No. As per Square Enix licensing, you'll get the MIDI versions of the Dragon Quest main theme and DQXI's battle theme, and that's that.

Only two of them have female versions. They might have wanted every model to have an alt color.
It's worth noting that Tansut claimed the DQ character would have a female option. He was either bullshitting or there was a change of plans. The original options could've been Erdrick and Solo with their female versions. Luminary was made the default to promote XIS and Eight was added to appeal to Westerners.

Toriyama has stated he designed the Super 17 variation of the character based on the Luminary's design. So yeah, it's intentional.

He is not the legendary hero like all the other protagonists but his equipment is unique and stronger than the one from the legendary hero in the game. That his iconic weapon is the staff and not the sword is also the only reason why DQ5 isn't playable since he is by far the most popular DQ protagonist.
