Pathfinder:Kingmaker ~Enhanced~

How fares your current run, Yea Forums
You aren't a stinking low INT casual who barely knows the rules and mechanics, right?

I tried to get into it but i really don't understand how they managed to complicate shit so much in comparision to dnd vidya. Guess i'm a brainlet.

Knowing the rules doesn't make the game more fun. In fact it makes it even less fun after you realise how poorly designed most encounters are. The best think about Kingmaker is the character creator, everything is downhill from there.

so bored I might play this

13 int but only for the feat stat requirement.

Does this game have mindless click and watch your guys fight combat like baldurs gate and plane scape?

how is the necromancer?

Yes.

I quit the original somewhere after the lich wizard boss after that the fights became a mess of constant quickload/save. with the enemy AC being all over the place and generally unfun, so I turned the difficulty to the lowest possible "story-mode" or so, quickly lost interest after that. Did the new version improve this in a way?

>The best think about Kingmaker is the character creator, everything is downhill from there.
This can be said about p&p Pathfinder too. Best character building, worst actual gameplay.

Yes in that they rebalanced the last dungeon which was a major chore.
Everything else is due to your lack of strategy and prebuffing as enemy AC is never an issue at all unless on Hard/Unfair early game.

There is no summon limit.
You can unironically turn into a dragon and have a hundred skeletons with you.
THe summons are temporary, however.
There are some good necromancy debuffs.
There's a spell that rattles the bones of your foes.

My wife Valerie IS cute! She IS cute! You SHOULD romance Valerie! (You should! You should!)

Attached: Valerie.jpg (702x700, 123K)

Best necro game in years.

Early game they suffer a bit, but they're absolutely broken with spells level 5 and above.
Finger of Death, Horrid Wilting, and dare I say it, Death Clutch - which lets you tear the heart out of your enemies. Not to mention Grave Knight summoning, which breaks the game on normal difficulty levels. Lawful Evil is also the best alignment, so Necro is a great style to play.

>There's a spell that rattles the bones of your foes.

>cast boneshaker
>xylophone music starts playing

Based.

no I prebuffed like a motherfucker but I did play on hard. it might have been due to not minmaxing absolutely everything since I dont enjoy that, is that still required to beat the game?

>Grave Knight summoning
Is it that good?
I thought Create Undead summons were sadly rather crappy.

Isn't Pitax what comes after Vordekai? I felt like it was substantially easier overall.

The offensive one with the Halberd is shit, but the defense summon (thought it was Grave Knight) can tank late game stuff for 30 seconds or so.

People have been constantly recommending to choose custom difficulty and finetune the choices until it best fits your playstyle. You can even change it whenever you want, so blaming the game is just an excuse for people too lazy to click their mouses a few more times.

pitax was that kingdom in north-west corner of the map? I quit just before that

yeah but the problem was that easy-normal was too easy just walk over literally anything and hard difficulty just make you redo fights over and over again

The names for the preset difficulty choices are a misnomer. Normal is easy, halfway between Normal and Challenging is normal, Challenging is hard and Hard is the very hard/impossible. Everything after that is munchkin territory.

No, Pitax is in the Southwest. Northwest is where you go to face Armag, I forgot he was between Vordekai and Pitax. Either way don't really recall that part being too challenging aside from the quest where you go after Tristian.

>game is so unbalanced it needs you, the player, to rebalance it manually
Oh no no no no

How long until Pitax/tournanent shit starts? It's been months now. Not that I bitch about it, I like kingdom building, just would like to know.

Also Kalikke best waifu.

Hence the custom difficulty. Just finetune the options until you find the "just right' setting. AC isn't bullshit high but you're also not landing every hit.

>slept
>encountered some OP monsters that instantly killed my party
>uninstalled and went back to being D:OS2 bull

Memedon Chads unite

>The best think about Kingmaker is the character creator
Remind me of nwn2 where I spent more time making characters on nwn2db than playing the actual game

What's yout party? For me it wad the opposite, started out really hard, and by the lich it was easier due to all the cheese and op builds

it probably was that tristian quest that made me quit, dont really remember anymore since it was few months ago

I dont remember the names of the character anymore but

>dwarf cleric
>goblin rogue
>barbarian chick
>wizard (me)
>bard midget
if there was sixth slot that was for who ever I needed

Well, yes. That's why there's are choices in the difficulty settings. Every player have their own skill level and it's up to the players to determine their fun-to-challenging ratio. Far better than to breeze through one setting but constantly dying like a bitch in the next with nothing in between.

Hows the new dungeon, lads?

this

Is the super secret main antagonist romance worth the pain?

Attached: caw.jpg (1416x1364, 190K)

I tried to like the game 3 times. I was expecting it so bad that I tried to avoid any info or spoilers about it. So my first run was a mess (I killed or rejected some potential companions thinking it would have many more than it did).
So I restarted tried to do things a little bit better once I learned the limited possibilities the game has. Soon I got so bored of the kingdom management, poor writing and overall gameplay that I just had to quit again.
Then finally reinstalled it one more time to try to play it as a background game with full custom party to alt tab from every now and then but didn't work for me either. It's just very uninspiring and uninteresting.

is there any voice acting in this game?

>low int casuals
But you need persuasion which is a CHA skill

Attached: feyshitters.png (695x900, 942K)

Blame RtwP. DnD's combat system is fucking turned based and balanced around it.
RtwP kinda worked in the IE games because they have such a simplistic implementation your options are pretty much auto-attacking except when casting a spell. Once you implement all the shit like AoO, active and passive feats, movement and attack options, you need turn based for it to be functional, like in ToEE

There IS some voice acting BUT not full voice acting! Valerie DOES have cute voice WITH cute accent user! You SHOULD romance Valerie she IS the best she IS my wife! (She is! She is!)

Attached: Cute Valerie.jpg (1000x760, 159K)

I made a Sword-saint build with Rapier, how does it look? Should I rather max int, or dex?

Or I just reroll druid because I can't decide what to do with this class

Attached: Kingmaker_2019-06-13_15-29-30.jpg (1920x1080, 1.25M)

Fuck feyniggers.

First I made a Fighter specializing in Two-Handers (not Two-Handed Fighter subclass, because I prefer Armor Training over 6 more damage) and simply casting Enlarge Person and Lead Blades on him trivialized every encounter as he was dealing 40-50 damage per non-crit hit. I also put most spare feats into Trip line, could easily Trips trolls which also meant almost constant CC or quick death with no party damage.
I got bored with how easy and simple it was with almost zero build investement so at level 7 I rerolled an Eldrich Scion. He's much worse in general but more fun. The black guy Ranger however, enlarged and lead bladed with the Devourer of Metal bow still kills everything way too fast. I don't remember Enlarge Person being so OP in other DnD games, this shit is broken.

kek

>INT 9 (-1)
huh

Can I recruit based Vordakai if my character is LN? I can shift to LE if needed.

Attached: Vordakai.png (704x1408, 1012K)

How fucked up of them for implementing turn based Initiative system instead of doing it the BG/PoE/NWN way

I grew up playing D&D and even though I haven't played in over 10 years now, I still remember the rules and I can still understand the game. But that really doesn't make it any more fun, I just think the game doesn't work like that on PC, so I must agree with you.

Why Rapier when you went Elf and get free proficiency with the Elven Curved Blade?

Dolphins have 2 Intelligence user BUT they ARE smart! My wife IS more intelligent than a dolphin SO she IS smart!

Attached: Pretty Valerie.jpg (719x720, 239K)

>LE
>Sharing power with anyone

Well, if this list is correct, I wouldn't have a single unique curved blade to play with until the very endgame.

