i don't agree. what actually looked hideous was all the effects on octopath traveller's graphics and people actually praised it. i'm glad gungho kept it simple and didn't pile all that shit on.

I was kinda worried about how some of the pre-rendered magic effects in G2 would look over all the upscaled realtime stuff, but the one Burnstrike spell used near the end of the video seems ok. I was worried about a huge disparity in visual quality, but I'd like to see a bit more.

They should've fixed the UI, it's pretty bad. Aside from that it looks alright, old sprites look like ass without scanlines anyways.
