That's the thing with nintendo and their games for decades - they release a game, like Super Mario World or Mario kart and other companies acquire the license for devkit and source code for ninny's games. That's why many games are directly comparable to nintendo games, like Mario Kart and Street Racer, or why there's always hundred games similiar to mario platformers