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSUpOZwVpOeNUjcUEWSPrXKyx-j6A4o1BHQD2c5THLenTet7141EOlFxbFH65C2TjBOXmXd7IcbXsk1/pubhtml#

Playing with the Turn-Based mod. I'm not very far yet, but I'm liking it. While wasting my mother fucking time getting into and out of battle for 2 fucking Centipedes every five steps in Old Oak sucked, it makes actual battles much more tactical and encourages not just face rolling everything with the highest damage, lowest APM bullshit that RTWP incentivizes.

> I don't remember Enlarge Person being so OP in other DnD games, this shit is broken.
Because in other games that had it like NWN2 it didn't have proper size increasing mechanics. Actually, ToEE might have, but I don't recall since it was pretty low level by default.
Enlarge gives a huge weapon dice increase, nevermind the stacking STR bonus as well.
A greatsword for example goes from 2d6 to 3d6 with Enlarge, 4d6 with Legendary Proportions, and then 5d6 with Lead Blades.
So you're literally hitting the enemies like Godzilla carrying around a building.
It's great fun and one of the reasons I think most shitters that complain about difficulty fail to grasp such single things considering as you yourself experienced the damage increase is surreal.
Ekun's Longbow becomes literally ~4d6 with Legendary, Hurricane Bow and the already oversized Devourer of Metal. You're literally shooting halberds out of the bow.

But you get access to a +1 Keen Elven Curve Blade immediately in Chapter 2, and that's good enough to carry you through 90% of the game.

Did they fix the loading times?

>planning a build around an item for your first playthrough
Cringe

Also is it updated for the EE? Because they improved on weapon distribution so you won't have any more scarcity for certain types

Loading times ARE fast now user! (They are! They are!)

Yes.

Yes. They are pretty much nonexistent with an SSD

EE update highly improved weapon availability for types that were forgotten before. I've yet to reach Old Sycamore and already found Gnome Hooked Hammer and Orc Double Axe +1 just from Thorn Ford and nuSpider Caves.
Yes, they actually made the Spider Caves with a new layout. The entire history of the place is pretty funny.
First the shitters got raped by swarms, so they made the npc give you flasks. It wasnt enough and they still got raped, so they made the npc give you more flasks and tell you it's going to be difficult. It still was not enough for shitters not to die so they outright moved the swarms further in the new cave beyond the berries you need to get.

In a way, yes. You can choose to use more RAM for faster loading.

In ToEE weapons don't increase in size, hate how my 2-hander Orc has to one-hand weapons while enlarged, and I don't think there are any colossal sized weapons

Overall performance is way better than it was on release.

Technically, you can get an endgame elven blade after you finish chapter 3, but good luck winning the necessary battle

It's 2-handed. Useless for sword-saint.

Why would you play a single player RPG like this? Looking up fucking loot tables before you have even played the game.

>LE
>not using the power of a lich

Cool, may go back and finish the game this weekend then. Thanks anons

steamcommunity.com/stats/640820/achievements
kingmaker actually has a pretty good play rate compared to the abysmal rates of other games on steam. 57.9% beat chapter 1, which is pretty impressive considering a certain spider cave and how long the game takes in general

>using spell combat with sword saint instead of sky-high damage ceiling with very frequent criticals.
If you just want to cast shocking grasp a few times and hope for the best, play vanilla magus

Devils are LE and they have complex hierarchies

You ARE welcome user! Did YOU romance Valerie!

Attached: Long Valerie.png (702x700, 610K)

>finish the game this weekend
Ok, good luck with that

Sounds awful.

>finish the game this weekend
Haha.

I was pretty far in when I stopped (I think)

I think I've made all the right moves yeah

>kingmaker actually has a pretty good play rate compared to the abysmal rates of other games on steam.

Casuals don't (usually) buy CRPGs like this. It also hasn't been on sale for super cheap yet so you don't get many people who buy it to "play later".

Thank YOU for romancing Valerie user! You ARE a GOOD user!

So I'm about to start Varnhold's lot because I didn't play it when it initially came out. I was told to wait until after chapter 1, so I could load my main save into the DLC. I read something about being able to get the items from the DLC but having to identify them during the playthrough or something, and an npc who can identify leaves halfway through?

Describe your current state.

Because 3.5/Pathfinder has feats which make you use a single weapon type. 3.5 has a huge variety of those, and Pathfinder even more. If you make the wrong choice, you can end up with a single appropriate weapon for the whole game, or not even that.
In Kingmaker it's way worse, as you can't create custom weapons, and there were very few cliche weapons. Longsword was always a safe bet, but here you'd go through most of the game without ever getting an unique one.
At least until recentlt, as he update added a lot more of them.

I've restarted the run like three times this week, never went furhter than troll quest. I can't fucking decide what class to play, they all feel like shit. I completed the game as sorc before Varhold DLC dropped. RIght now I'm thinking about playing druid focused on buffing pets and haul Ekun around for some hot furry action

In what way did my post imply this was my first playthrough?

Also Sword-Saint is ultra autistic focused on one weapon. I don't know how much the EE has added.

The Crafting Feat mod has been updated, user. Hire a Scribe Savant Wizard mercenary, give her the secret hand tool on the second floor of the tavern, teach her literally everything, and make her into your crafting slave.

You can respec now

That does sound good, I'll try it out. If it doesn't work out I guess there's always respec.

It feels wrong.

Like I said, going through hallway fights in dungeons seems like it's going to be terrible, but I think in the future I'll just switch back to RTWP when I come across those sections. Everything else has been much more fun.

Quick save
prebuff
unga bunga
hope rng lets you hit
Quick Load and try again if not

What's the point of the cool class customization if the combat is always like this?

Sorry user I'm a fag

Don't worry LArian is gonna fix this with deterministic dice rolls for BG3

Because it isn't since rng has little to do with anything in the game beyond levels 1-2 unless on Hard/Unfair, even then those modes become very easy after you hit 5 and get Stinking Cloud, regardless, and only easier and easier from there.

Have you tried not playing 3.5/Pathfinder?
Meme reply, but buff stacking (and labyrinthic character creation) have always been what 3.5 and Pathfinder are about

>tfw spent a lot of money buying a cool +4 bastard sword for Valerie then ran into a +5 sword about 2 encounters later

Well, you obviously buff before going into a dungeon, for long-term buffs. I try to not prebuff even if I know there's a fight ahead, and instead buff during combat. It's an intentional handicap that feels more immersive(also more fun to sling buffs inside a big combat rather than outside of one).

Only the hardest most bullshit fights will I prebuff fully.

Attached: paladin.jpg (500x697, 69K)

You're a munchkin who thinks he needs the best weapon in the game at all times, got it. To me it just sounds like a terrible way to play single player games, constantly looking at guides to make sure your character is as strong as possible.

>. I try to not prebuff even if I know there's a fight ahead, and instead buff during combat. It's an intentional handicap that feels more immersive
You are meant to prebuff immersively with the long duration 1 hour or 1 min/level buffs when entering an area. 1 round/level shit is what you cast in combat.
Especially with extend metamagic rods there's no reason why adventurers wouldn't later on prebuff before battles when entering dangerous areas.

3.5, and Pathfinder, are designed on purpose to punish newbies with trap options

Thanks for Valerie holding the line

I just reached Oleg. Should I make a Mercenary tank to replace Valerie? In my previous playthroughs Ive never really liked her, and trying to make her build work is a headache.

What's a good traditional tank build?

