Dragon Emperor is the coolest. When he's on the losing side, it's also extremly unsatisfying, especially if Duran's in your party. He doesn't get a chance at redeeming himself and no resoltion.
Riesz's problems, on the other hand, simply vanish. "Dark Prince is dead, your brother is alive, well and now free". Dunno about the others, can't remember.

There was romhack that actually fixed critical hits and evasion but it becomes abundantly clear at later stages that the devs didn't really balance the game around them. High level encounters become even more rocket taggy with however landing the first crit basically one shotting the other.

When I played this and wasn't even able to read any of the text I remember having one guy that buffed all my party, one that debuffed all my enemies, and the Paladin. Once I got everyone to their final class and got the global buffs/debuffs the game became extremely easy.
Also since everyone had long hair in their portrait I thought all 6 were girls .

I'm excited for the SD3 remake but hearing the ending screen music always invokes some lingering feeling of sadness.

If I were to get the remake I would for sure since the Internet basically destroys a lot of the social requirements towards getting it started I have to admit though it wouldn't come off as very balanced if it were realized for today though. Either one person with a severely over/underleveled character would be joining a leve mismatched portion of the game or people would be joining games that are way ahead or behind where they are in the story

It's a good team. Kevin sacrifices some of the versatility of Hawkeye for year raw damage. Riesz can buff or debuff depending on class and Carlie is your white mage.

Anyone hoping they expand a little on extra interactions and stuff like that? I'd love to see more party interactions, or maybe little events that add more banter to the story.

I'm also hoping they make the character models change based off the class you picked, that would be the fucking shit.

Yeah. Kevin is forced to go Dark, unless you want two healers, but because he has the best DPS Lise buffs/debuffs will always go well with him. Charlotte getting Sabers is also nice to hit bosses weakness if you go Light.Going Dark in the long run benefits for some okay summons and Black Curse which is great if you don't go dark with Lise.

That's one of the stronger teams. Kevin is the best character overall. Lise makes things easy with buffs/debuffs. Charlotte is the best healer and does well against all the undead on Kevin/Charlotte's story.

Angela is the actual best girl but let's be honest, it's Lise's game. Angela could be removed from the game and Japan wouldn't give a fuck, but the argument that was used to get this remake could have very well been "3D Lise."

You need a tank so you pick Either Duran or Lise. A full dps either Kevin or Angela. Grab Carlie for healing or be ballsy and pick another damage character like ranger hawk. Imo Carlie makes the game too easy.

He has the second highest potential STR stat in the game (Only beat by 1 point by Durans Duelist Class)

On top of which he attacks twice much like Hawk does so his attack power is essentially doubled and he builds his tech meter faster

And he gets the ability to turn into a werewolf at night which legit DOUBLES his already insane damage output and has no drawbacks

Magic is fucked in this game. Night Kevin can do more damage than your magic characters will ever do because they have to worry about spell cancels and he doesn't. It's a joke.

I like the leveling system where you simply just level faster and the stats are more useful, the MP system is way more fun with it regenerating slowly during combat and completely refills after every fight, and also the equipment progression being about different effects and builds rather than just straight upgrades one after another, but there are some heavy misses. For example, the difficulty is retardedly high, SD3 was a fairly easy game but I never felt like higher difficulty would make it better, luckily you can put the "easy" patch to play on vanilla difficulty. Another hit or miss, depending on who you ask, is that characters learn different skills and that might fuck up your plans, also how nerfed physical combat is. Also the author is a fucking retard for making some bosses into puzzles or gimnicks which aren't fun

Kevin can solo everything, and the other characters aren't total slouches compared to him. The game isn't really a challenge if you're older than 13, it just takes longer to do things if you go full girl squad.
