Is it good now? with this new cool update.
Is it good now? with this new cool update
no
what are its bad points?
Every update has been a sidegrade at best. None of the developers have any fucking clue what they are doing or why they are doing it.
No, it's still poor man's Master of Orion 2.
Stellaris is 'Is It Good Yet?: The Game'
Spoiler warning no it will never be
so what are the major issues?
>a fucking 1996 game has proper planet screen with landscape based on planet type and all the buildings and fun micromanagement of resouces
>Stellaris has some soulless icons
Paradox """games""" are nothing more than some excel tables.
Soulless is a pretty good way to describe it, I think. The game is so macro that none of your decisions really matter, and the average playthrough stops having emotional content once you get to the unstoppable blob fleet phase.
Everything.
It's pretty fun when you're navigating through the random lovecraft choose-your-own-adventure narratives in the early game, but this content runs dry after two hours and it takes another ten hours of gameplay to realize that the game stopped being interesting.
Don't forget they can't get those excel tables to keep from bloating infinitely until a high-end machine starts chugging just trying to move tiny little polygons around an empty void
moo2 did so many things right. i still fire it up periodically and burn through a few games
I think it has been good for awhile.
I think the lategame stops being interesting and nothing they have ever done has really fixed that problem. Endgame Crises are a gimmick and doesn't make the core lategame interesting.
The biggest issue right now would be your interaction with other empires.
Currently there is no reason to have any interaction with other empires that is not war, as the diplomacy is pretty much less than your barebones 4x standard.
There is no reason to join federations because firstly, the AI has no Idea how to wage war to support you in the first place, and secondly, fleets are moving at such an incredible slow speed overall that the AI wouldn't even reach the war in the first place.
>proper planet screen with landscape based on planet type and all the buildings
>turn based space battles, with all kind of customizable ships and lot of options (missiles, torpedoes, fighter/bombers, boarding, teleporting, self-destruction, etc)
>even land battles with models for race, race with power armor, tanks and mecha
No game tops MoO2.
>fleets are moving at such an incredible slow speed overall that the AI wouldn't even reach the war in the first place.
Make wormholes great again.
Its too bad that you can only build gateways so late in the game. They make everything so much easier
Game went to shit with the patch/dlc last December.
>can get a free Titan at the start of the game through archaeology
What were they thinking?
I mean the old wormholes. When the game used to have 3 basic FTL methods.
Hell they should have done it like Sword of the Stars, not this retarded shit of theirs.
