I feel like this is something that a negative groundswell/petitions could actually change.
They have more time now, so at least an option in a post-release patch?

Oh, how I love winter.

im kinda confused by the backlash against the graphics
i think it actually looks really nice. i fucking hated the soulless graphical styles of city folk and new leaf so it's really refreshing to see a more relaxed and minimal direction. it just fits the mood of the series.
also, as much as we shit on rolling log, it really isnt that bad when you think about it. acre system is much clunkier and it would look bad seamless because you cant see shit. and a shoulder/back perspective would make memorizing the layout of the town much more annoying and would probably need some gross minimap on the screen for some players rather than just keeping the screen empty during actions like the series has always done. empty ui is essential to the tranquil mood.
id love to see an alternative if someone could introduce a good one, but i havent seen a single one that would make sense in animal crossing

That screenshot is gorgeous.

It's the kind of thing that people will immediately get used to, probably before the game even comes out.
I like the look too.

Mechanics like log world are a different story.

I dont even know what you are pointing out... ia this a meme

new leaf wasn't soulless

That's a snowball you idiot.

I just hate how small and flat the island looks but that's my only gripe. I wish we got some verticality

So far there's not one single that's a dealbreaker for me, but i'm irked by a dozen tiny things and this is one of them. I like nestling my house against the cliffs, but their low height, the small size of the island, and rolling log all give off an atmosphere that feels very exposed and uncomfy

>log
>shit
Don't you dare summon that evil here

From the map it looks like the northern barrier of the island is high cliffs

World in some Animal Crossing games is basically surface on top of tube, causing it to look like ground is rolling when you move up or down the map. It's not a ball because rolling does not happen when you move left or right.
The whole thing is kinda hard to explain, but makes perfect sense when you see it in action.

>only small patches of grass pattern
>the rest is just plain-ass flat green texture
>commoditizing everything for crafting, adding even more tedium to the daily grind
It's shit.

I unironically don't get the complaints about the looks. It's comfy as fuck

Fags haven't touched new leaf in ages.

Spoiler for them: It looks like total jaggy ass. This game looks beautiful.

Ohhhh yeah. Thanks yeah i know what you mean. People dont like the rolling log look? I thought that was a classic animal crossin thing?

AC nostalgiafags are the most obnoxious fucking nostalgiafags on Yea Forums.

Dude please go outside(this means go to Youtube).
The absoluty majority of comments are positive.
Every video has an approvel rate of 98% or above.
The only people shitting on the game are Yea Forumsirgins who wanted another Gamecube game.

There's nothing wrong with the rolling log

t.lumberjack

Someone post it

That's the least of its problems.

Looks cute. Reminds me of the Gamecube version.