Attached: 1548589072150.png (148x128, 29K)

You can just respec her to a better door fighter.

hows the king managment aspect of the game?

Valerie works great as an intimidate tank
Fighter at level 2 with Weapon Focus Bastard
Thug at level 3 with Dazzling Display
Later you can do whatever you want with her, just be sure to get Accomplished Sneak Attacker as well, she now gets +2d6 sneak. Thug makes enemies get feared through Dazzling Display if the check is high enough, and it's often very easy to hit even on higher difficulties
Remember to stack Persuasion on her and she's also your party face for dialogue checks
one level of Monk for Crane Style gives her more saves and AC

Barebones and unexciting

Personaly I enjoy going Thug 3 with her, level 2 gives her Evasion, and she gets high Reflex from tower shield specialist meaning she can tank reflex abilities/spells just fine along with physical hits.
Then Thug 3 gives no save Sickening on hit which is another -2 AB/Saves, besides the further -2 AB/saves from Dazzling Display, meaning enemies now have -4 AB/Saves, perfect for her and your spellcasters.

Im going to play Varnhold DLC as a female half-orc Slayer!

Avenge me...

Attached: Kingmaker 2019-06-13 10-14-52-40.jpg (1920x1080, 330K)

She's also great as a fighter/sorc(/eldritch knight) tank with lots of self-buffs.

Fuck Varn

I don't like multiclassing. Am I fucking myself hard by just hitting 20 in one class for everyone I can?

Nope, Pathfinder is way more viable for pure builds than 3.5

like penis in vagina?

Must have a really shitty DM.

Different user here. You're talking about this build here right? Do you happen to know what attribute point to take at level 4?

Attached: valerie build.png (690x477, 67K)

Absolutely. And hold his hand.

To have a decent chance at Hard mode or better, you need to be min-maxing and strategizing quite a bit. Be looking at your items and consumables and really think about resistances and vulnerabilities.

It's ponos in vagoo, you uncultured swine.

3.5 is like that apparently. It's probably worth reading up on 3.5 and getting to know the rules a bit better before diving into this game.

Why the fuck is there no pure arcane caster companion

Something similar to that.
I like Thug 3 earlier because I play casters and having more debuffs to saves is nice, nevermind the fact sicken is also -2 AB though for a single enemy she's currently attacking.
I never had much experience with Bull Rush but I think it's main use is that it moves enemies away thus proccing aoo's from your alies threatening it.
Dreadful Carnage I find a bit of a waste since Dazzling does the job better.

You lost me.

>Go to verdant chambers as a party assuming it'll give me an option to leave party before going in the place
>doesnt work
>leave
>leave my party back at the capital and come in alone
>literally nothing happens when I enter in alone, no text no enemies etc
The hell?

theres a magnifying glass on the tree the quest tells you about. go talk to it

Can I respec companions without buggy mods in EE?

>piranha strike doesnt work with melee kineticist blast
Is it just bugged considering the kineticist' magic sword counts as a light weapon? The game even suggests that feat.I checked my dmg in character sheet and how it applies during fights but nope.

Yes but only to the point you meet them, you can't respec their ability scores etc
>buggy mods
oh grandma didn't know you lurked here

Is Verdant Chambers the biggest FUCK YOU in rpgs?

That's not House at the Edge of Time

Finding the third key in that teleporting fog was fucking ridiculous, how the fuck are you supposed to figure that out.

2d6 to 4d6 is in average a whole extra 7 damage. It's good but not that impactful.

>be ranged rogue
>stealth away from all the summoned shit and kite them then kill them from across the chasm
Heh, nothing personnel.

nope faggots claiming yes are putin shills

I had a shitty HDD and the loading times are significantly better dude.

Because they expect you to play a chad LE wizard

Remember to prebuff with Guidance & Virtue & Resistance early game, user.
It can make a difference and are all free.

Attached: Kingmaker 2019-06-13 11-27-31-97.jpg (1920x1080, 317K)

oh man, i remember you from the last thread
what's up bro? out of curiosity, do you play any other similar games like this?

i am just wondering what other waifus you might have collected over the years

From what I remember I was in some kind of weird magic area with a lot of flowers and purple, can't recall much more than that

Probably Season of Bloom.

Did they ever fucking fix it so that sorcerers can swap out spells at certain levels?

He has collected waifus in pretty much every cRPG.
Valerieanon actually has played even the older ones like Arcanum, and some lesser known such as Technomancer, Bound by Flame, ATOM

Attached: TheTechnomancer 2019-06-10 12-11-03-19.jpg (1920x1080, 125K)

>the respec mod wasnt buggy
when I redid Harrim's domains I ended up getting a new version of the domain power on every level up filling my action page.

Can some of the more experienced dnd anons help me with a simple sword saint crit build?

I hated and loved Technomancer at the same time. I should pick up BbF someday

>Valerie's AC is only 23
What're you even doing? It should be 28 (9 Fullplate, 4 Tower Shield, 1 Dexterity, 1 Ring of Protection, 3 Defensive Fighting) at the very least, assuming you didn't go for any of the great early-game tanking items.

I wish i didnt drop technomancer, it was pretty good all things considered

No, and sadly it's not a bug.

But Valerie is a traditional tank build. You really can't get more traditional than her. Just level her into the Stalwart Defender PrC and pick all the AC feats.

If Season of Bloom, then ho boy, you're not gonna make it by weekend. You'll finish ch 4 at best.

What the fuck is wrong with these devs?

Praise Erastil for level 3.
Game becomes far more palatable even on Hard now with more HP and most importantly Dazzling Display + level 2 spells.
And all by stealing from dudeweed kobolds

Attached: Kingmaker 2019-06-13 12-06-43-83.jpg (1920x1080, 351K)

based and cute valanon

Greedfall is coming later this year.
Given Spiders has been becoming better and better with every game, I have high hopes for it.
I wonder if Valerieanon will go for heathen pagan wife or pure and proper colonial wife

Attached: greedfall bf.png (1920x1080, 2.49M)

You'll spend a whole day just in Vordekai's Dead Nigger Storage, and the puzzle dungeon before

it does look like a huge step up from technomancer, hope it's not too janky.

Better Valerie build without retarded Monk dips and better level-by-level explanation.

Attached: Valerie - Juggernaut Build.png (1096x2771, 347K)

Based Roahins traditional and sane builds instead of InEffects overengineered builds.

>he doesn't want an Aasimar with all 20's and 7's for attributes

Reminder Lingering Performance is amazing and you should get it for Linzi as fast as possible aka 3.
Reminder it basically triples your bard song/day

Attached: Kingmaker 2019-06-13 12-16-21-92.jpg (1920x1080, 273K)

Waiting for all my mods to be updated for compatibility.

>i am just wondering what other waifus you might have collected over the years
I know the answer to Valerie user. I read this in the general once:

Who are good wives in the following games?
Baldur's Gate 1
Baldur's Gate 2
Planescape Torment
NWN 1
NWN 2
Arcanum
Dragon Age: Origins
Pillars of Eternity
Pillars of eternity: Deadfire
Divinity: Original Sin 2
Jagged Alliance 2

Jaheira! Jaheira! Annah! Aribeth-Mischa-Nathyrra! Elanee-Safiya! Raven! Morrigan! Iovara! Xoti! Lohse! Fox! Give me MORE wife!

Would it be worthwhile to grab a level of something with light armor proficiency as a Sword-Saint, or would losing a level be detrimental?

Good way to build Linzi? Just support and ranged combat feats?

