Hmm, I'll keep an eye on it - thanks for letting us know! I already said farewell to HoMM after Ubishit turned it into a gacha game, so it can only pleasantly surprise. I feel like they went a bit overboard with pixel aesthetics, but I'm clearly biased in favor of HoMM III.

I know this feel, except replace this game with Jedi Fallen Order and DOOM Eternal. There's just fucking nothing this year, this is the worst E3 in a very long time and you can even feel the total lack of excitement in the conferences themselves. Bethesda was just Fallout 76 and mobile shovelware. MS was just multiplats, Queers of War, and Xbone 2. No Sony. PC show was just an Epic shill commercial. I hope Nintendo has something, anything, to care about but I doubt it since the Switch is shit.

You shouldn't have just 1 hero. Get more courier heroes to pick up and transport extra troops, conquer easier neutral camps, check weekly bonus camps etc.

There is nothing wrong with HoMM IV. Having a one man army hero is cool as fuck after you slogged trough the shitty faze, the units are more unique compared to the predecessor and the campaigns are some of the best any vidya ever produced

These is plenty of wrong with homm4
Having a one man army hero is done better in many other games, it doesn't fit into the combat of homm that homm4 kept where you have an abstracted chess game where 1 figure can represent hundreds or thousands of that army type but the hero is just the hero.
The pathing of the units different sizes and movement and attack angles are poorly handled.
The caravan system makes it a tedious mess and removes one of homms benefits over the warlords tbs series where you have way too many small armies to take care of with little added strategic benefit.
It's an ideas guys game where none of the ideas have been properly handled.

It is one of the worst games I've ever been tricked into playing.

Music & story was alright even though it had to go and destroy endor, some faction setups were good, while others were bland.

HommIV was rushed, and New World Computing was at the bad place in general during the death groans of 3DO. They even made Might and Magic themed arena shooter in attempt to cash in with success of Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament.

There's no obelisk on that map, and the last time I played on that map I dug for the ultimate artifact at random and got it on the first try.
Such a tiny map that there aren't that many tiles that are viable for digging, so not too crazy, but maybe 1/200

It doesn't look bad but unlike Heroes games I can't just from the glance figure out what I can interact with and what I can't. Things just don't pop.

I think in motion it should be more apparent, looks like the resources have a shimmer to them:
Compare the 2 piles of minerals near the center-northeast

Though with stuff like trees being animated that might get overshadowed.
So hard to say for sure I think, since I have several decades of knowing what is interactable in homm2 and homm3.

I don't really like the cliffs in the new game, but otherwise I think it looks good.
The ramps from the cliffs look very bad.
