Garbage first game, awesome second game

ZoE1 was really impressive when it came out visually and just the fact that it ran a a buttery smooth 60fps when you're coming off the PS1/N64 and everything running at 10-25fps.

I'd hardly call it garbage but it suffers from being such an early PS2 title where everything it did was done better in later entries. Going back to play it now isn't doing it justice you'd first have to play a variety of PS1 games to get yourself back into the mindset and then experience that generational leap ZoE1 was.

Witcher 2 sucks ass and is the worst in the series.

I think one of the big issues was that it didn’t know what it wanted to do
It was revolutionary for bringing fast mecha action to video games, but at the same time, it’s short length and somewhat minimal mechanics made it more like a tech demo that the sequel would vastly improve upon

Street Fighter is the go to for this... the fact that game got a sequel to begin with it's still baffling.

I think it was actually about the perfect length, right when the battle system and sub-weapons got boring it ended. I can imagine being pretty down on it playing to today though without that generational leap context. I had not played a mecha game that fast and fluid before, even a game like omega boost or VF-X2 couldn't hold a candle to it.

ZoE1 is a better Gundam game than actual Gundam games.