Please do not encourage mental illness

I made her into an Eldritch Knight who sits back with a light crossbow and mostly just casts buffs and debuffs (haste, empower, slow etc).

I've been toying with this idea of having Linzi go Bard 7 to make her song a move action, then going straight Cleric of Shelyn. Her Wisdom is shit, sure, but if you only use her spells for buffs and not offense then her Charisma feeds Channeling really well, and now she becomes an awesome heal battery while buffing in the background.

Ideally, yes.
20 Bard is extremely strong.
Though she suffers a bit ranged wise at first due to all the feats you need to invest like point blank, precise etc though bard gains extra feats which help.

Going other than Bard level stunts her songs which can be sad. The +ab/+damage song for example gives a type of boost that's pretty much not found anywhere else means it stacks with everything not to mention being party wide.
Fascinate is also amazing to CC low Will mobs like pretty much most bruisers in the games such as trolls, owlbears
Lingering Song means she has song/day forever.

You might think it sounds cool thematically but it's plain garbage. Multiclassing into a caster that late means you'll never get any good spells and her channel will be garbage.
Meanwhile a Bard gains Mass Cure Serious Wounds for free at 12 through bard song uses.
Bards already can cast Cure wounds through learned spells/wands/scrolls as well, without UMD.

I just now realized Elven Curved Sword is 2-handed. That doesn't work at all with Sword-Saint due to spell combat.

Thanks. I wish there was like an icy-veins for this game or something.

What the fuck is his Linzi offtank build though? I don't my bard in the frontlines

why does everything have a fuck ton of dex jesus fuck

Because it isn't like that at all. That's 100% you m8.

Makes sense for this game. Halflings already get a +1 AC for their size and they alone get a racial feat for +3 stackable Dodge AC. And since this game gives you a ton of unarmored tanking feats and abilities, she can naked tank as well as fullplated Valerie. Then the Bard buffs like Mirror Image and Displacement just push her to OP levels.

>Because it isn't like that at all.

Attached: 1559801996322.jpg (600x600, 35K)

How are druids, bros? Should I spec them for melee combat or for casting?

So would you recommend following his builds over ineffects? He hasn't updated them in months though. I have my own MC build, I just can't figure out how to properly build companions. Been going back and forth between different builds that I find online.

I mean, it isn't. If you're relying on rng past the chapter 1 grease spam period then the problem is you.

When the fuck am I supposed to get the letter about Varnhold after Troll Trouble? I just finished the Bloom quest as well and still nothing, should I just head there myself?

Roahin's builds are much better than InEffect's, yeah. InEffect just benefits from also having MC builds while Roahin only does companions.

Whatever you do - don't do both at once. Focus on either shapeshifting or being a buffslut for you memedon or PROOOOOOOHH

The rng is on the other side sometimes. Getting natural 20 crited by the undead giants in vordakai's tomb for 150 damage sort of stings.

Best Valerie build? Any other classes worth speccing into for her?

Did he ever do builds for nok-nok and the sisters?

Dazzling Display bot. She's a good fucking tank but she has 0 offensive ability.

Valerie builds usually follow the same thing and that is to get dazzling display, proficiency on bastard swords and level up persuasion to max.

gog.com/forum/pathfinder_kingmaker/companion_builds/page1

Gameplay and adventuring are great. Game was 9/10 until I killed Staglord. But after becoming a baron it's suddenly shit. I just hate that kind of gameplay with notigications and constant stress about shit I have to do. Should have put kingdom management to automatic.

I don't think so. He also never did Jubilost, but in fairness he's one of those one-trick characters like Octavia where you basically don't want to step off the path or you'll make them weaker.

>I should pick up BbF someday
It has its' moments. Pic not related tho.

Attached: 243930_screenshots_2014-05-10_00017.jpg (1920x1080, 476K)

>you basically don't want to step off the path
That reminds me of Tristian. Everywher I look I see people focusing exclusively on leveling Cleric but Rohain goes balls to the wall multiclassing.

Nah, that's the whole selling point of the game. For just a D&D game, it's just okay. But for a D&D game with Kingdom management simulator, it starts rubbing shoulders with the likes of Baldur's Gate.

God bless tits.

Fighter 5/bard 1/dragon disciple

You know you can change game difficulty at any point. If you put kingdom management on auto you can't take back control of it though.

Oh, fuck me, I forgot that was a Roahin build. I knew I picked it up somewhere online but couldn't remember where it was. It's the only thing I use for Tristian anymore and he MVPs all my games.

Valerie can't take Bard levels, she's Lawful aligned. You can be a Dragon Disciple with Eldritch Scion or Sorcerer levels though.

I'm playing Baldur's Gate rn, Viconia is in my team and keeps saying "Male, fetch me something to eat"" every once in a while. Is she talking to me?
My party is Me, Imoen, Minsc, Viconia, Garrick, Edwin if it matters but other characters don't respond

> hope it's not too janky.
kek, just looking at the trailer I can already see the jittering on the full motion capture animations. Still, can't hate Spiders. They do games that barely anyone else has the will to do anymore.

Dumb question but do I need to play with the character that I want to romance? I mean, if I want to develop the romantic storyline do I need to have the character in my party? I want to breed the tiefling sisters but they don't synergize very weill with the party that I like to play.

>Valerie can't take Bard levels, she's Lawful aligned
Wrong setting, bro.

Kingdom management is an integral part of the game though. Being able to shut it off is a nice convenience feature, but that doesn't mean you can't criticize it for how badly it's implemented. And some parts are just awful: Wanna stop these awful events related to the main story line from ruining your kingdom? Man I sure hope you didn`t just lock any of your councillors into 90 day missions you can't abort, because you'll need 2 specific ones right now for 30 days each and 600 BPs to proceed with the main story and save your kindom.

3.5 best edition, DMs just need to learn how to say no to players with OP shit

New to the game and don't want to fall into serious traps

nexusmods.com/pathfinderkingmaker/mods/36

Do you recommend that I install this and set everything to be resolved in just 1 day?

If you want both or just the boring one, then yes, you'll need to bring her along at least sometimes, for camping dialogues.

Post that portrait, lad.

Attached: 1410551246111.png (428x428, 120K)

I'm running Aldori defender (hybrid dps/tank kinda shit but whatever i like it), Valerie tank, Amiri barbarian, linzi bard, tristian cleric and octavia 1 level away from Atrickster

Would replacing octavia for the sisters be a decent idea?

So long as you got CC spells for Linzi, yeah. Can also replace Amiri instead, if you want to have more magic.

It sure would fix any danger of falling into badly designed traps, but it'd also take the whole challenge of deciding what to spend your limited time on out of the game

>Can also replace Amiri instead, if you want to have more magic.
That's what I want to do but then I'm left witt just 2 front liners and 4 ranged. Sounds like a really squishy party. What kind of party composition would you recommend to have the tieflings around?

So a year ago I remember being able to hit space after using a potion or scroll to repeat the action of using it on a character. That no longer works. Is it a mod or something I did? Am I retarded and hallucinated this hotkey?

Amiri falls apart from a stiff breeze anyhow. If you use your CC, you should be fine with just 2 frontliners.
Tieflings bring a LOT of damage and a tiny bit of utility. So long as you have someone in-between them and enemies, they'll be deleting shit throughout any fight. Theoretically speaking, you can use Kalikke in the frontline, as she starts with kinetic blade, but... don't.

Roahin has a weird Linzi tank build. Maybe I should give that one a try.

I really like the character creation but im too retarded to understand the 100 numbers on the screen.
Also. Dont give me 500 spells if the game isnt turn combat based!

