I don't know why it's just this E3 that's doing this to you. Go back and watch literally any conference since they started recording them, I think the Gamecube one is the earliest I remember, you'll see it's literally exactly the same shit, terrible marketing speak from soulless suits.

The only difference is that in the past few years E3 has gained a lot more importance as a social media influencer so more money is being spent on flashy shit and trying to look good for the #gamers instead of just investors, stockholders and gaming magazine editors.

But it's been like that for like 10 years now.

Stop watching the western devs. Literally the only exciting things from this E3 were PSO, Tales of Arise, and Elden Ring, and the first of those is gonna be exclusive to a console where the install base doesn’t like weeb games because they’re plebby morons. E3 is only draining for me because I am seeing a market slowly getting consumed by shovelware and corporate political relations. Ultimately it's only draining for me because they haven't advertised or shown off any games that are being made by good companies. Where's KCD's mod support trailer? Where's Mount and Blade 2? Hell Terraria's trailer was barely in there and was cut off in favour of the other Chinese shovel ware

Really, yeah it's draining, but I've realised what's shown off to the public isn't what the full menu is. You can look and find good games. But finding them at E3? Far more uncommon now. There's only five games I've noticed in each conference that genuinely interested me.

I feel similar. I don't even feel like this E3 is particularly worse than the previous ones, but I'm just starting to feel really old and tired, like I'm going to just drop dead suddenly. I feel like if anything is announced that is going to be coming out later this year, or next year or god forbid several years from now I won't be around for it.

If you are looking at corporate/E3 for salvation, you are looking in the wrong direction. You can feel it in the atmosphere of E3 - these schmucks know they are failures. It is mostly a matter of them being too big to legit fail, so we are dragged through the mud with every terrible game they release.

On the bright side, they are having visible difficulty attracting the casual audience with the ease they had during the days of "motion controls". Good sign but we must continue to ride the waves and see where this goes.
