The polishing is the actual problem, they got to a point, the point where they can start asking for money and say they need more funding in order to turn this into a "proper game", but they won't ever leave this stage of production because they can't, they can't polish what they have without actually learning how to code for UDK instead of copy pasting lines from the internet and importing ripped assets from other products. Instead they'll just keep selling this premium access via patreon and have overpriced cosmetics ($20-30 usd for a single outfit last time I checked) claiming they can't become better without cash flow.

In a sense it's true, but they been prolonging the release so long, and with such little progress, that it's hard not to be suspicious and I can see them disappearing overnight just to make another similar project to half ass it and ask money to fund it.
