Man, I'd hate to be the guy in charge of editing these trailers. There's only so much you can do when the 'cutscenes' in this game are made of series of canned emotes with the characters standing around most of the time. Must be hell to try and find a scene or shot that remotely feels impressive/epic.

The MCH aetherotransformer shifts your internal aether into a lightning-aspect to power your gadgets, and Garleans use machines to cast shit like 'Magitek Fire' .They're not manipulating it, the machine does. Extreme primals are meant to be done with randoms, although you'll still see people fail fairly frequently.
Savage raids can be done with randoms in theory, but in practice, that's an exercise in masochism. Old savage raids can be unsynched, though, making them more accessible (some can still murder you, though).

If you want to do current savage content, I would strongly suggest making some friends and going with them as part of a static.

I just told myself last week I was going to finish BA and powered through all of Pyros and Hydatos. Took me about three days of playing 10 hours a day. Overall, Eureka took me longer than leveling a new character from 1-70.

No, that's not how it works just like fucking ceruleum doesn't vanish from magitek when a Garlean touches it. The aether exists and is part of the world, he and the Garleans just can't naturally manipulate it, so they use machines to do it for them. That's what magitek is, and has been from the beginning.

Soul crystals without the knowledge of the job inside them are useless. Having a whm crystal when you don't know how to cast holy isn't going to help anything.

Also BLM soul crystals were made from a meteor fragment and we sent that meteor away for another trip in the latest BLM questline so you can't really make those without the material to do so.

Just MSQ or trials, the latter is fast and each time you get one with a newbie in it that's an extra 75 poetics

This isn't some low key unknown series, the FF brand comes with standards, and this game has nothing to show for it.

It's not a spinoff either, it's part of the main series, Yoshida should make his priority to deliver the level of visual quality the series is known for.

Besides story and music, this game is an eyesore to the series. Not saying graphics make a game, XIII and XV are proof of that, but don't you think it's a shame XIV had the potential to be one of the best FF games in a while but it's dragged down by such shitty production values ?

Imagine if the best part of the XIV's story (HW) had the same amount of production values XIII and XV had for the visuals, and everything from that point on.

No you really can't. Job stones hold the memories of the warriors who previously used the stone and teach you those skills. On WHM case nobody will teach you how to cast holy if you walk up to a padjal with a brand new WHM stone because white magic is taboo. So even if it helps on the aether aspect, it still doesn't change the fact you'll have to develop white magic from scratch.

The new jobs like MCH have the inventor of the job teach you directly and the job stone is assimilating the knowledge for when we die and the job stone gets passed to another.

Also notice how Elidibus can still use magic while inside Zenos's body, and how Zenos can use magic once he's copied the Echo into himself. Magic is something to do with a person's soul, and the Garlean soul is broken. Thancred's got fucked when he spent too long in the Lifestream.

WHM crystals were created by the Amdapori. They didn't have contact with the Elementals because the Elementals didn't want it.

It wouldn't have the spells and knowledge within it no, but you could still make a new one that fulfills the aetherial regulation function which is the biggest hurdle to black magic.

Something went really, really right in HW and everyone knew it, so it never really got any major changes afterwards.

Compared to every other job in the game, BLM has a completely logical ability flow that makes it easy to understand and preform in a vacuum, yet difficult in practice as it's one of the least tolerant jobs when it comes to having to reposition or otherwise interrupt your casts. The job awards foresight into fights, which is why as players learn more and more, their DPS improves so much on BLM compared to others. It's also why BLMs have such hard times adapting to new fights because unlike other DPS, even casters, their mobility is very limited. The one area they have any flexibility in that other jobs don't is they can modify their rotation on the spot to adjust for changing conditions, something not possible with set in stone combos which require linear progression or starting them over.

I always wished we had a heavy melee that worked on a similar concept, but melee by nature is far more mobile as they don't have cast times to worry about.

