They're very much aware of Corrin's reception. As much as people shitpost about it, none of the DLC picks are shill picks, even Joker and Luminary are the protags of the most popular titles in the series (especially in the case of The Hero getting his 4 most popular incarnations (well, Solo over V's hero but still)).

I don't think any of the DLC characters will be outright marketing, at least from the first pass. You can't build it up more and more to Banjo heights then plummet to Edelgard levels.

The only reason she makes sense to me is because she's part of a new game, which I know won't be all that new once DLC4 hits, and is an Axe user instead of another sword user, which is the most common complaint for FE. I do hope you're right though, user.

I appreciate that the game has fans, but it's just bland. The fact that we got a terrible game like Fates and yet Codename Steam was left to rot is absurd. The same happening to Paper Mario is awful as well

Not at all. Mystery of the Emblem was significantly more popular in Japan. Genealogy itself is a fucking mess of bad ideas that's dogshit compared to Mystery and Thracia.

I think Travis represents a perfect niche, one of those unique games that could only really be on Nintendo. Sure, the games are janky and bizarre, but that's part of what makes them so interesting to play.

Doomguy is my most wanted, followed by Dante, but I'd be okay with Travis. Travisbros are generally chill, not expecting the world like most obnoxious character supporters and are mostly just staying loyal and dedicated to the series. NMH3 looks cool, so I hope it's good.
