How good is emulation on the switch?

the cost is through the roof but a modern smartphone with some kind of clip-on controller or a stand to use with a wired controller

I've played the entire fucking N64 library on my S9 using a wired 360 controller and a wireless charging stand if the batt gets low

It's developing really fast, better optimized cores and mild overclocks really helped playability

I have a note 9 and was thinking about getting a bluetooth controller for it. How accurate are emulators for android phones?

NES, SNES, GBC, GBA all work fine on almost any emulator with a couple of exceptions that require a bit of tweaking to framedrops or whatever
N64 games can be tricky but almost every game has a list of recommended settings somewhere online
i've never tried PS1 stuff at all
Gamecube games are hit and miss on my S9, but with the slight upgraded specs of the Note and some more dedication to tweaking settings i'm sure loads of games would run without a problem. visually they all look great but when there's action on-screen on my phone things get really sluggish

do some testing with the touchscreen controls and if you like what you're seeing, spring for a controller. most of my GBC/GBA/NES games i just use the touchscreen controls rather than bust out the entire setup

ps2 emulator is in the works for vita, so get ready for all of Yea Forums to lose their minds when we get portable ps2 this year.

What to emulate on it though? Can it emulate PS2 games?

I'm trying to hack it and I'm stuck. I was following the trinity hack and I got up to the part where I have to install henkaku and vitashell, Iinstalled henkaku and that was successful, but when I try to download vitashell, I just get a "failed 0x80436003". Does anyone know what I need to do?

ps2 emulator is never coming in playable form on vita. ARM hardware is too weak. I mean fuck PCs that are 5x more powerful still have lag trying to run some PS2 games.

Yes.

Some PS1 games are almost unplayable without accessories, like MegaMan Legends. Also the problem with Vita is the the analog stick drifting away because of the dirt accumulating inside the analog.

>try PS2 emulation on my toaster, thinking even if it runs a bit like ass i'll be fine
>unplayable at like 10% speed
>years later get a PC that can run recently released shit at 1080/60 without breaking a sweat
>try out PS2 emulation again
>roughly 25% speed

i mean... yeah i'd consider this machine to be 2.5 times better than the last but... damn

i have a 360 controller thats worked for years on ANYTHING, no problem. set it up with my PC/Steam so it will use the right stick as the mouse and it drifts like CRAZY unless i crank deadzones to max, and even then it will occasionally decide to go on an adventure without me

Better than Vita

psp, ps1, retroarch with NES, SNES, ATari, Genesis, ect. Pretty much any retro consoles. Vita games can be downloaded directly from sony servers. Customer theme managers. Ability to use SD2vita (non sony memory cards), ect. Pretty much anything. So officially better than PSP for emulation and homebrew since it runs everything the PSP could, plus vita games, plus better controls and display.

Can it run PS games?

Are you trying to run it in 6x native resolution or something? I have a shitty i3 with Intel HD graphics and most PS2 games I've tried so far have worked pretty well. Maybe it's just the specific game?

yeah

i was specifically trying to run FFXII:IZJS. if i tried something less intensive it might have been fine. i just figured since it was RUNNING and looked alright visually on my last machine that moving up to a proper i7 and quadrupling my RAM would make enough difference to jump up to full speed

i wound up getting the remaster anyways

is this shit pirateable now?

best bang for the buck (if bought at

it's been for ages and it's near the end of its cycle

for raw dollar value the vita is absolutely the top dog when it comes to homebrew shit
the battery
the screen
the portability
the number of buttons and control options

it's just a no brainer. obviously better options exist for 6x the price but hot damn that vita is a treat

the cycle of active pirating community (judging by how much of a a ghost town NextGenRoms is)

Do you have a source for this?

But I already have a psp
