During the E3 direct, we BLATANTLY saw that the reveals were divided into east and west. DQ for Japan, and Banjo for the west. I think this will apply to the whole DLC.

Banjo is a Microsoft character, and I strongly doubt that the pass would get two characters from the same company. Chief had small chances as is, given this would be his first Nintendo appearance, but I'd say those chances are gone.
I think people have generally forgotten Half-Life at this point outside of "le epic half-life three meemay", whereas Doomguy has been around longer, and has another game coming out this year (on Switch too)

I would agree with that if not for the fact that Chief is the mascot of the Xbox from a series which was what basically made the Xbox a success. Sega, Namco and Capcom all have their mascots. Square, Konami and Atlus all have characters that represent their most prominant series. Atlus having the protagonist said series most successful game.
Banjo being in is fine, but he doesn't represent the Xbox, Chief does. And given the precedent he still has a significant chance of getting in now that Microsoft already as a character in the game.

Capcom seems primed to get another rep, considering they just got Ken (an echo) this time around. That being said, Resident Evil seems like it's have the best shot of all their IPs, I suppose. It's relevant, it's got a lot of games on Nintendo, seems logical. Jill or Leon is what most people have been speculating.
As for the other slot, I'm really up in the air about it. Either they give Microsoft another slot, in which case they may go with Master Chief for max American hype, or Steve. Crash seems like he has a legit shot considering he's popular in Japan, same with Undertale. Sora's pretty unlikely now, but he has been requested numerous times worldwide. Also there's Doomslayer, which I personally think won't happen but it has been talked about

I would not at all be surprised if the Doom Slayer gets in, he actually has a chance. Nintendo have built a working relationship with Bethesda at this point getting their shooters to run on Switch when no one else bothered, I think that's a significant inroad to guest characters.