>Dont give me 500 spells if the game isnt turn combat based!
The spell list is rather limited, actyaully

I wish I had more spells, I wish I had every fucking spells

but if it's too much for you, keep in the hotbar only what you really use frequently

I want to play the game and actually finish it this time. Which would be nicer?
>Aasimar LG Paladin purifying the two tieflings
>Elf Wizard "trimming the bushes"

>Aasimar LG Paladin purifying the two tieflings
Playing that one and it is hell of a fun. And being a Paladin just fits into your role of baron/king too.

Wizard. You don't really have much in the way of pure casters with your companions.

I wanna pirate this but the constant updates make it a fuckin' pain. Why is this shit 40 dollars.

Attached: m6p2kklnmzd11.png (398x632, 315K)

I get it, but I am not a fan of it. Reminds me of Xcom2 where missions were awesome but managing your ship was tiresome.
I have a stressfull job. I don't mind sitting down with rules of Pathfinder, optimize my team and wreck motherfuckers. But kingdom management just tires me.
This game had suprisingly decent adventure and companions. Dungeons are quite shit with how long and uninspired they are but still - I'd greatly enjoy it as a normal RPG. It really had nothing to be ashamed of even when compared to Infinity engine games (except from dungeons. They ARE garbage).

I really want my meteor swarm.
I hope we get Blackguards or Hellknights at one point.

did they fix the other animal companions and make them less shit?

just get the fitgirl repack

Because it's a game with 100+ hours of content

Everything but the monitor lizard is good

>fan made turn based mod is more fun than deadfire's official turn based mode
How did everything get so fucked up

ok cool thanks

>fitgirl
Just stop, mate.

EE is good enough. I don't think there are many critical bugs left. The last 3 patches didn't really change much besides the AC stacking on enemies but that only happened when loading autosaves.

it's the easier way, if you don't want to, then fucking download the game and updates separately, mate

which version is EE?

The GOG version seems to be getting its updates constantly pirated, unlike the steam CODEX release.

cs.rin.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=81479&sid=8bef22badbdbd6d12099f87d32547dd8&start=1140

>AC stacking on enemies [...] when loading autosaves
Ha ha oh shit this bug again? I remember people fighting pitax guards with 100+ AC because it just kept stacking with every load.

Pathfinder rules are made for turnbased, and Deadfire turnbased is retarded, using a round system despite being built around varying action timers and action economy within that system. If Deadfire used something closer to SRPGs, with a ticker instead of rounds, it might not have sucked.

2.0.0

It's on 2.0.3 now but they're not that critical patches, at least imo. Again, the GOG version has its updates pirated very quickly and it's easy to update the game unlike the codex release.

Good old days

I'll just check on freegoggames

It's pretty disappointing, but I get why. Boning a living corpse is a bit too much trouble for everyone involved.

Attached: Jaethal's opinion on all there is and ever will be.jpg (590x772, 68K)

good thing I started the game only recently, it's always good to wait some time for updates

Attached: 1374796030634.png (444x440, 117K)

It's a good scene site. Every crack, updates, steamfixes, dlc, gets posted there

Does the turn based mod actually work or is it janky?

you should learn to not spoonfeed dumb faggots

Do Jaethal and Harrim become interesting or are they just edgy cunts throughout the whole game?

Both are unironically more sexually attractive than Valerie and Octavia.

Patch after patch and i still get the bug where start menu just wont load. It plays fine the first time, but if i restart the game the menu just wont load, leaving me at the logo screen.

Does anyone have the same?pls help.

>Find super armour thick as fuck with huge buffs
>Good characters only
>Every single bruiser in the game is neutral

Feels bad.

Attached: Bleach.jpg (172x232, 32K)

>Harrim
>edgy

Are you fucking serious with this bait.

Harrim is shit from start to finish.
Jaethal's personal quest is pretty cool.

For me it won't load if I have the game alt tabbed

Harrim isn't edgy, user. You can see what his character arc is gonna be like from the start and it's handled pretty well.
Jaethal stays an edgy cunt throughout the game. And that's the fun part.

did the fix the companions really, really shitty base stats since launch?

You'd need a micropenis to penetrate that

I bought it week ago but didn't play yet.

Is it safe to assume that Cleric, Fighter, Ranger, Wizard and Rouge will make good party? Or I would need to change classes? That was my party in ToEE and it worked great.

I intend to play full custom, fuck companions. And this will be my main character portrait.

Attached: 1558416987775.jpg (1448x2048, 178K)

Works fine for me so far, no bugs.

I thought crossbows were glitched until I realized that different from bows, it takes time to reload it unless it's a repeating crossbow.

So far it's been working surprisingly well. I got up to Oleg's and the only thing I noticed was certain characters sometimes briefly moving between turns when they shouldn't be, like the tiefling in the last fight in the tutorial sequence and that alchemist when the bandits attack oleg's again. I think it might have to do with characters that aren't in your party, but also aren't the enemy, because it's been working perfectly fine for party members and enemies. I'll keep playing in a bit and see how well it plays, but I'm pretty impressed with what I've seen.

Literally nothing wrong with the Companion stats. The problem is entirely player-based.

Get a merc party.
Fuck companions.

I'm familiar with 5e D&D and Warhammer rpgs, how hard is this to get into in comparison?
Is there anything in general I need to know before playing?
Charisma is often nice in D&D vidya due to dialogue options, and so I'm currently doubting between paladin and sorcerer. Are there companions that have either of these classes?

Only harrim has both low point buy and bad stat spread. And he stills works because he is a fucking cleric.

Jaethal is one of the coolest edgy characters I've seen, she's vile but only if it's for her direct benefit instead of being a murderhobo. 9/10 would marry and happily be her tool.

Charisma fuels abilities for these characters either way *you want 16 Paladin, and you want at least 18 and raising it for sorcerer).
And no, no companion covers these along with druid and monk

the game's overrated for one reason:
the world is shit! it's just a collection of many small locations/mini-dungeons
you can say that was the case with Baldur's Gate games and yet it wasn't the case, their locations didn't feel so detached from each other
also the Initiative implementation is fucking retarded

sure

yah bro, love not being able to make prereq for feats which make characters actually fun to play

>feats which make characters actually fun to play
Oh yeah? Which feats and what characters?

>is she talking to me?
She doesn't care who, m*id

Attached: Drow_3E_-_Drow_of_the_Underdark_p11.jpg (250x365, 25K)

Anything better than that and still balanced?

How about using Inquisitor instead of Cleric? What do I lose this way?

Attached: 1558416624271.jpg (3049x3811, 1.03M)

Healing. Inquisitors have very limited casting. Also your total party size is 6 including mc.

I think I know precisely which one [laughs in paladin]

MYFAROG video game, when? Get on it, Owlcat.

Attached: MYFAROG.jpg (1235x1600, 127K)

So I guess I still have one slot left. Fill it with Inquisitor or Paladin? Or somebody else? I mean, do I need more melee or more magic?

Jaethal is 100% edgy, but in a genuine and not a tryhard way. She is pretty entertaining.

Bard or Druid are options. There are some other "exotic" options such as Alchemist and Magus
The party seems balanced, though you'll need the cleric as a side tank, and maybe have the ranger be meelee too

best battlemage build?

What are you even building your ranger and fighter as? Both could be either archers or melee.

With your combo, you have every base covered already, assuming one of them is a bow user. Take a class of your choice, maybe something you haven't tried yet.

