Can any mediocre game be considered a masterpiece with a large enough marketing budget and blind nostalgia?

yes, botw

Pic unrelated, I suck cocks

That final fantasy 7 is indeed boring. I downloaded and played it on an emulator, boring as hell. I'm glad the remake is making the gameplay fun.

Would u suck mine?

I would suck EVERYONE’S cock, for I am OP

Sure, it's true for 99% of the games that are in all those GOAT lists.

Be honest here; you only thought it sucks because the graphics are outdated you dumb zoomer
If the remake was exactly the same as the PS1 version but with 4K backgrounds and high-polygon models, you'd say it was a great game

Jim sterling hates it youtu.be/hBmv9vpoqp0

It going to flop

>HOW DARE YOU SLANDER FF7 LIKE THAT WAAAAAAAAAH

Who?

this. ff7 is one of the only ff`s i couldnt play through.
i propably gonna try it again with the option to turn off random encounters.

>you only thought it sucks because the graphics are outdated you dumb zoomer
not him, but i literally played it on ps1 and had to stop it at mid of disc 2 since it was boring.

No turn based is shit and boomeresque

>turn-based is shit
That's an RPG though
You're probably such a zoomer that you think games like Soulsborne are RPGs

rpgs dont have to be turnbased though, western doesnt turnbase either.
Also there are a lot of Jrpg's that are not turnbased and they are usually more fun to play

The 6th highest rated game of all time?

It's not even turn based

Not FF7. Even if it doesn't hold up today that's partially because it's been copied to death. But it does hold up today, so there's no problem

Breath of the Wild thread?

Can you be considered a person? Same answer I suppose, but not anywhere but private for you.

>Dude what if we made half the playable cast be inconsequential to the story
>Dude what if we made a cast that barely says anything and almost never interacts with each other
>Dude what if we made multiple cutscenes where the main character has no idea what's going on and just stands in the background while people who matter speak
>Dude what if we made a character who's literally just a random girl off the street
>Dude what if we made a villain who has zero emotional connection to the heroes and doesn't even meet them until the last ten minutes
>Dude what if we took Final Fantasy Tactics' setting and made it a poor man's Star Wars
>Dude what if we gave the narrator a comical Apu accent
>Dude what if we made a political plot and then ruined it by turning it into standard ancient god shenanigans
>Dude what if we made a plot where the heroes have almost no impact on what happens until 95% of the way through the story and spend their time traipsing through non-descript caves and ruins
>Dude what if I'm Captain Basch
>Dude what if we took everything 100% seriously and had zero levity
>Dude what if we wrote all of the dialogue to sound like a Renaissance Fair
>Dude what if we we had no overworld and all travel was handled by a menu or floating teleport crystals
>Dude what if we made a battle system where you set everything up in advance so that you don't actually play the game
>Dude what if we made summons useless except for opening doors
>Dude what if instead of fun side quests we had only fetch/kill quests like in some generic MMO
>Dude what if instead of having fun side games like the motorcycle chase and Triple Triad we had nothing
>Dude what if we had really shitty music

>Dorksire the misinterpretive porno backup up and up some more and away

do I get the steam version or switch version of FFVII? I keep hearing about a music bug on the console ports and the ability to rely on mods for bugfixes on PC is enticing but it seems like it'd be a comfy game to play in handheld mode

Dude what if you were attractive socially from an early age?

>magazines jerking off FFVII CGI back in the day when Soul Edge's port was released on the same month and had the GOAT CGI opening

I preferred FF8 and the NO MUSIC bug personally, really got the old head in the game.

Switch has fixed one of two music bugs and the other is less important (there's a song that is replaced by another song at one point). Leave thread before spoilers

Boomer here that bought the game in 1998
Never heard of Soul Edge and neither would you

You may have not heard of Soul Edge but you've absolutely heard of the sequel, Soul Calibur.

YUH it's finna be straight fire on ps4

>zoomer calling a game from 1997 mediocre because they're more used to mobile games
>zoomer calling a game from 1997 mediocre because they can't handle the grind and most likely skips areas over exploring them

Yeah that I did

Yes. Halo would have been completely forgotten if it had been a PC only game, and didn't have the Microsoft money behind it.

>Mediocre

Shit taste confirmed

it's basically a mobile game.

How so?

this. but mostly because it was an introduction into fps games for a lot of people. game was really plain but it let people take that first step so they have super nostalgia over it kinda like ff7 was babbys first jrpg and discovering boners with tifa

but FFVII is available on xb1, switch, pc, and phones...

Yes I will mention 3:
1.breath of the wild
2.smash Bros brawl
3.the witcher 3

Basado

>recognizing FF7's greatness makes you a snoyboy

t.zoomer
Sorry that your generation doesn't have any games that leave a big impression on you. The funny thing is that marketing and conferences were much less a part of the experience back then, none of the games I liked I learned about from commercials or marketing campaigns, they were all random games my friends had sitting around or ones I rented or picked up.

i just noticed something.
now that ff7 became the popular topic, nobody talks about chrono trigger anymore.
atleast people stopped pretending chrono trigger was the best game ever, and the casuals are back to pretending ff7 was good again.

There's a thread about Chrono Trigger up RIGHT NOW.

read the title of the thread, OP didnt even play chronotrigger.

Yeah, but he's still taking about it.

Yes. The game you posted proves it. So does every Pokemon since Gen IV.

Mediocre games don't have perfect soundtracks.

Bait.

lol. fuck FFXII

>half the songs are forgettable
>people only obsess over One Winged Angel
>perfect soundtrack

Literally even bit villains like the Turks have a good theme
