When Shenmue was put up, it now falls under scrutiny for not being able to fulfill the agreement people "donated" their money to after the kickstarter ended, which was, "available for Steam." Shenmue was a great game. It was extremely immersive and atmospheric at the time. I agree that this game is far passed its prime though.

Become a smarter judge and invest in projects that matter to you and are being treated with professionalism, and get involved with the backer feedback loop and community like you're supposed to be doing. These issues don't happen as often then. The pros outweigh the cons.
