The gameplay was good in DA2. It was the story and lack of armor sets that I didn't really like, still overall a good RPG. Too many people jumped on the hate bandwagon before the game was even out and missed a good RPG.

I liked DA2 combat. It's like MMO combat but you can switch between party members. Not the greatest game ever but it's unique in its combat system.

While I wouldn't say it was made for that demographic, the fandom is actually one of the few in gaming that has a higher female to male ratio (outside of the obvious ones like mobile games or Animal Crossing, that is).
It's probably why Bioware, realizing that, changed the direction of both DA2 and DAI from what was established in DAO (more casual, more cinematic, emphasis on romance/character interactions, more high fantasy).
They made half of ferelden black in DAI and introduced several black characters. Pissed me the fuck off. DA2 was better.

DA:O is one of the best RPGs ever released. DAII was pretty good but you could tell where things were going, and DA:I did stupid shit like making the Qunari, the most hilariously conservative and traditional group I've ever seen in vidya where they will literally mind wipe you if you dislike the job you're given, are cool with people turning out to be trans and even have a word for it. Orlais or something I could buy, but the Quinari? Really? Or the fact that Krem is a character for like 20 hours and then suddenly you get a 10 minute scene dedicated to their being trans, after they were already in the game for so long. So many shitty choices

ME did well and had the same problem of not even being able to walk around feel right.

This. Origins is a zoomers idea of an old school RPG. Real fans of the Infinity Engine games were disappointed in Dragon Age: Origins. Even Pillars of Eternity is closer to a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate than DA:O is.

I got suspended from my uni for calling someone a nigger. Dragon age inquistion is one my favourite games. Played the other 2 after also loved them. I will admit the games have a lot of SJW shit rolled into them but it personally never bothered me.
