While visually it doesn't look the best, game does seem to give you a load of options. Good range of powers, weapons and enemies. Which is really what matters for one of these games. Seems to control exactly like the old games plus some new stuff. I guess crafting could end up tedious, but you can probably just find the same items.

Like I'm not sure what else you really want out of a castlevania, unless the map design some how ends up terrible but I'm not sure how you really manage that.

I've always felt that way about 2.5D/ sidescrollers with 3D asset games. First, graphically they tend to be more visually muttled because lighting is the same on the entire scene so often pieces which are scenery are as bright if not more bright/vibrant than the characters, obscuring movements. Animations can feel weightless due to not having proper keyframes or just too many frames of animation, making the game feel clunky.

Honestly though, after watching the video I want to purchase it, and I was someone who was probably going to pirate it first to see. Unlike the other games pictured in the actual gameplay doesn't look barren or poorly structured. How anyone can defend either of those two games, I will not know. That said, the game appears to be lacking polish and would have benefited from more testing balancing fights. It's difficult to tell for sure, but sometimes the dude playing would be hitting something over and over and over and over before it died, and othertimes he would get to a boss and the boss spent way too much time standing still.
