The last "big" reveal I could think of.

There's still some decently big names out there that could be added; Crash, Doomguy to give some examples. But none that really reach that memetic reputation like Ridley, Mewtwo, K.rool, and Banjo.

My final thoughts on the matter are that Tifa's new look was disappointing and needs an overhaul.

I legit respect DoomSlayer as a gaming icon/legend, but I really believe he'd be a fucking blast if he could pull off some brutal shit in mortal kombat

These turn of events in fall are gonna be fucking insane, and we only have two more characters to go. How the fuck are they gonna outdo Dragon Quest in Japan, and Banjo as a whole?

It's not really known what happened. the fact is that melee had a couple of items from Perfect Dark but they were only credited as such in the Japanese release. the last Rare game on a nintendo home console (they were allowed to develop for portable consoles after being bought by microsoft) was Starfox Adventures which released the day before they became part of microsoft. that was almost a year after melee came out. surely all that means they could have got the rights to banjo in melee somehow, but Sakurai said in an interview that there were difficulties of some sort including Banjo and James Bond. people have taken it to mean copyright reasons but there could be more reasons we don't really know about.

They'll probably choose two more characters like Joker with relatively broad appeal but few smash fans requesting them

I never played any of the Banjo games but i'm a massive DKC fan and K. Rool was my most wanted for years.
I always held out hope for Banjobros as I felt they were the only characters left that truly deserved a spot in Smash, and watching the trailer made me nearly as ecstatic as when I saw the K. Rool trailer. The whole trailer just being Rare fanservice made me feel all warm inside.
I think maybe it's finally time to play through the Banjo games; do they emulate well at all?

The only characters I can see having some broad appeal are Tetris and maybe Tracer. I think Tetris is definitely a shoein given the lack of content in the base game.

I am mad! but not for the ovuis reasons, Beteen his trailer and Battletoads reboot you can really see who still gives a damn about Rare.

There isn't a good character from Tetris you dummy. there are no characters in Tetris!

Nigger, a tetris block by itself could work as a character. Game and watch, Piranha plant prove that.

I didn't personally want him cause I thought he'd be another brawler.

That said, I'm happy for the Banjo fans. And they did clearly put a LOT of love into his animations to make him very lively and stand out, so that makes him a bit more appealing to me.

I didn't want Plant either but I fucking love him now so I'll still look forward to trying him.
