Sell it, buy a Pso gamecube keyboard controller, an adapter and play psobb (ephinea server) on pc

first things first if it isn't a 1.6 motherboard get the clock cap out
then softmod/chip/TSOP it
then null the HDD key
then play all the best og xbox games that aren't on xbone backcompat

Replace the clock capacitor ASAP, preferably with a solid tantalum one.

You should have just bought a 360 since it plays most OG Xbox games. But oh well, if you've bought the Xbox, then these are the games I'd recommend:

Or just google for games you like. Apparently Jade Empire is quite good, made by BioWare straight after KOTOR. I never played it though. Personally I'd recommend playing KOTOR first.

I think I got rid of mine, can't remember if I sold it or chucked it out, or maybe it is lying around somewhere, but I'm pretty sure the optical drive was dead.

Recently I've bought some OG Xbox games (namely Halo and Halo 2) and played them on my 360, and they run great. Halo CE Anniversary for the 360 has the advantage of gamer points, but the original Xbox version of Halo is graphically way superior, since Anniversary is based on the buggy PC port.

Shit dude. Optical drives are cheap and easily replaceable. Once modded, you don’t even need it really unless you use the occasional maintenance discs. Either way you can buy yourself a new Xbox for 20 bucks or so. I got lucky and was given a clear blue Xbox model from an old lady who needed help with cleaning her garage

I’ve got a drive replacement coming in already. U thought SSDs made no difference with the old Xbox

You should try to clean up those cases and get rid of the dirt. That is one of those things I’ve always hated about the Xbox

I should, I cleaned the entire insides and exterior but that was a few years ago. Probably time for another cleaning

Best way was to take the metal shielding off the case and then wash the thing, but you risk damaging the shielding that way unfortunately.
