What's Yea Forums's favourite Dynasty Warriors game? Is it dependent on which one you played first?
For me it will always be 3 but that's sort of my own fault. I refused to find 4 good because of the change in story mode and then put off the series afterwards. Playing 8 now though and it has got me right back into the series.
dynasty warriors empire 7 >customizable characters >bro bonds >marry waifu >tactics >bros and waifu can fight with you >tons of weapons >conquer china with bros and waifu is kino
Every game after removed features.

Interesting choice. Why? I briefly played 6 but it didn't click and confirmed my biases that nothing could beat 3.

>customisable characters >in a dynasty warriors game I'm finding it hard to deal with being able to choose any weapon for anyone in 8 but I'm autistically sticking to the default weapons for each character with a 2nd to suit what I think they're play style is like.
Only because 6 let me play Zhao Yun from 5's intro. That was all I cared about. All the other characters, the stories, I didn't give a single fuck. Zhao Yun's sweet motion-captured spear swinging was all I could think about.
started with 2, found 4 to be the best because the friends i still had at the time and i loved fucking around with the character creator, playing split screen and doing retarded shit, the soundtrack also makes me nostalgic now, it also lead to us playing DWO together when it was still around and we had a blast on that other than 4, i'd say i probably only enjoyed advance as much, it was easily one of the most fun gba games i ever played 6 and everything after completely turned me off, i pretty much can't stand to play any modern warriors game now

Did anyone play and enjoy 1?

8 XLCE is the DEFINITIVE chink-slaughtering simulator. >most stages, movesets/weapons, branching campaign paths, general content, etc.
9 was a terrible mistake. Shame, it always seems to be 1 step forward 2 steps back for Koei.

I'm inclined to agree except for I don't like the levels too much and the structure of them means you're basically forced to follow a set route each time you play them so that all your generals don't die.

>9 was a terrible mistake I wouldn't go that far. It has the best models and character designs in the series and i found it fun. Wasn't the best. Wasn't the abortion that was DW6
