I got a 2DS last year but hardly played it, what games would you recommend? I have a few.

Lower budgets yield less fluff in games, I guess. You can't sell graphics as well, so you have to focus on making the game enjoyable.

OG 2DS is fucking shit. It feels like a cheap, plastic, chinese toy.
The buttons are horrible and D-Pad is one of the worst I've ever used. Games were great and all, but it was a terrible experience.

I don't count the switch as a true handheld. I use it docked 99% of the time.
The 3DS never really clicked for me. Too weak for proper 3D games, yet most developers tried anyway.
They could make gorgeous 2D games, but no.
At least the DS had a shitload of great 2D games.

Same reason games of the 4th and 5th generations are widely considered the best ever made. Technical restrictions force artistic focus, since not every stupid idea can make it into games. Too bad pure handhelds are dying. DS and 3DS might be the last of them aside from niche competitors that will never garner much 3rd party support.

We had a similar experience with the 3DS. Still looking for reasons to play mine, though. The grip that I order should cover my discomfort problem, at least.
