and the soundtrack is 11/10, its just a little pricey for what you get.
If you're like me and love zelda, rhythm games, and dungeon crawlers then the price is probably justifiable.
Some of the dungeon shops and overworld shops had heart pieces.
Get better money.
I really hope they update the game w/ more content.. the price is ridiculous
Forgot to mention that I think I saw at least one in the gameover shop.
I got the two full containers from the diamond shop. Guess I'll check all the shops and see if I missed one.
Have you played a roguelite before?
You unlock more stuff the more you play through it
Roughly how many hours am i getting?
Hows the dlc for necrodancer? it's half off on steam
between 4-6
Keikaku doori
