That's because most of it is throwaway locations that nobody remembers.

The gameplay change will benefit FF8 more than 7, because 8 easily has the worst combat out of all the games. GFs and drawing are retarded and unnecessary bloat to a system that was already perfect and well tunned. I can only hope they'll turn both into something actually fun to use.

FF8 is just an intersting game; I want to see what they'd do with it. Would they play up the war aspects? Or the school aspects? Would Squall's introspection survive or be downplayed to address decades of unfounded critique?

Well, it looks like they made a technical achievement of a late-generation PSX game into a very unimpressive early-gen PS2 game.
