Yeah, I was trying to just make sure everyone switched departments when he raised his lamp, but I forgot one custom agent I had left in an elevator with a white weapon to attack from behind (he had turned around and was raising his lamp at my Blue Star agent). Even so though, she couldn't actually hit him much because he walks JUST fast enough to avoid her attack while she's priming Sound of a Star's effect. He's too beefy, dude should lay off the clerks once in a while and go on a diet.

I do, it's why it takes so long to get any damage on him. He's not really amazingly threatening, it's just that every time he moves it necessitates a full on evacuation (sometimes with multiple pauses so they don't run through his room) of any non-attacking agents, and I keep fucking it up like a clerk because I'm too focused on this slow ass fucking mcnugget trying to behead my whole department.

I'm trying, I just need to keep farming up gear so I can handle the Dusk ordeal, I have all the shields except for a Pale one which I assume doesn't exist because it's the "special" damage type. I don't think two EX in all stats agents with ALEPH gear and loads of gifts can handle a whole dusk ordeal if I can't even finish a Noon before the tablets trigger a Qliphoth counter decrease.

your average gear either is really, really shit or you're doing something wrong if it's taking you so long to take down the obelisks.
it also heavily depends on which dusk you get, you could probably clear amber with your current setup.
anyway, keep powering through, too many restarts trivialize the game way too much in my opinion

My Mimicry unit and Sound of a Star unit take down the tablets in less than 10 seconds each, but my other employees don't have that luck. The employee wielding the Crier set also instantly annihilates the obelisk in her department and the one with Lamp does reasonably well, but in central the V unit with Laetitia's set can't crush the one there in time.

Hence why the WAW level Lamp set isn't doing as much damage. Nameless Fetus's crier weapon also fires incredibly rapidly, while Lamp is very slow.

I'd have gone with Snow Queen, but that's not a catch-all piece of advice. She's got good white armor, and a great gift that's a guaranteed drop for two employees, barring glitches. Also she doesn't breach, and doesn't care about meltdowns.
DC has decent armor and weapons, but is a pain to contain once it breaches.
Usually WAW is better, but Snow Queen is a great abnormality.

It's better to gets WAW whenever possible, barring some pieces of trash. Their gear is flat out better, and the more options you have when you need to suppress them later is nice. Plus Dreaming Current is a super chill abno, pretty much impossible to breach unless you send in absolute weaklings, and he gives a ton of gear (it will probably get phased out late-game because it's not as good as other WAW armors/weapons but simply having it is amazing)

It's very important to note that the risk level of equipment actually matters when it comes to dealing/taking damage. If you have HE and WAW gear with similar resistance numbers it's always better to pick the WAW.