Define battlemage.
Primary spellcaster who can also contribute in melee? You can make a str 14 and WIS focused druid or feyspeaker, maybe fighting from reach if possible.

a balanced warrior who can spellcast inside a melee fight, similar to the inquisitor for example

Magus/Scion I guess. The whole gimmick is spell combat not triggering AoOs.

I still have no fucking clue how this game or CRPGs in general actually play because none of the marketing seems to actually show it. Is it turn based? Is it an action game? Is it MMO style autoattack? How does non-combat stuff work? Why is it so hard to find basic information about how a game actually plays?

Real time with Pause combat, Infinity Engine like game.
20 years of legacy. I am sure you can find some info user, do your best.

Are there any moment where the game forces you to go solo? If not I’ll play a sorcerer, but if so I’ll just be a plain fighter

You have to be 18+ to post here

at least on hard someone with several situational abilities you usually would totally never need but the game will gave you the middle finger in that sense sometimes, dealing with a particular type of creature gave me a lot of trouble, you could always use more CC if you don't have anyone with focus on it or just more fucking raw damage, it never fails

3 times.

Yes, one obvious trap moment. Just take a potion of invisibility and GTFO though. The more irritating solo fight is the one in Valerie's quest.

Jaethal is a self-centered hedonist and opportunist that's discovering the allure of higher purposes than satisfying base needs.
Harrim is an angsty, butthurt, contrarian teenager that is discovering that life isn't as simple and clear cut as his narrow viewpoints lead him to believe that it was.

You can do it as sorcerer.
Class choice is irrelevant for those segments

You don't even need to win the Valerie one

>Valerie
I just killed her. She's poorly written.

But I HAVE TO user, just like how I HAD to win the technic league encounter.

Can you even do that?
I thought at most you could tell her to fuck off.

And no, she is a realistic woman. Do not confuse unlikable bitch with poor writing.

Anons I was doing the lost child quest, and I found the kid and reached him diplomatically
Is there a way to end this without sacrificing the rattler?I think a see invisibility spell could help but I dunno much.

Technic league encounter has the tangible benefit of not losing a party member, even temporarily and decent xp/loot.
Valerie's segment changes 3 lines of dialogue.

MAGRIDIUM
TURINOUS

Attached: pf harrim cute.jpg (604x604, 162K)

Glitterdust.

Dude, just take her stuff off and make her facetank some enemies. She's gonna hit that -20hp pretty quick.
Or eve better, beat her to death yourself.

God I hate this mentality.

I just had the rattler reveal the spirit for me

Ah, just getting them to low hp and never resurrecting.

>And no, she is a realistic woman. Do not confuse unlikable bitch with poor writing.
This really. She is too real for me to handle, I want pure waifus in my vidya, you know the kind who went extinct about hundred years ago.

Valerie is a cute BUT Tieflings are BETTER

I didn't try entire game yet, I just have experience with PC d&d games and that's all.

Yes, ranger will be ranged one. Rogue maybe too, cant decide yet (too squishy in ToEE for example).

Fighter will be 2h greatsword user for rp purposes and cleric as shield and either sword or local variation of Morningstar.

Druid is tempting. But do you suggest some another close distance character?

Attached: 1547226574595.jpg (1448x2048, 172K)

All my life, I did what was right, therefore I became righteous. Does that mean whatever I do now becomes right, because I am righteous?

What kind of game is this? Like, is the story/characters important or is it more of a dungeon crawler?

Yes.

A normal RPG with a good deal of both dialogue and combat.

Do NOT make rogue ranged.
It's a waste.
Druid's can also function in melee just fine.

Second best quote after:
>"Knife is for stab, pick is for lock, but what makes a hero? Why, ask Nok-Nok."

kys waifunigger.

Filter to get rid of this tranny:
/^[^>].*[A-Z]{2,} ([A-Z']?[a-zI']+ )+[A-Z]{2,}( (\w+|'))*\!\)?/m

/\((.*\!) ?\1\)/
/^(>>\d{5,10}\n)*.*[A-Z]{2,}.*\!$/

I dont think you understand how certain classes literally cannot use their abilities without their chosen weapon

Who is there?
....Lamashtu?

Holy based, blessed be by The Everlight.

WEAPONS, SPELLS, POISONS

Odd. If i alt-tab in the logo screen and ant-tab back, the game displays the loading bar beneath it again. This time full. But nothing happens, just music playing.

>menu is perfectly clickable despite the screen fading from black, zooming and spinning around
Anyone likes to click on continue as soon as poosible

Yes.

I don't trust it enough so I use this instead.

And that's a good thing.

That's why you want blue-eyed tiefling, not the red-eyed one.

>Dazzling Display now takes a full round to cast
It was good while it lasted, lads.

Kanerah > Kalikke

Hasn't it always been full round?

t. Regongar

Yeah, no.

THIS

No, back on release it was cast pretty much instantly after initiative.
I finished my first run in the end of November and it was still like that then.

I can't decide on a sorcerer bloodline, help!

nah mate

Well, its now then a full round action like it should be.

it's ok, now all she and her sister can think of is my tight halfling pussy

Attached: 1475165983045.jpg (229x231, 44K)

Even back then, after doing a dazzling display, it would take a full round to attack again

Is the game "finished" now?

Shit taste. You dosn't know anything about passion and fire.

Attached: 1386908388996.png (1472x1544, 228K)

Sylvan.
Memedon > other bonuses especially if it's your first time playing, especially on higher difficulties.

>passion and fire.
Pretty poetic way how to say a whore.

Best taste.

Pretty much. As a day one player, the game went from 40% finished to 99% finished.

you even sound like him too

Attached: 5263.jpg (639x979, 154K)

Yes, but it still shakened/feared enemies extremely fast which helped casters as well.
Now you have to wait for initiative and then wait a full round

Too bad I'm not gay and a cuckold like you.

Anything but elemental or infernal.

Abyssal/serpentine are a bit weird.
Undead/Fey/Dragonics have some nice boosts/feats.
Celestial has a few good spells and boost on summons.
Best bloodline is arcane.

You are not convincing anyone, Cuckongar.

hard to trust insta shills like you...

Can one actually mod the dialogue to make it Valeriefag-like?

No, but then I never had stutter in the first place.

Please don't give him any ideas.

maybe i can shitpost enough to get a writer to do a family epilogue for the baron

What!

good melee class for a beginner?

3350p
970
8GB
2.0.2

No stuttering

Available for INT 3 only

>3 Defensive Fighting
most people don't know about defensive fighitng and the fact that if you put 3 points in mobility it gives +3 ac instead of +2 or about grabbing crane style so you can get the -4 penalty to attack to -2 and improve the bonus by +1 again.

Roahin's lack of outflank on melee characters surprises me a bit. He only gives that to Amiri and Eku. I thought this feat was broken and worth it on every melee character. You practicaly see everyone online picking this up (and seize the moment)

>retarded Monk dips
but monk dip for crane style is fucking great tho
>but it's not in-character
and Valerie taking levels in THUG, somehow is?

Even more retarded is the fact that her role in combat is to literally, non-figuratively scream non-stop to intimidate enemies. Cause even tho she's a bitch, she's "pretty" and pretty=charisma, right? And charisma=intimidating, right?
NOTHING ABOUT THIS STUPID BUILD MAKES SENSE LOREWISE FUCK YOU AND FUCK VALERIE

I have a 970 and 8 gigs of ram too i dont know what could be causing the stutter because the first time i played it i had 0 issues with stutter than it just appeared

Theres a difficulty option that weakens crits.

>and Valerie taking levels in THUG, somehow is?
She IS just a loud-mouthed bully.

