Has there ever been any Brutal Doom-specific WADs? Stuff that actually tries to use the extra content in the game to make something unique and appropriate?

Because you have better weapons and the monsters are given more attack options so that combination of things should warrant unique level designs that cater to it.

Brutal Doom is ok and even still fun to play when the gore novelty wears off but like other weapon mods it feels weird to play on the default doom maps, the game just isn't made for it. The best doom mods are total conversions with their own levels IMO

He made an entire 3 chapter campaign for it called Hell on Earth, and is apparently working on another called Extermination Day. Hell on Earth is actually really good, basically an entirely new game, though you could argue it's not especially "Doom-ish". Feels more like someone ported a Build engine game to the Doom engine.

but the graphics are really bad and dated looking. that's going to be a hard pass for me. will be looking to play Doom Eternal when it releases this November 22 2019.
