There is a mod group that used machine learning to upscale FF7's assets, including the CG backgrounds, into 4K. Last I heard they were going to do the same for FF8. If squenix doesn't do the same then this game is just a blatant cash grab.

I think it would work better if all characters drew 10 at all times, and 90% of the stat boost from junctioning should be achived at 50 stock. 90-10 stock would give you the last bit of stat boost to give you a little 10% extra, but not enough that it incentives players to actually usie fucking magic.

You can draw from monsters (Draw>Cast) if they have status magic like Double or Triple or Aura, those aren't really dependent on stats like damage magic is.

Depends on your play style. If you level up the enemies with you and that's when they have good magic to draw but they are hard to fight. So pick your difficulty.

Refining spells from items using GF abilities is the easiest way to get most of your magic stock. At the start of the game you can get fish fins from the fish monsters on the beach and refine them into 20 Water spells each using Shiva's ice magic refine skill. It's a pretty good spell to junction early on and should carry you for a while until you get access to better spells.

The level scaling was never a problem unless you played like a complete retard. You can still steamroll anything even if you're at max level with half decent junctions and the higher level monsters have better item drops and magic.
Also all the non-optional bosses have a hard cap on their levels so you can still grind past them and they won't get any stronger after a point.

1 aged poorly. 2 sucks. 8 is a mess because of the junction system but is very unique. 12 is a bit weird because of the gambit system although the remakes helped fix the license board issues. 13 is cancer that gets slightly fixed in 13-2. 15 is just so cobbled together it's disappointing.

imo, only 2 sucks because the core gameplay is ass. Some games just have age and aren't really bad, like FF1, but FF3 is a better FF1, and FF5 is a better FF3, etc. I still love those three games, but keep that in mind. 13 is always regarded as bad, but at the very least the music and graphics are pretty, and its trilogy improves as it goes, the third FF13 is pretty great.

10 was somewhat hated for a time but has become a fan favorite over the years
13 is mostly hated for its linearity, which is like 80% of the game, 13-2 is superior to 13 and a decent game, 13-3 sucks, don't bother with it.
X-2's story, characters, tone is mostly disliked but the combat is one of the best in the series
15 is the FF game that feels the least like an FF game, combat is faster paced real time instead of turn based and the game was built for newcomers in mind, story is not that great, 15 trades world building and story for heavy character development. World building is pretty crucial to FF games.
2 is just too goddamn boring and has shit progression.
