It seems this is a product of dubbing already shit anime writing & not the Japanese language itself.

Asura's wrath wouldn't be half of the experience without the great voice acting. Nier also probably wouldn't be nearly as good without its stellar voice acting.

The script is actually slanted to support the Jap VAs so the English VAs have trouble deciphering it.

Persona 5's dub was unironically so bad they had to delay the entire localization and give out Japanese audio for free as an apology.
They tried to improve it, but it's still a poor dub.
