How would you guys rate the Crash games?
Nina, Brio, Fake Velo, Spyro, and Rilla Roo are the final five with the door open for post-launch support. Spyro will be announced in one of the streams this week. Rilla Roo is a cheat code unlock like Penta, though as he wasn't in the original game it's a new cheat code made just for NF. He's only in the roster to tease Crash Bash and is otherwise a joke character.

they removed them because split screen has to move 4 times more polygons. The original also used lower polycount for split screen.
People want to talk about something. Since the gameplay is now a known quantity, there's not much to talk about until the game is out and we're playing it.
On top of that, the original still plays perfectly. The expanded roster and course selection is the selling point of the remake.
I just hope the game 'feels' right.

I don't get the point of Classic Mode. Can't you just play Nitro-Fueled and then just personally refuse to change characters or customize?

They also remove the flags on the tower and the torches in the courtyard and some lighting effects are toned down (the sun in the first turn) to handle the simultaneous 4 screens.

New mode. Use the chest code to unlock original CTR roster. Use each character for their home track's trophies and CTR challenge, N. Tropy for relics, bosses for the gem cups that unlocked them, and Fake Crash for everything else until I have enough coins for N. Trance.
Mystery caves is pretty rad, I think the new version is a little bit over-packed but it still looks okay. I still think that sewer speedway is #1 though.

I always saw it as pinstripe's stage because he was in toxic waste/cortex power in CB1, but they seem to want pinstripe to have hot air skyway. I think brio is the next best fit, they put his slimes he throws at you into the stage so it seems to work.

But Velo will be a Pit Stop character, because all the CNK cast are. That may actually put Spyro there as well as he's also technically a CNK character.
And I just can't see Baby T making it in before Tawna, Kong, and Moe. I think now that those three are deconfirmed it also kills Baby T's chances.
Nina is a wild card, who the fuck knows what role she'll play.
They hit most of the characters though. Only N. Tropy, Penta, Pura, and Fake Crash are without tracks. I wish they had done more with warped, like had a pura stage based on the great wall levels but they laid more heavily on the CB1/CB2 themes. I guess it makes more sense in the context of the story but it's a fucking kart racer so I think that's a pretty flimsy reason to pass.

There's no reason to hold him for this long, I don't think he's that huge of a reveal and they already showed all the other CNK bosses at once. They already did the track conversions. I don't think there's any way he is not in though, they did say ALL from CNK.

I feel you, it was the hardest trick to learn for me. I recommend you use a balanced character. Stay close to the right walls and take the corners really tight. Start your powerslide in the middle of the straight, use the first boost right after the first corner, the second boost in the middle of the straight and the third boost right after the second corner. Repeat and you're done. It just takes a bit of practice.
I picked Tiny so I could unga my way through the rest of the track with raw speed even if I fucked up the turns on the pyramid
All the CTR and CNK tracks are in there, sans Hyper Spaceway. My guide was missing 10 pages so I thought it was that but it's actually not in the guide at all. There's a full PDF of the CNK strategy guide as well, but the CTR one hasn't ever been published online by prima or scanned by anyone.
I'll have to take another try at it, thanks for the tips. I had been playing with Coco for it but maybe it would be better suited to crash.
You'd be surprised how viable that is on Dragon Mines where you can't maintain sacred fire all the way through regardless.

That works too, Oxide isn't that fast on most tracks. You can beat him without using the shortcut on Sewer Speedway with a speed character.

Not an objective list by any means, just from someone who has Crash as one of his favorite franchises. N. Sane was a huge disappointment, although a relief at the same time, I could've been worse, but I still felt disappointed, guess you could just say it was mediocre. Top 3 on my list are the pinnacle of Crash to me.

It was Turbo Track, and it's still in all the versions. The PS4 version just has a different, uglier version of it as an option.

Controversial opinion, I know, but I actually... Enjoyed Titans. It was a pretty fun brawler for the PS2. If they didn't had those autistic redesigns, I would safely have it higher up even. What kissed the Bandicoot's death was Naughty Dog signing up with Activision in the first place.
Titans was a game that I had fun playing co-op with friends and ended up finishing it multiple times, just simply because it was a fun game. Shit like Wrath of Cortex I found so unbelievably shit that I never even finished it. I was genuinely so distraught when I convinced my mom to buy me a PS2 but I was going to help her buy it by selling my PS1, and the first Crash game I get is WoC. Mutants on the other hand is just completely shit. While Titans was at least fun and had cool level design and cool monsters, Mutants had neither.

That's not the reason. That comes from a time from before middle finger being a popular gesture meaning that. The real reason is 4 fingers is much easier to animate, but still looks natural if you aren't paying close attention.

CNK characters likely don't, but the key factor here is that gem cups DO - they showed a file with completed gem cups but no corresponding character unlocks
there's not much reason to think this isn't the final build they're playing on considering the game comes out in less than two weeks

The blog post said it would include all CTR and CNK characters, nothing more than that. At best we can hope for Fake Velo and Spyro since they were technically CNK playable characters.
They make bosses unlock by beating them and then put kart parts behind gem cups? Not a great motivator.
