Terraria or Starbound? which one of these would you recommend?

Terraria is literally getting it's final update soon. Go with that.

stupid question. terraria. next

Terraria is an actually good game with loads of content by devs that aren't completely retarded.
Starbound has a porn mod that I nut to every once and a while because the game is otherwise complete shit.

Is that porn mod good?

lol

Terraria fucking every time.

terraria cut half its content and toned down its character boobies just before release to the point were its hard to tell the women from the men with some of the races
they even got rid of a titty horse because of idiot feedback
not to mention trashed over half the games lore
its still unfinished feeling all this time after release and its tedious and bad

terraria only became better and better after launch with tons of content and is getting another update soon, its not tedious to play either, if you hate mining there are ways around it and you basically never have to mine ores if you dont want to

get terraria

FUCK i MEAN STARBOUND IN THE FIRST PARAGRAPH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

lmao you fucked up

What are these two games like?

It's funny how Terraria came out of nowhere, racked up an insane amount of interest in just a few weeks, had a private beta build leak which forced them to release it early without all planned features and it somehow still managed to be released in a better shape than Starbound. Chucklefish failed on a collossal level.

Terraria is about spelunking, fighting monsters and finding weapons and equipment while also having crafting and building on top of that.
Starbound is similar but way shittier.

terraria by a landslide

please respond

This is not up for discussion. Starbound is shit and Terraria is great.

Thanks but why is it called Starbound then? I though it was a space strategy or something.

Terraria, without a doubt. The amount of shit that Chucklefish has said and done during the absolute shitshow that was Starbound's development and the resulting end product brings me levels of disappointment I didn't know I could feel towards a game. You can have fun with Starbound, sure. There's some things that it has that Terraria doesn't - specifically instruments. I thought those were sick. It's also a bit easier on the eyes, I think there's a lot of things that look better in Starbound than in Terraria. Other than that, it can't even come close to Terraria at all in terms of anything.
Once you've explored the first planet on Starbound, you've seen the entire game. Everything - the planet's terrain, as well as the enemies are all color swaps and mixed pieces from a pool of pre-made parts. The "story" is pretty lackluster and generic, progression is linear and boring, combat sucks, I could go on. Terraria offers a lot more and is actually worth your time.

you know how in minecraft you have different worlds and stuff? Starbound contextualizes this by having you actually fly to different worlds rather then selecting them from a menu on the title screen.

Terraria
pirate starbound

Mostly because the main gimmick is the idea of "space exploration", you pilot a ship and can jump to different planets and star systems. Each planet is "unique" in that the weather conditions and terrain are randomly generated and should pose different threat levels. The problem, however, is that you have 0 reason to actually leave your ship or make a base on a planet, because you can make your ship bigger and build everything in there. Also, the "random generation" is an absolute joke.

Sounds awful.

it bothers me that we STILL don't know why what happened happened.
Just all that stuff gone without an acknowledgment and barely anyone tried to call them out on it.
They could have had pre-release content be to put in the missing stuff like all the stuff that was supposed to be randomly generated like weapons and monsters and then had specific race updates to put in their unique quest lines but nope, post release content support has been fucking trash and uninspired, just more features they wont flesh out like fucking mechs
