Whenever I talk to an NPC I always zoom the camera in to first person, but I don't think I could run the entire game that way.

Nowadays, you get so much bonus exp with the Brand-New Ring and the preorder earrings that it shouldn't take more than a few hours to get a new class up to 20 or so. Every class that's lower level than your highest one also gets +100% exp as well.

I prefer it that way. It's Machinist, not Gunner, so simply firing a gun should not make up the majority of their actions.

I have. There's no shortage of artists to hire these days. Personally I recommend finding an artist who DOESN'T specialize in XIV because they come out samey. You just provide references (in this case screenshots) and discuss what kind of pose. They'll provide a sketch for feedback and then the final.

Any recommendations? Hews Hack and Soraname are my favorite lewd artists. I know soraname does XIV stuff regularly, but not sure about hews.

I can't really suggest a preferred world, they're just way too tiny. And the only reason to leave a server (when you can just world visit) would be to switch DCs at this point, unless you want a house.
If you're looking for people to talk to any Crystal world works so you can visit Balmung. It's a really social server and you always see people talking.

Materias now have elemental affinity. They are selected randomly upon materialization but can be changed through different means. Slotting a materia will raise your affinity towards that element by one. At a certain affinity level you get a bonus like "chance to instantly recover 1000 mana after dealing critical damage or healing" or "chance to increase job gauge by x upon recieving damage".
