I was talking about the actual industry. flash game scene did have zero impact on the actual popularity of licenced videogames. Sure people played them alot in schools or at home, but these games were made by independent people for no other gaining purpose but fun. Licenced video games began to become a business for the sole reason of money making, which meant for publisher to blindly dish out games in risk of losing quality.