You can make new spells though, or just transfer the source for your existing spells to the external aether. For example, we see Mumuepo cast a spell we know as Flare, but he casts it using thaumaturgy which draws from internal aether his is also bigger, which means you can still do crazy shit without even using Black Magic. RDM also casts a Flare spell, but it was altered to draw from internal sources instead. So you can shift any spell to draw from either source.

If you want to sell people costumes you need the early game stuff to fucking suck. Endgame gear needs to look good and be rewarding so once people start collecting that their desire for MTX gear drops. MTX gear has to compete with those low level sets. Obviously you can't remove good looking high level gear that would make the game too shit, but having bad low level gear is the reasonable compromise.

Part of it is pride too, SE could open up a branch in the west to help them with some of the backend stuff like the engine and server architecture, but they choose not to do so since they want to use a mostly Japanese staff. Which is commendable that they want to employ their countrymen, but doesn't mean we're going to get the best product because of it.

One of the few things the west outclasses Japan handily on are all the small, backend developments which make a game more playable -- engine work. Japan excels in using old and sometimes outdated systems to their full ability and pour in tons of labor to develop workarounds for limitations, whereas the west continually develops and redevelops their systems to accommodate new and/or more efficient functions. If SE would consider using a western based studio for some of the groundwork, we probably wouldn't be facing as many issues like a functional GCD limit of .7 seconds, Raubahn EX, regular 90002 errors after updates, or any number of latency issues that plague the game.

Remember, XIV is basically a reverse WoW. Downtime is stuffed with boring filler that mostly serves to pad for time, the game is punctuated with great setpiece fights and major plot points revealed, which keep you interested. WoW instead crafts very interesting subplots and completely shits the bed when it comes to major story development which makes you want to strangle whoever wrote the mess, causing you to forget the small things it did right.

XIV would generally be heavily improved by reducing the amount of filler content that only serves as a distraction from truly good stuff.

Nobody said conjurer is weaker than white mage, white mage just focus on white magic/light magic while conjurer focuses on air/wind/water elemental magic.

Louisoix is technically a Conjurer but he's a master wizard from Sharlayan who knows all sorts of ancient and forbidden techniques. Y'shtola is the same because she learned from both him and Matoya.

Eureka is a good way to make gil with all the materia you get from opening lockboxes

Classes are basically a gameplay construct and all Job stones do is bestow past knowledge upon us and let us skip years of training.

In actual in-world lore, your knowledge and practice gets you a lot further than any class/job's basics and takes you far beyond a job stone.

Benchmark is crafted so people can test the performance on their machine. It's not "false advertising" and good luck trying to take it to court under advertising at all.

Gridanian conjurers do have a power cap because they borrow all their aether with permission from the Elementals. Other conjurers can probably go balls to the wall though because they wouldn't have that power cap and are still drawing ambient aether like a white mage does. I haven't played since Heavensward. My understanding is AST/SCH both went under some heavy changes, which one should I play? They were the two classes I enjoyed the most.

When I leveled an alt, the first thing I did was unlock glamors and buy a set of anemos glamor for 2000 gil off the MB and apply it to every single crafter gear I got my hands on. Still didn't quite fix the issue, but it looked a hell of a lot better than it previously did.

In fact, I started looking long and hard at level independent glamor stuff, the SB PvP gear is great for that since it only requires level 1 to equip and still looks like it belongs on a combat job.

Is there any gear set for GNB that's better than Alexandrian? It's very nice gear on its own but it's perfect for a gunblade class. I hope the actual alex gunblade looks cool too.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it works. Aether rarely sits still, and it's constantly slowly flowing in and out of you. You naturally regenerate your mana by resting or eating food, and it can be sped up by entering an umbral state that essentially slows the flow of aether through you and lets it accumulate. But as far as casting magic goes, once you've run your mana dry for the moment you can't keep casting or else you're going to start eating away at your body and soul.

There's nothing left to explore that would be relevant to where the story is going.
