combat in mordhau and chivalry are awful compared to mount & blade

It's a downgrade from MB:WB, it doesn't take into account speed which is why thrusts are fucking cancer.

I didn't say I want a complete copy of it. I just think they could borrow some mechanics to make the combat more exciting and not so janky feeling.

the simplicity of the omnidirectional attack and block system is a beautiful, deep system that don't need no additional quirky effects
rest assured bannerlord combat already looks a lot more smooth than warband, it's fine