So what class is everyone playing? I rolled a Druid have been loving it. Druid tends to be one of my favorite RPG classes when they're done right and tabletop games usually do them justice. I was glad to see a wide selection of pets too, most games only give you a few boring options. I had to go with the mastodon because what other games let you have an awesome pet mammoth?

>you can't abort
Tou can abort now

Valerie being a shouty, "get the job done" type of soldier makes sense with her blatant refutation of her past. Her nobility and ethics only seem to pop up when they suit her, and she more than willing to stab some people rather than deal with them.

God imagine being bullied in school by teen Valerie.

>and Valerie taking levels in THUG, somehow is?

Well, it's not as if she's able to appriciate the finer things in life

>and Valerie taking levels in THUG, somehow is?
Monk most certainly isn't as it requires you to have joined and learned in the ways of an Order, however Thug fits her like a glove, she's got a lot of pent up anger about her noble days and being a Thug also breaks her further from the whole prim amd proper shelyn damnsel in distress she was meant to be, furthering her mercenary ways.

I'm halfway? through Varnhold's Lot. Apparently you can get the stuff you find in this DLC in the main campaign? Is it automatically taken off of my characters?

As long as she had long hair

Fighter. Mostly because it require the least micromanagement.

>being slapped around by teen Valerie with long but messy unkempt hair
MUH

Get the latest version, reinstall drivers, stop anti viruses, close every background program. Something must be causing the stutter.

I feel like I have to cheese every hard fight or it’s unbeatable.
Like the stag lord has 10 guys 5 of which are very strong and even with prebuffing/potting etc if you try to beat him you get steamrolled. Maybe it’s because my party is only level 4.
I ended up having to pull my entire party back to the start of his camp then starting the fight with my leapord and letting the owlbear kill him. After like 20 attempts I could find no way to beat him fairly.

Either Sylvan because Smylodon is amazing or Arcane for the biggest DC and useful spell selection.

Wizard(universalist)/cleric(nethys), lvl6. One more level and I will ascend to Mystic Theurginess.
So far I have been spamming Grease, Glitterdust and Bless. It's not like I can do much else. At least Eldritch Arcana mod has magical knack trait so my spellcasting ain't 100% shit.

The owlbear is literally there to be used user, nothing wrong with that, or with pulling away individual enemies and kiting them so you pick them apart instead of fighting the whole group.

I had stutters in the old versions. Check the ram usage, it's probably out of control and the pc is writing like crazy to the paging file.

20 two handed fighter

Max str, rest of the points into con. Get the power attack/cleave line and all weapon focus/crit feats for the weapon of your choice.

Not anymore, they fixed this bug. Just install Bag of Tricks mod and remove dialogue restrictions.

Spider cave? Like the one with berries? That was a non factor.
However the biggest filter in the game so far for me was old sycamore looking for Tartuccio. I kept going into the bottom portion looking for him and couldn’t find him. Not to mention every two fights or so I had to leave the dungeon to camp/heal my party.
Probably took me 10-12 hours in sycamore finding that little fucker

Hey I think I remember playing a demo of that. It was very hard.

Both games are great, but yes, you need to have tolerance to having your anus violated by a sandpaper dildo to deal with the challenge level.

The latter, as it's the Core experience.

Did you beat him without pulling your entire party back? Valerie and Mara would get killed in 1-2 rounds and it’s over from there without my frontline.

Sneaked around to the ramp and fought from there after clearing the right side.

>Then you have to spend 8 hours to readjust your spells, because you will need every single save-enhancing, spell\fear-resisting buff in game, you will also have to swap every spell that doesn't work against undead for something useful. You'll need all the damage you can get, because this mage fuck has more HP than a legit constitution-based warrior of his level would have.
>Then he will just fuck up half of your team with his first two Wail of the Banshee, because despite 10+ buffs they will roll 1-2-2 on their saves
>Then after N tries he will finally get fucked by a bunch of good crits that will outdo all the healing he gets from Vampiric Shadow Shield, and you will have to spend 8 more hours to get your normal spell-setup back.
Hate this fuck.

He really is the ultimate cunt destroyer. Him and that turbonigger golden golem with a spray of rape and honey that can kill half of your party and covers nearly the whole room.

He gets fucked in the ass by Dispell I believe

Yeah, I used it on him a bunch of times, not sure it contributed to anything, in the end it was all about dem +5 holy weapon crits.

Thankfully by that time the tiefling slut has her kineticist no save no roll rape blasts

Can I sex her and have Rag fuck off? Or is it threesome only relationship?

You can. But then he dies in the end.

They give neat bonuses if you have something who can cook, I don't see any reason to get rid of them.

Hard mode is fun!

Don't worry, by the time you hit level 5 it'll be like you're playing on easy mode.

build her into your night pot and make her eat your royal shit, after all this is the only thing she's good for

I liked PoE's gameplay okay enough but the narrative put me to sleep.
Original Sin was too wacky for my taste and took a nosedive after Cyseal.

How does this compare?

The annoying part is reaching there on permadeath without a pet class for main character.

>But then he dies in the end
Good.

>spend three days on Vordakai's tomb
>when I actually get to him he barely does anything, takes a bunch of AoO and dies
huh

Kingmaker has much better story and gameplay than PoE.

Vordekai himself is a pushover. The tomb is much harder

Based and Rangerpilled

Well, he awakened prematurely and weakened, it's actually said that he's missing a lot of his power
But yeah it's pretty much one of the hypest battles in the game, he should start at least prebuffed with a lot of defensive shit akin to BG2 mages.
Mage battles in Kingmaker are very easy due to this, they don't start prebuffed and just get bumrushed in the first round.

Is the game just automatically updated with the EE or do i have to add it to steam or something?

I wasn't even buffed, I think I only had some fire and maybe evil protection, my spell pool was almost completely spent and I only fought him so I could properly assess the threat, prepare the apropriate spells and rest.
Then Valerie, Amiri and Ekun just fucked him up in a round or two.

Thought on build? Eldritch Scion with Infernal Bloodline cancels out the penalty to charisma, so +2 int and dex for free.

need a cuter portrait

>on permadeath
I wouldn't ever play ironman in this game, too many bugs.

Which is why I do it by myself and don't check the actual permadeath option, bugs.

It's a patch

When's the last patch coming out, I don't want to be a beta tester

Automatically.

Maybe I should give it a try
might actually compel me to finish the tutorial at some point

I can't seem to make my Inquisitor work, and all the builds online are for min-maxing summoner ones.

I just want to smite fools in duelist garb, G*d dammit.

Based.

The real debate now
Hypnotism vs Sleep

What the fuck is an undead bloodline

Inquisitor 16, vivisectionist 4
max str, grab a glaive or other reach weapon, and stand behind your main tank, stabbing dudes with power attack

>shitling
neck yourself, my man

I've noticed undead aren't immune to sneak attacks, are they immune to crits? What about constructs? And is there a crit-centered class like Weapon Master?

What's a good class in this game that fits in with the story and companions well? Never played pathfinder before. What is druid like and how does it play?

There's no Druid or Paladin companion.

Should I try this again after bouncing off once, just after finishing the quest with monsters exploding out of people, and after 2-3 attempts where I didn't even make it to claiming the barony, or start a game of Arcanum instead?

what?
lolno

Druid could be good then. I remember Jaheria in BG1 being a druid are they much the same in Pathfinder?

Similar enough
Just remember that unlike BG2 where changing shape replaces your stats, in pathfinder it's just a buff to stats, so if you want to go melee with in animal form, you gotta have good str.

