By the books JRPGs that are the antithesis of FF, in that instead of reinventing the wheel with each iteration they just continue perfecting what ain't broke.
If you're interested try VIII, its the closest to XI and is a great entry point. I rpefer the PS2 version because the graphics are a lot better, but 3DS has some nice QoL improvements. Alternatively, V has a really great story thats worth checking out on DS.

When Treehouse first started, Nintendo made a BIG deal about it and pushed it HARD. they don't have to try so hard now, but they didn't just quietly start streaming and hope people would show up. Plus, they always use those stupid talk show formats instead of focusing on games and gameplay. Could you imagine if, say, CDPR brought Cyberpunk to a Treehouselike format? DQ8 hero alt-costume.
It's a 3DS version feature that was left out of console versions then brought back for Switch. It's not really all that extensive though, it just takes you to iconic locations to hang out for a little bit and watch some memorable scenes. Just fanservice when it comes down to it.
Console versions didn't get anything to compensate for losing that though.

DQ11 looks so much fun, but why is the soundtrack so horrendous? It's like the only big-name recent JRPG out right now that has terrible music. Persona 5, Xenoblade 2, Ys 8 and so on all have fantastic soundtracks. Even FF15's soundtrack is pretty good. But DQ11's soundtrack is just ass.

Switch version was rebuilt from the ground up because the original engine wasn't compatible so they actually can't back port. They'd have to move all the content over manually, but Square has a piss poor track record with this sort of thing so it's most likely not being added to PC/PS4. Not out of the question but I really wouldn't count on it.
