RE2 remake went from having unplayable graphical glitches to looking correct.

Intel's current lineup is shit, even ignoring security issues.
People always focus on the maximum framerate or the average framerate but then completely ignore the lows.
I'd much rather average 5fps lower if it meant less dips that appear as stutter in game, something Intel has been suffering from for a long time.

Witcher 3 worked flawlessly at Medium settings, then a combo of High-Ultra would chug the fps down to around 45~50 but it was still perfectly playable.

Well it depends. When I'm playing competitive multiplayer games I turn all settings down to maximize fps anyway so it doesn't really matter. And in single player games I tend to prioritize graphics over fps as long as I can hit a solid 60. And for that the 2500k has been fine so far.
Yeah I do intend to upgrade but I'm not in a hurry. I'm just going to keep pushing this one at 4,5ghz until it gives out. I do play a lot of AAA games and haven't really noticed too many problems so I'm fine for now. Besides when I do decide to upgrade my CPU I'll also need a new mobo and ram sticks so don't really want to rush into it.

You should be able to run Hearthstone without dipping under 25 fps if you turn off the particle effects

there's definitely some overclock headroom there seeing how it's only 1.2v, i'd be surprised if you couldn't hit 2800hz (again it's risk-free, do some research)

As for the GPU, turn down everything except the textures to medium with potentially adjusting post-processing aswell, and even a 580 can do 4K/60. This is literally what consoles do as well: Tweaking settings until it runs. Low-level APIs can help with the garbage CPU, but that's it. There is no special optimization magic around them, the Xbox even literally uses Direct X 12, running a glorified version of Windows 10 as well. You can do the very same tweaking on any PC, it just sometimes requires more than using simple presets to get the most visual fidelity out of your hardware.

Will a console still be cheaper from the bulk hardware pricing? Perhaps, but it's not the two to three times difference you're boasting about. Stop being retarded.