They are a lot better in PF than in BG.
Your animal companion alone is absurdly overpowered if you pick good ones like Memedon, Bropard

Absolutely yes, PoE is a boring disgrace while Kingmaker is on par with Baldur's Gate.

Josh, how's your bike?

How hard are the speech checks in this game? How much should I keep in CHA, and are classes like the Bard worth it if I want to Planescape my way through as much as possible?

I chose leapord. Did I fuck up

Tieflings are cute!

I like Kingmaker's underlying RPG mechanics and artstyle way more, but it's not even close to PoE or Deadfire in core storyline, world building or companions. The best companions in Kingmaker like Harrim and the succ twins are about on par with some of the worst in PoE like Devil of Caroc or Maneha.

The worst thing about PoE is the generic ass setting in the first one, but Deadfire more than makes up for it and Pathfinder's Forgotten Realms knockoff setting is way more generic than even PoE.

Did they fix all the bugs?
I sort of quit a while ago and I'm reluctant to restart because I know I have to pirate a million patches and I don't know where to start.

impressive

True Neutral Druid is the absolute best way to play.
>Full level Smilodon to carry you
>Neutral is the best at negotiation
>Get a glorious tree as the hub of your town
>Get to turn into a smilodon, still a pretty decent melee until then too
>No companions fill your niche
>Defender of the True World is a straight upgrade focused on hard countering the most prevalent foe
No downsides.

Because it is a legitimately good game with 200 hour of content.
40 bucks is nothing and it goes on sale to 30 occasionally. Stop being a nigger thief and actually support good devs.

Leopard was the second one he listed

I only just beat the stag lord so I’m early in the game but my leopard dies if anything looks at it. Doesn’t it get stronger late game?

Do you actually buff the pet?

>companions
We can agree to disagree on the rest, but that's just pure bullshit. PoE's companions felt like an after-thought at best and Deadfire's were offensively bad, aside from the furry midget.

Hey, so I just went to the town square and Kanerah was there. We went to her home and then there was kissing. Is this part of the romance for both sisters?

Yes

I normally cast bless, then put Barkskin on valerie. Spending buffs on the pet and not my frontline fighters seems like a waste.

Durance and Zahua were great

Any tips for someone that wants to make a druid spellcaster? Is Feyspeaker or Sylvan sorcerer better since htye use CHA and I have no interest in shapeshifting?

I mostly agree. I think it's a real shame as good companions can REALLY elevate a game like this.I thought all of Pathfinder's were pretty good. Everyone seems to have different favourites.

>Buffing my pet is a waste
>My pet keeps dying for some reason
Hmm

Considering your pet also benefits from any kind ofdefensive spell (plus mage armor since he does not wear) anything, you send a frontliner to go in naked and wonder why he dies.

Attached: okbodestoryedofworlds.png (1920x1080, 3.18M)

lol
the pet is far stronger than valerie dude
here's what you do
>mage armor on pet
>barkskin on pet
>pet now has higher AC than valeir and her full plate+tower shield
>also deals more damage, and has more attacks per round, and is more accurate
Also, if you got the pet from levelling up (cause you're a ranger or something that doesn't get a pet at level 1) you need to grab a feat to buff the pet to your level.

You need to buff the pet.
Mage Armor alone is +4 for 1 hour of real time and there's a wand with 50 charges for sale at Oleg's.
Barkskin also lasts forever and is another +2 at level 3.
Pets can literally replace your frontline as a tank due to how much AC they get when buffed

Feyspeaker for extended spell list and CHA, Druid for spontaneous call nature's ally and drowning them in summons

I really liked all of the companions, how can you hate grizzled cowboy Eder? I like how even character that at first seem like lore dumps like Durance or Pallegina have a twist, and how they interjected way more in quest-lines and had more inter-party banter than Pathfinder's, but I guess it just comes down to individual sensibilities.

if we're talking pure powergaming perspective, sylvan sorcerer is just better then a druid.
Otherwise, feyspeaker is the best druid subclass cause there are a TON of fey enemies in the game.

Pallegina is atrocious.
In the first game especially. They try to present her as a badass and a gateway to a foreign culture and power, but all you get is her thinking she knows better about a trade deal without giving you much context and whinning to a literal god 'ABLOOBLOOBLOO, WHY A GODLIKE'.

Not even touching the abortion of her personal quest in deadfire

Never said I was good. But my party is only level 4 and I don’t really have many buffs to give.
The cleric has 1 charge of bless and some fear/will buffs.
The bard girl has her inspire courage/competence.
Amiri/Valerie have no buffs to give others.
And my mc is a Druid and all I have is Barkskin. I felt like putting Barkskin on Valerie so that her ac is around 33 makes her last a long time whereas Barkskin on my leopard would only put his ac at 16? Not sure it just didn’t seem like it would make a difference. I mostly send my leopard at rangers/spellcasters since he’s so fast

Defender of the true world gets the bonuses against the Fey

Then prepare more charges for bless and barkskin, you stupid idiot.

Mage Armor alone makes a huge difference, get the wand for 750 gold.
Remember to always Charge with Leopard, especially as you spot the enemy before the battle truly begins and dice is rolled.
Leopard gets Pounce at level 4 meaning it can Charge and immediately attack 2 times more.

Oh, sorry, that one is the best druid, I got confused.
Defender of the true word is just the best druid for the campaign, he loses nothing important and gets massive bonuses against some of the most common enemies.

Thanks for the tips, I’ll try buffing my pet more. I still don’t quite get how a leopard even with Barkskin and Mae armor (which is +6 ac?) gets it tankier than Valerie who is around 33 with buffs currently. Maybe I just need more levels to make my leopard stronger

She doesn't seem badass to me, I just like how she doesn't kowtow the ground murderhobo MC touches like most party members, and her intense nationalism and getting her paladin powers from profit margins and trade agreements is pretty interesting, I guess it can come out as whiny, but I do like her spurning a pretty benevolent god threatening her independence like Valerie does in Pathfinder. But if you don't like her, you don't like her, whatever. She's easily the worst of the returning three in Deadfire.

He also gets buff from cat grace (+2 to AC) while Val need quiet some training to get more dex bonuses, and his stats will rise much faster

The pet should have naturally high AC, already tho
Either way, the thing about the pet, is that all AC buffs stack on it

I loved Durance, but even he suffered from the same issue that ruined all of PoE's companions. You don't interact with them enough outside of their personal quests. Yes, Durance might throw a snide remark your way in a dialogue, but that's it - it never leads anywhere, 9 times out of 10 no one will even acknowledge that he just told someone to go fuck themselves.

>how they interjected way more in quest-lines than Pathfinder's
That's not even remotely true. PFKM's companions will actively argue with your decisions and derail dialogues, in situations entirely unrelated to their own questlines, while PoE's just spit out a line and go back to sulking quietly.

>Fucking Tristian not letting you feed kobolds to the warf

I adore it.

Attached: literally fuming.jpg (990x265, 94K)

>Go through Vordekai questline not revealing your name even once
>Make it inside, another encounter where birb tries to get your name out of you
>Refuse to give him one
>Suddenly Linzi
>"ALLOW ME TO RECOUNT THE NAMES OF ALL OF MY COMPANIONS FOR YOU"

Attached: 1553908561774.jpg (1920x1080, 171K)

It's because they level with you, and eventually start getting a lot of physical attribute boosts + stacking natural ac bonus.
Add to that all the buffs you can give: Shield, Mage Armor, Barskin, Shield of Faith & Cat's Grace and they achieve absurd AC.
